If you can't land a plane, don't F'n fly!

landing planes is a piece of piss, the game gives the finger to physics.

this is truth, the only game where I had an easier time landing was in Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts.

In Gta, it's literally just lift the nose a tad, and kill the engines. The magical Navy displacement gear will take the rest of the hit for you like your plane weighed three pounds. You can even belly land if you land like a half-decent pilot.

+100!! I hate the tools that rush into the pilots seat, show off in the air with stupid acrobatics, then crash and burn to fail mission, what a waste of time/resources...

Planes are much easier than choppers.

If you can't land a plane may God have mercy on your soul

I remember the first ever plane mission I did in Online.

I was familiar with the controls because of a few missions in Single-Player, but this was when a mission was on the line for someone else, too. It was the Titan of a Job mission on hard. Me and one other guy. That sh*t was hard, being I had never played it so I had no clue how many bad-guys there were - I even got shot right away because I had no idea what the mission held. The other dude died his final time and I managed to finish that long-ass mission.

tl;dr - I banged your mom

So you're saying you're awful. No banging for you :)

I don't understand why people are giving instructions on how to land a plane in GTA Online. It's self-explanatory. Landing gear, land. I'm not an idiot.

I posted some tips. I think piloting is easy too but some of my friends... lets just say when they fly on a mission I just stay out of the plane and wait to restart the mission.

Lol. First time I landed a Titan I was thinking to myself, "What's that scraping sound?" It was only when I got out I realised I'd not put the landing gear down again.

I did a Titan of a Job on hard last night and died, I then watched the guy who took the Titan have to circle the runway 7 DAMN TIMES before making a very bumpy landing.

I would've been annoyed if it wasn't so hilarious.

Titan of a job? Landing Gear? Landing Strip? Base Invaders?

I haven't witnessed anyone trying to land and fail yet but I'd like to..

On "Titan of a job" I had one time the problem that the rudder got shot.

Finally managed to land it after hard work, could not turn the plane to finish it... :'(

took 3 attempts to completed Titan of a Job once.... first the dude crashed on the landing.. i thought, fair enough, it could have happened to everyone but second attempt was just pure bad. a different player fly the plane but crashed into the 2 floors building next to the run way.

the plane wasn't even blow up so we have to wait until it blow up before restart the mission. haha

Titan of a Job? Is that the one where you sticky bomb the Titan, follow it to the airfield and then blow it up just after they land?

It's hard to see with a Titan. I always check underneath to be sure.

Yeah, I do to now. I wish I could get over my issue of flying with the landing gear down and then I'd never have to think about it. It doesn't bother me in stunt planes.

Inner Monologue"...this is it, my chance. Everyone is dead, and I'm on the final stretch. I can prove my worth to the team. We're almost there. I can do this! Just stay calm. Everyone is watching. Just keep your composure and you can do this. Man, how awesome is this going to be when you save the day and in front of all these peo-"

.. instant explosion, death, wasted, mission fail and everyone in the room saw it.

Pretty much, thats how it went down. Luckily the guys whose room I joined were good sports and just laughed it off so we could have another go.

I had to endure falling to my death on the Industrial Survival, thus failing for the team, on the 3/4 stretch of the final wave. I'm pretty confident I would have pulled it off, too. Fortunately it was with my crew, who at the time (save for myself) thought survival was like Undead Overrun in that it was endless waves and the payout just increased the higher you went. I was the only one who knew how close we were to finishing. I just bit my tongue until they found out after we completed it on the retry. Then I just let them laugh at my colossal f*ck-up.

This especially applies to Landing Gear since the docks are a tough place to land that plane. Even if you can normally land a plane you might crash there. If you can't even land the Titan at the giant Sandy Shores runway then you definitely have no business in the left seat of a cockpit virtual or otherwise.

I've seen someone crashland the titen like a mile away from the airfield between traffic lights and electricity poles. Wasn't really an easy job to get it unwedged and just drive it across the street to the airfield...

Jedi Master Tom

Same rule should hold true for driving, but it unfortunately doesn't. Far too often I trust others to drive us around during missions, when i probably should have been doing it myself. I'm not talking about near misses either, I mean, "Dude...that was a wall. it doesn't move. How could you not only fail to avoid it but manage to flip the car and get us wedged in some crazy spot with a 4* wanted level?"

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! I was on a robbing spree with my crew mate, and for the first few stores I was the driver while he ran in and robbed the place. Everything was going fine, and I was consistently losing the police while still keeping my car in good shape.

Eventually he got tired of "doing the hard work" so I figured it wouldn't hurt to switch it up. The first store I rob, he royally f*cks my car up trying to lose the police. I'm talking head on collisions with other cars, under steering on sharp turns and crashing into walls, and just general bad evasion tactics. When all's said and done, my car is is half under water in the LS storm drain and I'm making a payment to MMI to recover the damn thing.

His response to me calling him out on his awful driving: "Well we lost cops, right?"

I haven't seen anyone fail to land an aircraft yet, but I've personally pulled off some amazing landings. Landing a fighter jet on the highway in the middle of LS, on beaches, and on bridges. I had one guy watching me on TV from his apartment even tell me how good of a pilot I was. I'm not going to lie... I was pretty proud of that.

I've landed a lazer on Del Perro Pier, that made me proud myself.
