Titan of a job? Landing Gear? Landing Strip? Base Invaders?

I haven't witnessed anyone trying to land and fail yet but I'd like to..

How hard is that to understand?

But that's why I wear a parachute. It's not my fault that I'm the pilot! :D Lol.

Same rule should hold true for driving, but it unfortunately doesn't. Far too often I trust others to drive us around during missions, when i probably should have been doing it myself. I'm not talking about near misses either, I mean, "Dude...that was a wall. it doesn't move. How could you not only fail to avoid it but manage to flip the car and get us wedged in some crazy spot with a 4* wanted level?"

All of the above.

Even worse on Titan of a job, since you can still complete the mission with one plane on Landing Gear/ Landing Strip. (Forget which one)

GTA could match you with strangers in a better way.

My suggestion is that the game lets you anonymously rate other players after each mission/race/survival, and they can choose to anonymously rate you.

If you 'like' a player, and they have 'liked' you, then the game automatically suggests them as a contact when you are both online and you are starting an activity.

This way you will end up taking part in activities with players you want to, and you like, more often. And they don't even have to be your friends and crew mates.

It would be good to start building a team of people you like, and have liked you in turn. You'd probably end up working together randomly in free-roam too, especially if the blip signified they were a 'contact'.

There's a time and place for learning how to play, which isn't on a mission where you're trying to do something you haven't learned how to do yet. Play free roam, do races, whatever it takes to learn when other people aren't counting on you to already know what you're doing. And if you don't know what you're doing, don't take the job away from someone else who actually does know how to do it properly, that's being selfish at the expense of the people you're playing with.

And there's also Single Player of course, which gives you a chance to practice playing the game without anyone else's ass being on the line.

I don't get too upset, plus there's something comforting about those unspoken group feelings of "we're doomed". I'm honestly willing to let people practice, and it can be pretty damn entertaining sometimes. As long as they don't force attempt their massive failure more than once I'm fine with it.

Pretty sure sending a friend request does the exact same thing.

Hey, how about this for a suggestion, IT'S ONLY A GAME. They spent their money on it same as you did.

I never suggested anyone violating this policy shouldn't be allowed to play the game, they're certainly allowed to be douchebags if they want to, I'm just stating the simple fact that you shouldn't try to do something you don't know how to do on a mission where other people are counting on you to already know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing and you try it anyway (with the exception of playing with friends) then you're an asshole. And I'm talking mission critical things here like flying a key plane when you don't know how to fly/land.

It's a free country and people are free to be as big an asshole as they see fit, but it should be established anyone doing this is exactly that, which you would incorrectly seem to take issue with. Either way this isn't worth any more of my time, but if you disagree with what I've said then you're wrong. People should learn how to play when other people aren't counting on them if they aim to be considerate of others, not everyone cares about being considerate but some of us do, and if you don't you aren't worth talking to.

Also while were on the subject, after a long and difficult time we've been having with American Exports I finally lose the wanted level while in the cargobob, so I finally pick up the container and all my teammates are already dead so I'm thinking home stretch! Little did I know about the giant power line tower that was looming in the distance and I was flying a little too low so long story short by the time I noticed it it was too late.. instant explosion, death, wasted, mission fail and everyone in the room saw it.

Without flying how is someone supposed to improve their landing skills? The two are intrinsically linked unfortunately.

"Pretty sure sending a friend request does exactly the same thing."

Maybe I'm just not as social but I don't want to befriend people through the Xbox menus all the time. Also, I'd probably ignore most people that sent me 'friend' invites too. That's why I think it should be anonymously agreed on both sides - and specific to the game too.

Everyone makes mistakes, I've certainly made my fair share, but I've also spent hours on end in Single Player and Free Roam online just flying various vehicles around the map, participating in land and air races by myself just to practice my driving/flying, all so that I'd know what I'm doing when the time came and other people were counting on me.

It's just a game but we all like winning, and losing because someone inexperienced took the job away from someone who knew what they were doing is stupid.

Put in your time playing and learning by yourself until you're at least competent before you try to single handedly pull off some key aspect of the mission, and if you screw up at least it won't have been a given that you'd fail before you even started.

And I wasn't talking to the guy I quoted when I said all those "you"s, I just meant people in general, it just seemed worth quoting because I supposedly know what I'm doing and it hasn't stopped me from making some pretty embarrassing mistakes.

Most of these threads on forums are people conplaining. If I do a mission someone I dont get mad that they fail because I fail sometimes for mistakes but its just a game. Can't believe these people are complaining about this sh*t.

Some people take it too seriously, it's a game, if you find it pissing you off THAT MUCH, something else in your life is at fault, not a silly game.

My most embarrassing fail on a mission? Cant remember what mission it was, but there were 4 of us, we all spawned by the side of one of the rivers next to a bridge, jumped into my car and let one of the randoms get in the passenger seat, forgot I'd just upgraded the engine, put my foot down, accelerated like f*ck off the side of the bridge into the river, finally managed to get out of my car but got caught in the current and washed down stream for a couple hundred meters, by the time I got out, found a car and started to make my way to the mission objective, the randoms had pretty much finished the job. Moral of the story - even people who "know what they're doing" will f*ck it up occasionally.
