I haven't had anything like that on PS3. Public lobbies on 2x systems.

 

Both have higher performance drives then stock.

That long hover over your apartment is very annoying. Sometimes its just a very long hover though and not a complete freeze.

I've had the game on ps3 completely freeze twice while playing online, where I had to hard reset the console. I'm going to exchange the disc and hopefully that fixes it.

i don't think exchanging the disk is going to do anything since the game never froze before patch 1.05 or 1.06

Yes this happens to me all the time. Now I just set my spawn to last location and haven't froze since. Btw I'm on ps3 too

PS3's have a 2x BluRay drive. They transfer at 9MB/s (72Mbit/s).

 

Most low end USB 2 flash sticks Read at a faster rate... even an SD card from a few years ago will read faster than that lol

I have the same problem as OP. Also on PS3 playing off disc. Weird thing is it only occurs for one of my characters and only when it is loading the character at their property. Freezes exactly as OP states. Switching spawn to last location has fixed this. Once it spawned the character into someone elses garage with all their cars, not mine.

Sometimes if I idle for 5 minutes and come back im frozen. but only in my apartment or garage. Now I have to idle outside

Solution to this problem

 

Clear your GAME cache

 

While the loading screen is up (story loading screen once you started the game) hold down l1 + l2 + x/square(for ps3) and the brightness bar should come up, that will clear the freezing issues

 

Done that and haven't froZen once for 3 days now
