I love GTA IV's cops more because I have more fun with them, but in terms of shooting skills and efficiency it's no contest. The cops in GTA V (be it LSPD or Blaine County) are just out for blood and good at getting that blood.

You really think that's true? I've hidden on roof tops and behind buildings yet on occasions they still know where I am even if I'm well out of their sight range.

 

Anyway I voted for the LCPD. They might not be as aggressive, but at least they know how to arrest people.

While the LCPD aren't aggressive or bloodthirsty killers, they simply aren't as complex and smart as the LSPD. LSPD wins in a landslide IMO.

Lspd wins this ... not even close ... they take the meaning of police brutality to a whole new level..they would sh*t on LCPD ... I guess the training for LSPD was way more advanced

That is bullsh*t. When a cop first chases after you, they'll attempt to pull you over. Then if you proceed to reak havoc, they will perform PIT manuevers.

 

In V, they are quick to ram you, they have unrealistically overpowered engines, they DON'T do PIT manuevers, they just hit you, and they somehow can read minds and know how to block your every move in less than a split second.

 

It is unrealistic and down right annoying. The LCPD mifht be dumber, but their aggressiveness is more realistic and less annoying. The LSPD feels so scripted, LCPD is natural and features no rubberbanding or random cops popping out of nowhere or helicopters popping out of nowhere or unrealistic ramming. For me, LCPD is better.

It's actually quite realistic. Cops IRL are trained to do all of those things. Maybe the ramming is a bit of an overkill (especially when you're in a fast car) But they certainly feel more like real cops that have been trained. The LCPD just peformed conga lines and shot aimlessly.

I can understand why people think the LCPD are more fun, but I feel like you guys are taking the cop system in GTA V for granted.

LSPD wasn't having that and were trained to kill first ask questions later ....LCPD are just lazy and don't really care about what goes on ... LSPD dares you to stand next to them Plus the cop care have turbo on them (atleast it seems that way)

Again, I disagree. Cops in real life do not have 95% shooting accuracy nor do they know every move you make in a car when trying to block you. And if you run from the cops, they just wrecklessly shoot at you in real life? I think not.

The LSPD by all means.

 

They might not be as funny as the LCPD but they're competent, fit, smart and know how to work.

 

They just don't rush towards you and take cover at the most stupidest thing ever like a damn chair, they will fall back if their partner was killed and get to cover.

 

They know how to communicate, and they aren't really robots anymore. They know people has died and they will call an ambulance, they will be aware when a fellow officer has been injured during the line of duty, and under preassure they'll drag their partners and put them behind cover.

No what I mean is other peds. I liked in GTA IV seeing cops chase after suspects and then put them into their squad cars. One of my favourite things to do is lure peds by them attacking me so the cops will arrest them.

 

This doesn't appear to be present in GTA V. I don't understand it if the A.I is so much smarter. It's like the GTA III era all over again where the cops only know how to kill, kill and kill.

Been doing some research and it seems they still can arrest Pedestrians.

 

The problem with pedestrians hitting you is the fact that they get treated equally as the player, meaning they will be shot at like if they just received two stars.

They do infact preform PIT maneuvers with their bumpers, I've had it happen to me multiple times on the freeway and it's caused me to spin out. There is always a sudden weight change in the car when they do it, so it's indeed a scripted event and not completely random from their ram behavior. They seem to do it more often against slower moving vehicles, otherwise they just ram.

 

Realistic or not, the behavior still exists. And it's an AI, speaks and recognizes things in numbers, of course things are going to feel scripted. The LCPD felt scripted for the simple fact that they spawn in nearby locations near you outside of search zones, or the fact that the search zone would follow you in a helicopter despite nothing actually following you. An actual human would have to control the cops for it to not be scripted. They won't be able to do much without scripting otherwise outside of the traditional "Follow until player stops, get out, shoot" logic that the previous games had.
