RedDagger
Ah, drones for non-military. Something NewScientist jizzes over seemingly every other edition, but they seemingly aren't something that's never going to happen in our lifetimes (or at all) - there's already been many successful trials, including delivery; they reportedly could feasibly use a small network of drones to cover a small country, for example in delivering medicine. There are two main problems: drones are expensive, and sending out a small, expensive drone to someone's doorstep is almost asking for it to be stolen. They could have an error and get stuck or crash, though could use a low-power transmitter to a radio to relay its position; still would screw up the system a fair amount, and you'd hope other people don't find it first to sell/keep. Also, there isn't much law in terms of drones - this needs to be finalised before they can know if it's a good long-term business strategy instead of blowing tens of thousands on a small fleet of drones, only to be told it would be illegal to have them fly over property to deliver. It's likely to be illegal to shoot down drones - not just for the fact it's exactly the same as shooting a car because you don't like the fact it has tinted windows - but shooting anything is dangerous, especially in the air, moving around; people would likely get injured from that kind of thing. But it may still happen in say the USA with guns abound. As with all 'upcoming' tech, I'd say to give it a chance; become cheaper, safe and accepted, and it's likely to be used. Would be nice. Chunkyman
Even if this is feasible, I imagine Luddites will get it banned.

na89340qv0n34b09q340
This could make getting Pizza's delivered somewhat worthwhile. Right up until they shoot you for not giving a tip. Blow up your house, more like. They'd deploy baby drones from their drone-sac, and the baby drones would fly around your house, dick around on your computer monitor or TV, and just generally be tiny assholes until you give the momma drones a gratuitous tip.
