Hey mate... i will get around to doing it eventually, just a lot of information and things that have happened to get to where we are... if anyone has a summary they would like me to put on the first post then please PM me... otherwise i will do it as soon as i get some spare time...

One big collision map can't happen unfortunately, it's too big. Loading just the xbn's from country_01 together uses up 600mb of disk space and 6gb in blender, and is pretty slow on my 560Ti. I'll try and find a decent way to break the map up into a reasonable amount of chunks for easier searching.

@above depending on how many chunks you manage to break it up into maybe different people can be assigned different chunks to search

It's nearly impossible to load all collisions at one time due to high poly models, you can load and save each map part separately.

Where is that? It that at the stadium/stage below the vinewood hills? Also could be a prop for a destroyed helicopter from a cutscene (or random event) that was part of cut content?

Breaking the map up would be fine... what ever you think is manageable for people and they can chose which section they are most interested in... this would be excellent bro.

Yes!

"Collision Models (Grid) Search" going along with all updates since File Hunt's founding...

I'm sure you know (me and) many will support this.

 

Regarding 1st post's update I'd suggest something like AnEvilVet created long ago (things we confirm, things we debunked, glitches?, things under investigation and urgent help needed!), adding ie:

-any relevant confirmed natives (Glokon's link);

-weather cycle;

-tides cycle (not sure if found already);

-weird sounds (I know you're still hunting SD's horns but there are many others (link));

-moon cycles;

-100% triggers;

-other triggers (ursula, yoga, etc.);

-all glyphs found (links - altruists, chilliad, sand, hippies, etc.;

-timed event's full location list (non-mission's ones), like fib shack, sat dishes, etc.;

-3D collision map (grid) search (updated)!.

 

I know you've asked this by pm, but maybe posting (atm) at this thread some ideas can hopefuly give some starting boost to your request.

If you mean during mission, yes. There are 3 physical X's to be found in the same layout as the right side of the Chiliad Mural. The other option for the heist has 2 physical X's in the layout of the left side of the Mural.

 

Maybe someone should check in to these with the collision model viewer thingy?

Also .xtyps, although gforce is doing things with these not sure if we got the alien egg info out yet have we?

I've been taking a break from the modding side for a week or so, but I did take a look for the alien egg, I managed to find it in the xtyp files but found nothing in the xmap files which leads me to believe it's mapped and placed from within the game mission scripts.

 

also given that the prefix for the game files that it's found in has "tc_" in the file name's this would/could indicate "task completion", therefore in order for the game to place and map the objects it would be triggered from completing a prior task or tasks.

 

xtyp = oldschool IDE (object definition)

xmap - oldschool ipl/wpl (object placement)

 

I have many theories regarding what's needed to do in order for the egg to be triggered by the current game but it is quite possible that it could be part of future dlc misssion completion, but unlikely.

 

although a lot of evidence suggests that it's possibly linked to the Yoga, listening to the West Coast Radio station gives us massive clues that allude to the Yoga being a large part of the puzzle, and R* also know that it's not exactly a popular pastime for most players hence the mystery is not going to be solved very quickly.

 

to me, that Chilliad Mural refers to 3 individual tasks and could be about the 3 different game ending scenarios being taken to 100% game completion.

 

the egg's function could even possibly be just a clue to the jetpack location, if there is one ;) ............... and if any of you have watched the Harry Potter films it could appear underwater and/or only reveal it's clue's once it's underwater.

 

the design of that mural is also in a similar style to a puzzle from the MYST series of games, which are 3 and 4 dimensional puzzles that include light and sounds.

 

there are also clues with the 3 UFO locations that allude to the 3 main protagonists characters and their known personal activities/qualities, Trevor flying, Michael doing Yoga and Franklin who is not exactly a believer, now put them in the 3 locations and you have Trevor above Zancudo/Flying, Michael above the Yoga Hippy camp and Franklin on Chilliad not quite believing his eyes as the UFO disappears when getting too close, also look at the Weed guy's missions, Trevor saw Clowns, Michael saw Aliens and Franklin saw nothing but was asked what he saw ................. are we somehow supposed to have all 3 protag's on the ground at the 3 UFO locations at the same time ? Trevor at the Bunker under the lights, Michael at the Hippy camp being abducted, it says beam me up and the UFO there has a tractor beam that pulses, and Franklin stood looking at the illusion.

 

so far only R* knows the answers :r*:

 

Edit: the 4th UFO is dead, just like Michael and Trevor's friend in Yankton ;)

ok, i misunderstood.

 

No, it's not possible to swim in to the ship, although there is a big open hole, there is an invisible barrier that stops you from entering the hull of the ship.

 

as for the containers, no clue, as you cant use explosives underwater.

@tom... i have a little issue with the collision models you are about to post...

 

Basically the models you are posting i gather are just standard .xbn files from the game files?

 

Well what if this false wall we are looking for is triggered to appear, only after 100%? Wouldnt that mean the models will be just the standard new save game files and be untriggered? Or are you applying all scripts and a 100% check to the .xbn files before building these models?

 

I only ask because you posted an image of a collision model with a downed chopper and that is only there after the mission that makes it crash... so it appears we are looking at the models with all game world changes applied yes?

The reason the chopper was there is because I had merged all the xbn files from one directory, and there was an xbn file specifically for the heli that probably gets loaded by a script.

 

Since I'm going to be including every xbn in the models it will probably contain every collision that's ever used (in missions, after 100% etc.).

 

It's ready, but there's a few other things I wanna check off the list to cut down on the number of releases I have to do. I'm busy all day tomorrow but I might be able to post it tomorrow night.

 

edit: I also really need to come up with a new name for xdr2obj since it does way more than just xdr and obj is no longer the default output format :p Any suggestions welcome

cool, just wondering because of the "V's" they were using in the examples on the wiki.

 

Was looking in to Asterisk "*"(Star) because it means unique character, which also linked to Kleene Star, that's how i came across that.

 

All fits in to my train of thoughts, probably wouldn't make sense to you.
