ok guys.. thanks @reoze for making the detailed list of all the scripts containing our weather + clock triggers! I wanted to go over every trigger in his list and make sense of it for you all (well, only in the interesting scripts, lol, there are too many). @tgascoigne delivered beyond my wildest expectations and made a magical tool that extracts the detailed triggers in a convenient format for me to go over, so I really couldn't do anything without him.

here it goes:

ufo.xsc

Time triggers inside: 3am

Weather triggers inside: single place checks for RAIN,THUNDER

altruist_cult.xsc

Time triggers inside: something complex that examines the full date (sec, min, day, month, year), requires more research

Weather triggers inside: none, the word THUNDER appears with regards to an unknown native 0x386f0d25

comms_controller.xsc

Time triggers inside: something complex that examines the full date (sec, min, day, month, year), requires more research

Weather triggers inside: single place checks for SMOG,OVERCAST,RAIN,THUNDER,SNOW

nigel1d.xsc

Time triggers inside: none

Weather triggers inside: single place checks for THUNDER

re_bus_tours.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 6am-7pm

martin1.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 6am-9pm

Weather triggers inside: none

paparazzo1.xsc, heli_gun.xsc, re_abandonedcar.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 7am-7pm

Weather triggers inside: none

traffick_ground.xsc, re_prison.xsc, traffick_air.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 6am-8pm

Weather triggers inside: none

controller_races.xsc, hunting_ambient.xsc, launcher_racing.xsc

Weather triggers inside: none

bootycallhandler.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 6am-2pm

Weather triggers inside: none

stripperhome.xsc

Time triggers inside: check for time between 4am-8pm, and some more complex hour related check

Weather triggers inside: none

mission_triggerer_X.xsc

Time triggers inside: something complex that examines the full date (sec, min, day, month, year), requires more research

Weather triggers inside: none

family_scene_t0.xsc

Time triggers inside: single place that behaves differently for each hour of the day (checks for each separately), another place for 5pm and another for 6pm

Weather triggers inside: none

epscars.xsc, epsrobes.xsc, heist_ctrl_docks.xsc

Time triggers inside: some specific check for the month and year, requires more research

others probably not interesting

Weather checks are very rare, but many scripts use the full date (sec,min,day,month,year).. they all do so in a very similar manner, which is very different from the explicit 3am test in ufo.xsc. to make this shorter here is a list of all of them: agency_heist1.xsc, replay_controller.xsc, mrsphilips2.xsc, re_yetarian.xscdocks_prep2b.xsc, michael1.xsc, fbi4_prep1.xsc, freemode.xsc, fbi4_intro.xsc, assassin_valet.xsc, assassin_valet.xsc, fbi4_prep3.xsc, heist_ctrl_agency.xsc, lester1.xsc, pb_prostitute.xsc, tattoo_shop.xsc, bailbond3.xsc, re_homeland_security.xsc, finale_heist_prepa.xsc, controller_trafficking.xsc, trevor4.xsc, me_tracey1.xsc, vehicle_gen_controller.xsc, launcher_omega.xsc, re_muggings.xsc, charactergoals.xsc, launcher_paparazzo.xsc, re_border.xsc, tasklist_1.xsc, re_rescuehostage.xsc, re_paparazzi.xsc, am_vehicle_spawn.xsc, wardrobe_sp.xsc, re_stag_do.xsc, re_atmrobbery.xsc, agency_heist3a.xsc, armenian1.xsc, re_arrests.xsc, altruist_cult.xsc, am_mission_launch.xsc, player_scene_f_lamtaunt.xsc, taxi_procedural.xsc, bailbond2.xsc, taxi_deadline.xsc, assassin_bus.xsc, re_drunkdriver.xsc, launcher_minute.xsc, savegame_bed.xsc, fbi1.xsc, shop_controller.xsc, friendactivity.xsc, epsrobes.xsc, docks_heistb.xsc, spmc_preloader.xsc, launcher_darts.xsc, agency_heist3b.xsc, startup.xsc, finale_heist_prepb.xsc, launcher_abigail.xsc.. and some others (got tired of typing them here)

* notice that these are all the clock and weather triggers from ALL the scripts, there are no others.

Damn guys... who would of thought, all that time ago when triggers were out of reach... now look what you've created lol

Excellent work from reoze, tgas and talkol on all of this!!

That altruist thunder stuff looks interesting... and when you say it examines the full time and date... do you mean it just checks your current, or it is checking for a specific time and date?

Thank you for your hard work guys :)

Edit: and that comms controller one looks weird... any idea what area or anything it is linked to?

About the altruist_cult...

A phone contact was found that was called acult (altruists) and the phone contact had an ufo type thing shining light at a man... since no one had linked it to anything i assumed it was part of something cut from the game... so, thins mini game ending thing could also ve part of this and either be hidden or cut content.

Great work though reoze and everyone.

Edit: @scooby... im on an s4 and just tap and hold on some writing, then i get a popup asking do i want to copy, paste or select all... i select all... all writing on the screen is highlighted, including the spoiler tags... which you should now be able to read... unselecting them makes them disappear again though.

have you not been on reddit tadd? that acult icon has been found. it's just the icon for the altruists on the dialogue screen. downer right?

Have they shown this ufo and man pic being used in the dialog screen of the brief? Edited by tadd

Here is a list of models that each script loads dynamically through the request_model native: http://pastebin.com/QJyFHzfG

Nothing particularly interesting that I can see, but I may have missed something. The altruist_cult requests imply that it's placing crates and things dynamically which is semi interesting.

No requests for the egg or asteroid :(

Edit: is there no mention of the alien egg or asteroids hashes in the files anywhere other than the actual alien egg and asteroid model?

Its driving me crazy that through all of this we still havent seen a mention of them anywhere.

I thought talkol had managed to get the coords out of xmaps for us already?

most of them.. but our greps for the hashes in all game files havent yielded promissing results.. so they're not in the xmaps (even the parts we dont parse)

You're gonna make me cry talkol!!

Seems very odd to just leave those 2 files there and them have zero use and be completely cut off from all other files.

Edit: and the secret weapon crate... no mentions of this anywhere?

Im getting all sorts going through my head...

Ufo=asteroid

Cracked egg=alien egg

Jetpack=secret weapon crate

And then rockstar removed it all and left these 3 files just to piss us off lol

And here is every "pushi" value that matches a hash in the list Talkol posted, so it's now matching vehicles and anything else that's mentioned in that list.

http://tom.gascoigne.me/pushed_hashes.txt

It's pretty massive, so any extra eyes on it would be great.

Does anyone know what "dt1_05_build1_h" is? It's referenced in ufo.xsc

Also, "prop_epsilon_door_l" is referenced in trevor1.xsc, which is unusual

It wouldn't be surprising if the mural stuff was cut content. The more you guys find, the more it looks that way IMO. Or DLC.

Thanks and keep up with the hard work!

Aaahhh... still no egg, secret weapon or asteroid!!

Excellent work though tgas :)

Also still no mention of the vulkan or nepalm or hind or spsmall or spmed.

Is there any way you guys can distinguish between the code for an in-game website that opens up other missions or unlocks a reward (like Epsilon or Children of the Mountain), and a website that is nothing more than "decoration"?

Just I'm having a hard time seeing how the player can actually interact with the environment in a way that significantly affects the game world, other than breaking empty boxes and smashing garden gnomes, etc. There are no mysterious buttons to press or door panels to insert a key card into for example. We can't even pick up an item to keep in an inventory for later use. We can make a lot of astute observations about stuff we see, but we can't actually DO much with anything, anywhere! This leaves either being at the right place at the right time to trigger an event, or passing through an invisible wall to find a secret area, and....not much else really.

But the internet? That's a different story. We've already seen how browsing in-game sites can lead us to previously inaccessible missions and rewards, so I'm wondering is there anything we've missed? Is there anything in the files that might suggest that there are other "triggers" contained within the code for the GTA internet, apart from the ones we already know of?

Mad Bull gta

Hi I'm not at all good at this, but couldn't R* named the files differently, than what we are looking for? I know the file would be bigger than the others, but could they get around this by making lots of little files all over the place, and make them interact with each other to make a big file?

Yeah, it's possible. I'm not sure how likely this is. In San Andreas the Jetpack was named a "personal transportation vehicle" I believe

Barry is the pro weed guy who gives Michael a puff and Michael starts hallucinating aliens.

Interesting find maybe.

Just so you know. Lots of hash keys are generated by calling push string get_hash_key

My disassembler already resolves pushstr operations, couldnt see anything particularly interesting in those

This file...

sfx\audio_misc_rpf\ss_ac\codename.awc

Is pretty weird when you listen to it... like a lot of 1 word things like "seventeen" "lincoln" and other 1 word things and numbers in a male voice...

Just seemed funny... anyone know what it is?

Carrec is car recording (xvr = Xenon Vehicle Recording), for scripted paths (like chase scenes in missions), so those are probably just to set the location of the spaceship for barry's missions.

Edit: ↓ Yeah I guess we don't, I was thinking of that one Jimmy mission when Michael gets drugged.

AFAIK we just see aliens, what barry calls "monsters"

Yeh i dont remember any spaceships or crafts of any kind...

And im not convinced this is to do with the barry mission, the barry missions are called something different.
