Thegutang
Is GTA V a good game? I would have to say yes, it is worth a play-through... Did I get my moneys worth from this purchase? I would have to say yes... But I also find it is also incredibly frustrating that I am already bored of it... After reading the comments on this board I'm sure most of us would agree that Rockstar severely exaggerated how innovative this game would be, with all the marketing hype and statements like 'GTA V will be the biggest and most ambitious yet'...When I hear a statement like that I guess I am naive enough to expect something at least close to be delivered. This statement indicates that GTA V would retain many of the best features from previous games, with additional consideration and polish.I excused GTA IV from the lack of past features and content because it was a new engine, and aside from the subjective change in vehicle physics it was a great step forward.Unfortunately GTA V does not really build upon the best features that previous GTA's offered. In fact it doesn't really bring anything new or innovative besides a slightly expanded multiplayer component, better lighting and a larger map compared to IV.GTA V is actually quite a regression to the series. Almost every gameplay element and feature is either poorly implemented or broken. Almost every aspect of the game is a wasted potential and leaves me asking 'wtf was Rockstar thinking?' I could literally write a list a mile long of the retarded design decisions in this game but I think the more intelligent of us hereare already aware.I really expected Rockstar to take everything they learned from previous GTA's, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire and Max Payne 3 and combine them into one ultimate game.. Maybe my expectations were too high but I feel that's what I was promised based on press releases and trailers, not to mention the incredibly long and expensive development window. More importantly, GTA V lacks the fun and spirit of other greats in the series like Vice City and San Andreas. Our potential for fun is hobbled at every corner by the aforementioned design decisions, and after the story is done the SP game turns into little more than 'Grand Theft Retirement Simulator'.I think most of us have already gotten bored and moved on. I really hoped that GTA V would be my 'jack-of-all-trades' go-to game where I could do anything I wanted. That while say Forza might offer a better racing experience, or MP3 might offer a better combat experience, I could have more fun with GTA because of the breadth offered without having to swap games. With so much development time and budget there is not reason for the game to be so lacking (especially when the code base for many missing features has already been established in past Rockstar games). If the lack of features and content is a reason to sell us them in future DLC or keep us hooked on the MP aspect that's too bad. I really despise this new business model of gaming, and I really thought Rockstar would be better than that. Oh well... IS GTA V a good game? Yes... Is GTA V the masterpiece that we all hoped for? I think most of us would agree that it isn't...A lack of innovation and a plethora of poor design decisions leaves little in the way of long term replay value. El Zodape
Well what innovation can you possibly achieve in a game where you commit crime? Trevor. Wether it was a good or a bad thing, depends on your opinion.

Drake1212
TL;DR Face it, you wrote a wall of text and no one wants to read that. But even if they did you got to remember: OP's opinion doesn't matter to anyone else than himself. It's all subjective. We all have our own opinion on things and we are most likely not going to change them just because randomguy127 told us to.
gunziness
Both of the last posters are nothing but a couple of damn idiots, this is a forum, to express opinions and exchange ideas, thats the point of it, i dont see nothing wrong with the thread, so if you dont like to read long posts, then why the hell do you bother posting in this one? I honestly fail to understand your logic guys, maybe because there isnt any and you are just dumb. Anyway, my main concern about the game is multiplayer, it killed the true potential of the game, opinion based on, for example, things that were cut off from SP and the short campaign. i believe it could of been just better if it wasnt for R* spending to much focus in making MP so complex and diverse. You just have to ignore the mouth breathers on this forum. Why they even waste their time or take the energy to say 'TLDR' or 'nobody cares' is beyond me... Anyway, I agree. Its obvious the lack of SP content is meant to drive DLC sales and push MP. Its a real shame... But I could even forgive that if any of the core mechanics weren't such crap. AtomicPunk
I agree. Well written. I was over GTA V in a little over two weeks. It just ain't got it. Far from a masterpiece. But it is beautifully detailed though. Official General
