Background/Design The Canis Mesa is an off-road vehicle that first appeared in Vice City and made its way to now the modern version in V. The Mesa went from looking like a Wrangler to now being a Rubicon. The Mesa can either appear with or without a removable hard-top. The Mesa has alternative versions (which are way better IMO): the Merryweather and Crusader designs. Let's take a look at how the Mesa was in the other titles (GTA VC, VCS & SA) Speed - 6.0 Even though the Canis Mesa is a great off-road vehicle, it really lacks the top speed. It's not the fastest on the track out there but most people usually get this vehicle solely for the looks. On a good note, it does have 4WD making it great to take on the dirt roads. Handling - 5.5 Due to its 4WD it suffers with a large turn circle, but still handles well on the bumpy roads. It doesn't have the greatest handling on roads, but does exceptionally well off-road. Overall Rating - 5.5 It's definitely not one of my favourites personally, but it still gets the job done when going through the hills. There's not much to say about this vehicle because for one thing; it's very very very common... you can literally find it anywhere on the map at almost anytime. So it's not a big shock to see one here and there, and not to mention its alternate versions are way better (Merryweather & Crusader). So what do you guys think of the Canis Mesa? Is this a different version of the mesa? those lifted cageless mesas w the merryweather bits were created by someone in a saved editor by switching from a normal mesa to a merryweather, or the other way around, not sure, then brought into online, then i duped it off someone they handle like normal mesa's, meaning slightly better than the merywearther mesa's, i had a true merryweather mesa for a while and it felt too lightweight, it spun and rolled all the time. cutter666 Posted December 8, 2013 Share Posted December 8, 2013 The way I got my merrywheather mesa was by calling the mercenaries on a friend, then we ambushed them! They will just keep coming with more trucks until target is killed. I managed to grab 2 my friend got one also. Not a bad way to spend $7k.. jtet37 Posted December 9, 2013 Share Posted December 9, 2013 the easiest/cheapest way to get one is during the gang attack near the army base, two should be parked in the area so you might even have the option of open top or hard top. or keep calling people (lester especially) for missions till one involving merryweather pops up, mesas will very likely be around somewhere. also after calling mercs, they do not endlessly send carloads of people after the target, i think the norm is three. read somewhere awhile ago that someone saw a steady stream of them coming, but it was eventually decided that that was a glitch. fwiw personally i find the mugger a better service for the price. I had a friend call them on me and found a good spot to ambush them...four mw mesas right next to each other. 13 mercs all together. One was black with hard top two olive one open one hard...and one forest greenish with hard top. I took the open top and painted it crew red and hot pink secondary for my lady lol. Well for the normal Mesa no, you can only fit 4 people and none at the back but I'm not quite sure of the Merryweather since I haven't owned one yet. ------------------------- So does everyone agree to the fact that the Merryweather variant is the best out of the three? That said, one thing the MWM has over the other masa's is clearance. This makes it capable of crossing deeper water and clearing larger rocks. CrazyhamGaming Posted March 23, 2014 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I did a trip to Mount Chilliad with my Mesa. Here is the beast started up and ready to adventure. First I stopped to fill up with gas. Then the journey started. I made it! On the way back I had a bit of a crash! Then it broke down in Sandy Shores so I left it there to rust.
