it barely works, i got a star for killing a player in the desert, with a silenced pistol

and dont do it to all your weapons, only the best one in its class

It's a waste of money if you only have enough for car upgrades and need them. Not a waste of money in general though. It does reduce the distance at which cops and other hostiles hear you - also reduces distance at which players hear you.

It's really for team death matches. However, it is also helpful in gang attacks. For some reason the cops don't respond to the gang shooting at you, but as soon as you return fire, wanted stars.

Mmm, I like the silencer because it reduces the recoil and makes your dot in the DM invisible, unless another player sees you shooting

It's only useful in Deathmatch. But as soon as you start doing well and become the Power Player your blip shows up on the map for everyone to see anyhow.

 

Deathmatch is very poorly done in this game.

while shooting it in free mode won't attract as much police attention as an unsilenced weapon would, killing players or cops attracts police whether you use a silencer or not

it's like every1 has wifi pacemakers informing the cops of a casualty or something

I've never had the cops come after me for doing a gang attack, even when the gang attack was in the merryweather base. and I only have 1 weapon with a silencer that I'll use when I want to stealth kill an npc...

Only weapon I recommend silencing is the first sniper rifle you unlock. Otherwise the silencer is pointless for freemode since everyone can see your white dot anyway.

I don't know about the other weapons but I can confirm a silencer on the tier 1 sniper rifle is a legitimate purchase.

some, according to the stats any weapon gets a slight decrease in damage and range when using a silencer

IMO it's hardly noticable, if at all, even on the autoshotgun

I only use it when some1 gets really close so the slight decrease in range and damage is negligible IMO

 

I have silencers on my auto shotgun, advanced rifle and sniper rifle and it didn't really change anything

besides hiding my blip on deatmatches which is a big plus

Slight drop in damage with silencer equipped but not enough to really make a difference. More of a cosmetic mod imo.

I prefer using big differences to great effect

as in not being seen on radar in deathmatch which is a lot more useful than doing 0.01 % extra damage

in free roam there's no real competitive play anyway it's all so random and chaotic most of the time

besides if we both have a sliver of life left that single shot is going to kill you, silenced or not.

If i like the silancer sound better, why is there waste of money to buy it?
