If you can't land a plane, don't F'n fly!

GTA flying is easy.....too easy.......try Microsoft Flight Simulator Deluxe. Now that's the closest thing you'll get to a real cockpit, unless you have access to a real simulator on whichever plane your training on. Especially jetliners. I know what everyone's talking about I've seen quite a few try to land the Titan with the nose pointed down at a 60 degree pitch at full throttle, then trying to level out at the last minute, with no success. The funniest is watching a noob trying to land the Lazar and hes doing kangaroo hops until he hits the hangar and blows up ( I've seen that twice in the same session )

I've been flying planes in GTA since I was 7

I cry when a low rank noob joins a plane mission I'm in.

I cry even more when the rank 100 supposedly so smart players all join and fu*k it all up and the noob is the only one who gets the job done....

The guy that honks his horn 'get in my car, get in, get in' is the guy that destroys your health and armour by the time you reach the mission.

The guy that gets out the car and runs straight for the plane/heli, getting killed instantly, respawning and again running for the plane, is the guy that crashes on landing.

Then there's the guy that jumps in the buzzard and begins shooting f*ck out of the enemy and every item you're trying to steal while you sit in your car waiting for the words 'Mission Failed'.

It's the main reason I prefer to solo.

When I'm driving, my main goal is to take the passenger to the destination as fast as possible while also attempting to keep all lights on my car working.

If my headlight or taillight breaks on any trip, I've failed.

There was me complaining about all the noobs running off for the plane, while I drove up to where the plane is... and then I get there and while trying to pick people off at a distance with the sniper I'm the one who gets killed....

Is this The Guy?

Meh, that's the trial and error part of the game. I'll usually let it go but doing it continuously will spark an immediate harsh reaction from me lol

don ovdi' island

i remember playing the mission where you had to steal the twin engine planes, another player got the first plane and delivered it safely so all eyes were on me to deliver the second.

as i got close to the objective point, i noticed that the game pretty much wanted me to land the plane underneath the damn cargo cranes at the docks.. I'm like wtf, i couldn't get anywhere close to land it because there was almost no open space to slow down. so i flew in circles for a few minutes trying to get the plane to slow down so i could land. (with out killing the engine) finally i went in to bring the plane down and i managed to get under the crane but i couldnt pull up in time and clipped some sh*t with the wing and blew up, died, mission fail

i was joked out but i'm sure the others were mad as hell hah.

So true, I flew a lot when GTA V first started, helicopters, jets and then, landing planes. It's annoying when you trust someone with the plane and can't land it.

I saw several guys in the mission 'Titan of a Job' going straight at Sandy Shores Airfield, when they notice that they have to land the plane in the landing strip!

Titan of a job? Landing Gear? Landing Strip? Base Invaders?

I haven't witnessed anyone trying to land and fail yet but I'd like to..

Consider yourself fortunate.

It's extremely painful to watch. Especially if you're not.

And especially since nobody gets paid.

Same rule should hold true for driving, but it unfortunately doesn't. Far too often I trust others to drive us around during missions, when i probably should have been doing it myself. I'm not talking about near misses either, I mean, "Dude...that was a wall. it doesn't move. How could you not only fail to avoid it but manage to flip the car and get us wedged in some crazy spot with a 4* wanted level?"

I feel that!

In one mission we're driving to the spot and the driver decides to ignore the sat-nav and drive over the mountains.

I bailed and he died in his car when he drove off a cliff.

Without flying how is someone supposed to improve their landing skills? The two are intrinsically linked unfortunately.

Free roam.

I always ask if anybody hasn't landed a plane when doing Landing Gear. There should always be one newbie flying a plane to get the experience imho.

I usually jump in the Buzzard in the mission 'Landing Gear' and just take out the other helicopters. I'm terrible at flying the planes. I think I need to go back into single player and take a few more lessons, I just can't seem to land.

last night joined a random base invaders... first attempt the noob pilot crashed it so second i took off to get in the pilots seat (at my level and max flying it should be at least obvious i have done it before)

the dumbass who crashed it the first time jacks me out of the plane, so i jack him back and just take off without the turd. the other 2 bail out for what ever reason (noobs....) and by the time they try to get there (mr jacker also destroyed my car out of spite) i had already soloed all the objectives and was on the way to complete the mission with the cargo bob.

most disgusting group of noobs i have encountered so far...

IMO.... yes it might be fun to try and fly... but if you cant **** land or have little experience, LEAVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE IN MISSIONS....

you can learn to fly outside of missions in solo sessions or even take flight school in the single player campaign... i actually owe some of my flying skill to doing that beforehand and actually ****ing learning before i did something to endanger other players...

Don't fly mission planes at least.

You're more than welcome to slam planes straight into buildings on free-roam.

How hard is that to understand?

But I'm not trying to land a plane.

I'm trying to crash into your car or another player's helicopter.

Planes are much easier than choppers.

If you can't land a plane may God have mercy on your soul

I remember the first ever plane mission I did in Online.

I was familiar with the controls because of a few missions in Single-Player, but this was when a mission was on the line for someone else, too. It was the Titan of a Job mission on hard. Me and one other guy. That sh*t was hard, being I had never played it so I had no clue how many bad-guys there were - I even got shot right away because I had no idea what the mission held. The other dude died his final time and I managed to finish that long-ass mission.

tl;dr - I banged your mom

.. instant explosion, death, wasted, mission fail and everyone in the room saw it.

LOL, good interpretation. :colgate: And the original story about hitting the power lines on the home stretch, while sad for dreaded_Verse, is a properly rich experience that GTA0 is supposed to be about. Instead of just mindless killing, it's a nice rich story that we all can relate to. :^:

Pretty much, thats how it went down. Luckily the guys whose room I joined were good sports and just laughed it off so we could have another go.

I wish they would put the dodo back in, that thing was f*cking damn near impossible to keep in the air beyond 20 seconds or so.. but once you got the hang of it, was fun to keep going.

I ask on the mic not if they can fly, but if they can land. Not everyone has a mic so it doesn't always work.

I've had some good experiences though. Low levels without mics tend to stand by the plane so I can fly.

It's not hard to land except maybe on that one mission with the cranes. Some tips: circling around for another go is better than crashing, line up with the airstrip in your approach, drop altitude and put down landing gear before getting close so you don't have too much speed, and you shouldn't be correcting your plane while landing.

It's the opposite for me. I can't fly, much less land a plane for sh*t, but have learned to handle a heli fairly well.

Even with practice, I've never been good with planes in any GTA game except for the Dodo.

I don't understand why people are giving instructions on how to land a plane in GTA Online. It's self-explanatory. Landing gear, land. I'm not an idiot.
