Just wondering if the cops are really trying to arrest you or kill you.

They've always wanted to kill you. Every free roam game that rockstar made they want to kill you. Even though they say "pull the vehicle over" don't ever do it.

Makes sense though, there is no point in getting arrested online since arrests remove your weapons (which could equal to hundred of thousands dollars of ammo loss in the endgame). Would be nice if they could reduce the cops aggressiveness for the first star though.

I've been arrested in SP mode. I've never given the cops the chance in MP. There's no point. It's less expensive to go down shooting.

In my case I don't care if they remove them, I can buy them again (got lucky to meet a Robin Hood). This removes some realism from the cops, but lets not put realism and gta 5 cops in the same sentence. I prefer GTA 4 police

But that's the point though, it's a useless mechanic. If cops indeed would arrest you at 1star and confiscate your weapons, then everyone would simply get 2+ stars by shooting 1 cop in order to avoid the ammo tax, or just die.

 

The developers probably thought that it might be better to simply remove it entirely since it would get bypassed and only cause frustration either way. Didn't play much of the GTAIV MP so can't comment on the cops that much.

 

I quite like the cops in GTAO though, much more aggressive and having to hide rather than escape the red circle makes it more fun and practical to play. I don't even mind their crazy spawns (makes sense in a way that the police would be waiting for you further down the road anyway, if your crime is big enough).

Yeah, it should be "Pull over and you will be executed".

 

I remember the first time I got thrown off a bike right next to the police, and was lying on the ground right in front of them, and I was like "f*ck!" in anticipation of them stealing all my sh*t. But then they just kept shooting me and killed me instead, costing me a measly $2000. I was pretty happy.

 

Definitely prefer having arrests taken out of the equation.

Don't get me wrong, I love americans. But what's friendship between countries if we can't take little friendly swipes at each other here and there ?

 

PS. Nothing is free, but that's why there are taxes.

Wish they would let this happen so you could spend time in that useless structure called the prison. Your char should lose skill while being stuck in a cell over a couple of game hours. And you should get arrested between 1-2 star level. After that cops shoot to kill.

but trick is when you pull over you get executed anyway

Death is the only sentence the cops will give ya

maybe it should be changed to this if caught

1. 1 Star = receive a fine of $500.00
2. 2 Stars = receive a fine of $5000.00
3. 3 Stars =receive a fine of $15000.00 plus all ammo taken
4. 4 Stars loose all weapons and ammo plus 50% of all money in the bank
5. 5 Stars loose everything, Apt/Garage, all cars, weapons, and cash .......returned to the street on foot once again

BUT if we get away give us a bonus

 

1. 1 star = $250.00
2. 2 stars = $1500.00
3. 3 Stars =$5000.00
4. 4 Stars = $10,000.00
5. 5 Stars= make the bonus equal to 50% of the money I have in the bank plus a ammo refill on the weapon I choose

this could make for some crazy lobbies ........16 players all trying to escape a 3 star or more wanted level ........lol

But it might make for some less crazy lobbies by stopping some of the spawn camping and people just killing for no reason

I have tried several time, but it always ends in failure. It is not possible to be "Busted" in GTA Online.

 

They will always use weapon and try to kill you still when you just shoplift a chocolate in a convenience store without ever showing your weapon or violence.

No. The cops do not arrest you.

 

They took me to an alley and then strip searched me, took my clothes and left me for dead. I had to fight my way through 15 prostitutes with my nuts hanging out in order to get back to my safe house. It was the worst experience in the world but I survived...And you know who saved me? The big brother from above.

All trolling aside, it actually would be interesting if they arrested you and then locked you in the back of a police car (and drove you to the station). Then a friend could either bail you out - or you go to the station where they fine you $100 - $1,500.
