Why is it that off-road tires seem to handle better on the road then street tires? The off-road vehicles are amazing on road even after you mod them to the fullest.

 

Another note. I can definitely tell you tuner tires seem to have a much better grip on the road then sports tires. My stinger gt had sport tires on it. Almost fully modded. It seems like it has to much power for it's own good, but then I traded the sport tires for tuner tires...

 

What a difference. It seems to grip the road better. It doesn't fish tail as much. But it also seems to "float" more.

 

What do you guys think? Again this is just from my experience. Opinions please.

I try to not worry about tires, I haven't really decided what my cars are. I will probably use some Tuner tires for my getaway vehicle but i'm not sure. I think someone should test all the tires and what their benefits are.

I'm pretty sure they are on YouTube. I'm not sure what the title was. Someone posted it on this site awhile ago. Mainly for off-road tires compared to onroad.

As far as I can tell he found that offroad tyres make a difference when going offroad, but no difference when on asphalt.

When I started out I put High End wheels on all my customs, not just the Entity. High end on a fully customised Carbonnizare (sports) and Gauntlet (muscle). I noticed that the sports and muscle were very back end happy and after a few days changed from high end to the correct wheel type for the class of car.

 

What a difference it made! imediately could feel the sports and muscle cars holding the road so much better than with the supercar wheels. the back end actually stayed on the road, less (or controllable) spin-outs.

 

All my off road vehicles have always had off road wheels but I know the wheels do make a difference.

Somebody had posted a while back that the traction was related to the car and the tires had nothing to do with it.

It would for sure be noticeable on a muscle car.

Honestly, drive one round the block with high end wheels on and then change them for muscle car wheels and drive round the same block. I bet you will notice a difference on the 1st bend.
