Is the submarine in Online mode? Cant find it

I was looking for the submarine in the bottom south east corner of the map where it is in single player but didn't find it. Is it in Online mode at all?

I've had it, and it was down on the dock you can buy in SP. Maybe you have to be a certain level, I was around 30.

I found two myself; but theres four I guess;

Not a specific answer but I use them all the time; sometimes they have a delayed spawn, or they won't spawn unless you leave and return to the location.

Had one spawn at the Pier you can buy in SP. Not the waste management the other one. Anyways it was awkward since another boat had spawn on top of it. And the best part I had a $9k bounty on my head. Was fun watching people trying to kill me.

May not be entirely accurate, these are the two places I remember seeing them, one in the marina and one in the Merryweather docks.

Thank you everyone. i will try these two locations first. I think the bottom right one is where i started my adventure last night and slowly worked my way around the dock further east but didnt find anything...i did however find a Buzzard heavily guarded my marines though...

MW docks inside the buidling in the water in the most north east point. Buzzard spawns close to there too. Good little spot for post exporting gear up.

guess I've been looking in all the wrong spots. still trying to figure out what the purpose of this is online. have you been able to do anything with it besides underwater exploration?

 

I'm already 99% sure of the answer to this. But had to ask in case R* sneaked this in with the latest update:

 

is there anything at that under water plane wreck that's located just off the sonar docks? same area as the collectible brief case with money. There were some weapons randomly spread out on the ocean floor in that area.

 

edit: so subs are good for

 

* riding out bounties underwater

 

* escaping wanted levels

 

* practice improving your char's lung capacity skill bar

 

* escaping other players you've managed to piss off in FM

 

what about snipers? Can a heavy sniper kill the sub? If so, how deep would you have to go from the surface?

I found a sub in the middle of nowhere along the right side of the map? It seemed like a spawn point because I drove off and one reappeared. Anyone know where I am talking about?

There seems to be a few locations, the ones i know of are michaels dock in sp north of the map, off the beach east from the chemical labs and then theres the merryweather docks.

I can always find one near the Merryweather docks, but the other one only occasionally for some reason.
