save game problem

okay I'm having a huge problem and I want to know if anyone else has had this issue

 

 

I emailed Rockstar support but I'm sure I won't receive anything tonight other than the automated response

 

 

okay so here's the rundown...

 

 

I have yet to update this game until today

 

a friend of mine insisted I download the app to train chop

 

 

I wasn't really fond of this idea because I knew I would have to update the game but reluctantly I downloaded the app on my phone follow the instructions on how to link it to my ps3 and the game

 

 

once I did this I tried to load an older save and it worked, I even loaded several other saves with no problems

 

once we were done looking into what he wanted me to see I loaded up my current save game

 

just after doing this the game locked up on me

 

I restarted the ps3 it went through with recovery mode

 

I brought up the game

 

and it loaded fine however instead of continuing from my current save

 

...it keeps loading the prologue

 

 

when I go to load any of my saved games

 

the little icon comes up spinning at the bottom and continues to do this

 

it will not bring up any saved games

 

 

please tell me someone elses had this problem and knows how to fix it

 

 

I can't even fathom the idea of redoing this game yet again

Wow nevermind I just spoke to PlayStation

their response was if had PlayStation Plus I wouldn't be having this problem

That's a joke that ,,,or cleaver marketing ,,either way your no better off though ,be a shame to have to restart all the good work you have put in .

yeah I don't get it myself but it is what is is I guess

but as far as having to restart the game it wouldn't be any surprise to me at this point I've had to do it 3 times now

The 1st was because I missed one side mission trying to obtain 100 percent

The 2nd was because of a glitch (go figure)

The 3rd time was because after obtaining 100 percent I was currently in the process of going back through the game getting a true 100 percent

now that I think about it that would be 4 playthroughs

 

the only reason I agreed to DL the chop app was because a friend of mine wanted me to see something about it and he kept saying that if I was truly looking to get a true 100 percent that would have to do this anyway

 

his response to this was dude I am so sorry I didn't know it was going to do that

 

guess it's just my dumb luck

here we go with the number 5

luckily I got off half a day today and can actually dedicate a little bit of time to this

I had this happen last night.. I ended up having to delete my newest save from the PS3 save data utility menu. The save that your game is trying to load is corrupted.

Edit: They guy who told you it wouldn't happen with PS Plus was probably trying to say that you could have backed up your data. It's one of the perks of having PS Plus.

either way man it doesn't matter I was not that far into my last playthrough trying to obtain a true 100 percent beyond that of what the game requires

I'll just keep pressing forward

it just sucks that for now I won't really be able to participate in the hunt
