Game File Mystery Hunt...

Well, one theory is that you actually have to figure out a DL code from the clues. Kind of like a cicada type mystery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada_3301

To be quite forward and honest, there are members of R* that are members of Cicada. The clues are in the game to tell you this when you look deeper into the things we went over on last gen.

It could be as simple as figuring out the screen width/height and using that number to calculate another clue, as one of the cicada mysteries had people do.

I don't know, just thinking out loud, but there could be a really, really deep mystery that encompasses GTAV in game and out of game life, that's how the cicada stuff works.

GTAV could just be the first step and the mystery might not have anything else do do with GTAV, including the reward. It could just be the starting point.

EDIT: think about it... GTAV sold more than any other piece of media at the time, shattering records. If you wanted to do a cicada type mystery and make it available to as many of the worlds population as possible then you want to use a form of media that would reach the most people, yes? GTAV is/was the perfect place to seed a mystery of the cicada type.

Maybe the reward is the jetpack ? but it's coming with SP DLC ?

Someone found the jetpack string in 1.12 V executable and then they added more coding with 1.13 update .

They removed the jetpack stuff from V executable with 1.14 update .

However they didn't check the scripts !

The hidden coding added with 1.12/1.13/1.14 updates might be coming with SP DLC .

@XMarqstheSpot I find it interesting that you posted that on the day before the anniversary of the cicada puzzles...

I wish I had the technical background of you guys who started this thread. I wish I could understand how this game was built. It's like DVDs, my favorite part is the bonus feature showing how it was made, not the movie itself. And recommendations on websites or books to start to get an understanding of compilers, engines, coding, etc?

If this is the case, then how would the clues even be found? After all, Cicada 3301 has only been solved by a few people. I find it hard to believe that easter egg would be hidden in such a way that it would take a programmer, mathematician, etc. to figure out what the clues are. If the egg is hidden this way, find a clue that tells everyone what to look for to find the next one. Anyway, this just sounds too complex to hide an easter egg. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think that your theory is unlikely. Besides, if the puzzle has a solution, a DLC involving it would be more likely to happen. Of course I could be completely wrong, so there is really no reason to criticize my post, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

P.S. GTA V's files for the easter egg could be extremely well encoded, and thus very difficult to find due to the data being in an illegible format, effectively hiding the information in plain sight. You also shouldn't get your hopes up.

NEVER FORGET

Somebody on this forum should get this reference. Not that I'm old enough to have taken part in that whole thing anyway since I was born the same year that game came out (1996). Many times when someone thinks something is in a video game and the hunt goes worldwide, it's all for nothing.

Is anyone here able to identify and view the texture image of the paper under the cover of the clip boards, in the current gen game? (or would that be more a game file mystery hunt question)

This may sound dumb if its already found. How may i open .xsc files?

XSC Toolbox.

It only works on scripts exported by Liberty V. If you try to open .xsc script that was exported by OpenIV, it will give you an "Invalid XSC header magic" error.

How do you use xdr2obj? xdr.exe doesn't work xdr2obj.exe throws magic mismatch error.

Drag the xdr/xdd/xft file onto the executable and it will convert it to obj.

This only works on models exported with LibertyV. For some reason scripts and models exported with OpenIV are incompatible with all the converters.

Would that be the fault of the converter programs?

Can anybody here check if there's a possibility the Bravado Tampa might come to V? like a texture or any modding clues files.

I'm pretty sure tadd found the file for the spider Web back in the early days, not sure if anyone found the code relating to it...

IIRC, there was recently something on reddit about the Dinosaur Eye and Purple Skull code...

He's done it to us in our thread too. I think he blocked me from commenting his videos when I called him out. He's a douche.
