Nearly everyone seems to complain about how features from IV are not in V

And I just think to myself

Wouldn't all of you complain about 'copy-pasted' features if they did do exactly that?

I don't remember anyone complaining that GTA III, VC, and SA all had taxi, ambulance, firefighter, and vigilante. Few people would really complain if they kept the features of IV while adding new ones. A few would, because there are people who complain about anything, but it would be an extreme minority.

Huffin-Puffin

I assume the OP, like many other people, has no idea how you develop a game. Just because you created something, it doesn't mean it works. There being a log for a cancelled mission doesn't mean they actually made it. Just because you saw a skimmer it doesn't mean it was ever possible to fly it.

Things get cut during development for three reasons, either it didn't work, there wasn't time or it wasn't fun. They're not cutting content to anger whiny fanboys online, they're doing it to make the game work. Sometimes you run out of time but can finish stuff later and add it as DLC, or sometimes you rework the stuff that wasn't fun or was technically difficult.

Gamers are a pretty entitled bunch generally, but some of the threads on here are insane. They don't owe you sh*t and if you don't like the game they made f*ck off and play something else.

It was so much better made in SA.

When it was just a giant brown tit? No, the new Chilead looks like a mountain, the original didn't.

Better activities could have been added.

Would they have been appropriate though? People in LA play tennis, do yoga, play golf... those activities make more sense, contextually.

Got a real sense of de ja vu from this thread. A longwinded rant about nothing. Seems everyone's doing it these days, must be cool to whimper and whine like a little girl who lost her favourite Barbie.

Our society is f*cking doomed. Miserable blowhard curmudgeons everywhere, who get completely distraught over a video game, but wouldn't f*cking dare even consider the world's ACTUAL problems.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

I don't understand, were you not one of the fanboys defending this game when I said this game was a let down? I see you have a change of heart. We all know Rockstar lied to us. Half the activities are a joke, ocean is a joke, countryside feels like a rush add on, and the whole East Los Santos with the gangs feels poorly done. No random gang fights in the street? This world isn't alive.

At the start everybody thought GTA 5 was a masterpiece, but after a while of playing you start to realize what's missing.

Why the f**k would anyone complain about the really good features from previous GTA titles that would be copy and pasted in GTA V in addition to the new features already in the game ?? It's obvious that most people on here would LOVE that, they would hardly complain about that, it would just mean way more great stuff in the game to see and do.

Did you ever think of that to yourself ? :sarcasm:

Knock knock on that empty hollow of a skull you have.

Just to let you know, Rockstar once again 'cheated' the world size by increasing the field of view. I hiked up Mt. Chiliad from one of the paths, through walking only, and it only took me about 30 - 45 minutes. I thought it would take way longer, looking at the size of the mountain, but it didn't. I agree with pretty much all of your points, we get a big world with nothing to do. No interiors, no activities, nothing. They just cut everything from single player to make it multiplayer only, which isn't fair at all. About 95% of the game's mechanics are broken, nothing works as intended, but it won't be fixed. Don't expect me to be able to try and have fun in a broken game... As you mentioned, the parachutes are a joke, and I'm tired of them, is it so difficult to let me put it on? Why should I let the character (who can't even do anything right) decide when to put it on? I jump off a cliff face, he doesn't put it on, I fall of a ledge, he puts it on, it's so annoying, and just never works.

The trees I guess are more of a limitation, consoles can't support more than 10 or so trees, so we get horribly empty forests.

They cut so much content just to re-sell it as DLC. Rockstar are a part of the typical gaming companies who release broken, unfinished games with 80% of the content cut out, just so they can sell it back and make more money. And before you state it, no, the free DLC was not Rockstar being kind, it was a marketing tactic, they release it for free so consumers might buy anything else they throw at them.

It's getting common these days to go downhill these games.

NFS games were the best back in the old days when Hot Pursuit, Most Wanted, Underground and Porsche Unleashed came.

After NFS Carbon came out, NFS goes downhill. The same happens to GTA. The old III Era GTA games were the best

and still are the best.

There is one point many ignore while discussing disappointments about GTA.

Rockstar always kept both versions PC v/s Consoles different in content and features.

What's unfinished now can be a different product on Later release.

So, when I say About being fooled or heartbroken on expectations it's clearly about Consoles.

In Short:

- Lack of story missions

- Lack of interesting odd jobs

- Lack of some vehicles

- Lack of difficulty

- Lack of interactions with certain game objects

- Lack of map size. Here my issue with vast landscape missing more immersing elements

And That's It. Honestly anything beyond these can only be possible for a capable hardware to compute it with no effect or lags on final outcome.

What exactly is the purpose of these topics?

There's been about 23984734 of them already, and none of them make a difference.

If you don't like the game, simply put, stop playing it. It's a very simple solution.

Does complaining really make you feel better?

Maybe so, they're good as a short pass times I guess. I just would have wished for more crime-related activities like gang/drug wars and vigilante missions, alongside ones that did make it like trafficking, bounty hunting and rampages.

Sometimes I wonder if, in private, the people at Rockstar are just as disappointed with the quality of GTA V as a lot of the players. They clearly had some big ideas that didn't make it and it's always hard to butcher your creation to finish it.

Yeah, I can't help but feel GTA V had a very troubled development cycle, especially considering the time it took for the game to release after the first trailer and the long release delay. Still, that didn't stop the game from getting perfect scores after huge hyping and Rockstar pointing that out on their newswire.

Well the only thing that comes to my mind now is:

Their game, their rules. You don't like it? You can walk away.

A lot of the trees were taken out because of the limitation of Consoles. PC version will be filled with life and trees, and more stuff to do. The new gen consoles will get about 7/10ths of what the PC version will get.

GTAV is like a Lamborghini...

Except it doesn't run like one, but only looks like one.

So if you're one to like superficial traits, then so be it - because I sure don't!!

Fact: If you were promised a car with specific, advertised features - and it turned out it wasn't as advertised - you would be super pissed, would want a refund and probably even sue the dealer that sold you a lemon.

Yes, I'm comparing GTAV to a lemon.

You guys got to stop promoting mediocrity and tell Rockstar how you REALLY feel as opposed to just taking it and shutting up.

GTA6 is determined by its community. Let's make this one a GTA.

Disagree with all your points. Oh and before you read this: i loved both red dead redemption and gta san andreas.

1. Does the game really need Burger shot or Clucking bell? Lets say for example that they add all the things that gta san andreas had except for eating fast food at hod dog stance. Then people also probably would complain about that. Its probably as useless as yoga.

2.This is GTA not red dead redemption. In Gta san andreas was also useless mountain and so what? Think that no one complained about that.

3.The mountain road is not that big as San andreas? Can't the game be a bit different then gta san andreas? So you can't drive big vehicles...and?

4.Did red dead redemption really had a big map? Everything looks so big when you only ride horses. Oh c'mon, you are now overreacting it. EVERY corner something to discover? Probably not. You are either still nostalgic or haven't accept the details that gta 5 have to offer.

5.Why would the parachute be manually on the back? Wouldn't it look stupid to walk around with that in the streets? This is not Gta San andreas.

6.They also cutted out the 3 little flowers in the garden of the old lady like in the trailer. Seriously? Skimmmer is not in the game and so what?

7. Have you not been diving? Maybe you have for a short period.

1. Yes it does, I often visit those in previous games to replenish my health.

2. Lol so because it is GTA, it means that the mountain shouldn't be properly done, what a poor point.

3. The point is, we'd love to take a bus up that route and jump down with the bus and let all hell break loose, but you can't, due to the road, learn to understand what he means, he doesn't want another f*cking SA.

4. Yes, RDR had a big map, are you implying it is a small map? Doubtful.

5. He says he wants it as an option, you apparently can't read, no offense.

6. SkiMMer should've been in the game, they sacrifice so much for a "bigger map" an empty map that is.

7. Exploring the ocean is boring and brings no joy, for a lot of people at least.

If you want to go down this route, we can always find words for counter-arguments.

Down this route? So i can't disagree with the guys posts or else someone will say: "down the road"! And why are you swearing? Can't post without swearing?

1. Well ok, then i will do yoga to just to hear the music.

2. What needs one to do at a mountain? Just because it isn't real life doesn't mean there have to be a trampoline on it just for the fun. Although i agree with the point that mountain feels a bit empty.

3. Oh, just for the bus...ok. Well let me tell you this, if you did things that you could do in San Andreas then it doesn't mean you can also do it in gta V, Can't drive a bus on the mountain? Get over it.

4. Nope, but i think that people overact about the size of the map.

5,Ok

6.The 3 little flowers in the garden of the old lady too because they showed it in the trailer! There are (IMO), more then enough vehicles.

7.I see

Does it REALLY bother anyone that there are no accessible fast food restaurants? Really? No... And the map IS huge, and it IS beautiful. The only big problem in this game is the gunplay mechanics and cover system. The cover system is largely unchanged from GTA IV, and the gunplay mechanics are straight ass. Max Payne 3 had great mechanics. The fact that they didn't put them into gta v is infuriating. But other than that, there's no complaints about this game... Well online is a fun mess, but that's a whole different story

R* didn't deliver. The sad thing is, hunting should be able to happen anywhere. And those aren't even f*cking white-tail deer, they are elk. Something happened in the development department at R* and it wasn't for the better.

Several features that were present in beta were removed from final game. i think rockstar will use them for online or want gamers to pay money to have these features.the next gta will not be anticipated as gta v.because rockstar had told so many lies to us.gta v was the most anticipated game because of san andreas.san andreas made gta popular.hundreds of features were cut from the beta version of the game.the biggest problem is the lack of side activities and exploration in ugly empty barren countryside.

note:No it was GTA3 (2001),not San Andreas (2004) which was a loosed sequel/spin-off to the aforementioned game.
