Only doing wheelies at beginning straight and after 2nd dirt corner. Guess I do lift off little through a couple of the the road corners....had some close calls

If you were using the Bati I could understand it, I could never get the Akuma to get a decent wheelie out of it, except for the starting of a race.

That's good to know. I don't wheelie, just feels too awkward and I've always been doubtful about how effective it was.

Raced some UKcrazy88 guys the other day and they were monumentally fast on the bikes. Smoked Rage and I well and truly, tho we were doing fine in the cars.

They were bang on the wheelies and it seemed to be making enough difference that I thought I'd have to start trying to master them. I don't particularly want to...

Not saying it doesnt work...just isnt for me...especially on dirt or curvy tracks. My absolute best track is downtown underground and i can run an absolutely flawless lap on an akuma and got many many wins from it but i got up against these three crew members on bati's and i swear they were all doing wheelies for the entire lap...they all three smoked me like it was a stock bike. So it does work...but it is just something im not gonna bother with.

Hi guys!

I was just wondering if any of you fine folk lean forward on the bikes to go faster down the straights and round the bends. Or is it just me?

I know that my time of 1:59.172 is about 3 or 4 seconds off your guys fastest times. But it seems to work for me ok. I know at the moment im loosing prob about three seconds on the dirt. Think I just need to work on my lines and ill get a much better time.

Leaning forward makes the bike really twitchy. But if done right you can carry buckets of speed through the tarmac corners.

I hope this might help any of you that want an alternative to constant wheelies.

Yes, leaning forward does make you faster. On the opposite side of things, if you are on a jet ski, hold back the entire time and it makes you faster in the water.

I leaned forward for that entire track. The key in the dirt is to avoid the dark patches as much as possible. Im hoping zero will post that vid here so people can see what my line looks like...though like i said this vid is 2 seconds off my best time. Once it is up i will see if i can point out the mistakes that lost the two seconds.

Thank's for the replies guys.

It's good to know that I'm doing something right........

My only problem now is I have the 'Simple' issue of putting a faster lap together to get up to RRR standard..

GULP!!!!!

Ah, it did seem like they were fairly effective Luap, unfortunately. Was just hoping that it was maybe milder than I feared. I got left behind on the long straight at the start of Grand Tour and was thinking that there might've been a decent bit of slipstream involved.

Not something I really want to bother with either, oh well.

I'm a serial leaner. I do need to work on coming out of it to correct my track position as I have a tendency to just grit my teeth and smash into things rather than sacrifice momentum. Obviously not the best tactic.

Won a lot of races on my Akuma but I just seem to have lost the knack over the last few weeks. Perhaps patience....

well your still outpacing me, ive only had 1 (out of maybe 15 laps total) under 2 min lap on this track but i didnt quite manage to get a photo of it in time and currently 2:01 is my best proven time.... not had much time to get online this week and psn being down yesterday cut out some time i ahd free to try and get a better lap time

its a [email protected]&%$ of a track though and i seem to either get a good run through the tarmac, then mess up in the dirt, or i get a nice smooth run through the dirt after ive hit something in the tarmac and died (usually pushing too far on the corners)... seems that i cant quite connect my good first half and good second half runs in one lap... not sure how much my patience will last trying to get under 2 mins, gonna be a big spread this week, but thats why its called a challenge right??

hopefully ill get a few runs in tonight before the dealine cut off.. think i have till about 4am my time to get a submission in, but i doubt ill be trying that hard considering i need to make up 6 seconds... just dont wana be the only guy over 2 min hahahaha

Nope but we take it on trust that its a stock bike... but considering Luap is number 26 in the world with that time on a stock bike.. im wondering what he could do on a custom bike... i think those top 25 place might be in danger if he get a good run on a fully modded akuma.... maybe you should give it a try luap, I think most of us have seen the 1:55 now and i presume you have a pic.. why not push the boundaries and see how fast you can go with all the power of engine mods behind you...

Well... Guess GunWrath went on another locking spree. Our "PS3" has since been locked. Who could participate in a Crew vs Crew challenge? I'm only needing 3-4 on the PS3 side of things. Will be setting up a challenge against APEX shortly. Just trying to work out the time and date.

I can if needed :)

PM Gunwrath and ask why it was locked, I'm sure he will fully explain if asked in a reasonable manner .

EDIT - Wait a minute didn't you guys request that topic to be locked as you have this one now ??

Don't worry, I gave up after about 15 tries. I was getting fed up and did not want to get burned out. So 2:03 is my best and I am not trying for better. I don't like that track.

I will await another challenge.

I did about a month ago. If he only gets on once a month, maybe he should consider stepping down. I figured since he hadn't locked it yet, it had some significance.

Ill not mutliquote as it will be too long...

@Don - that could be a point, ive PM'd him to ask (in true RRR gentlemans fashion).. Ashley did also point out the Apex member posted a link to external site, which may have been considered a breach of the rules.. But if GW took a month to lock it im not expecting a fast response from him, I imagine he gets alot of spammy PM's to read through (knowing what its like to mod a forum, it happens.. alot, but i respect its not easy)

@grnd, i know what you mean, not my fav track, i jsut wana try and get myself under 2 mins on it as that was always my aim, doubt ill get near luap this side of 2014 lol

@TBC (our fearless and mighty crew leader) in regards your first post i would... lulz on your last post... this is all..

go on fella, im sure you can shave a second or two off that time and get yourself in the top 25... of 20million players its a pretty impressive feat...

just a shame it doesnt show your crew on the leaderboard (on social club) lol

Oh the joys of having 'someone else' be the mod... thus why we should probably go the hosted forum/domain route that GrndZero suggested a while back.

I almost didn't try to get a better time last night, but that damn challenge kept calling my name... so I did... and I'm pretty sure I got as close as humanly possible to breaking the 2:00 minute mark without actually breaking it!

Frustrating yet satisfying that I knocked a good 4 seconds off my previous best time.

I need to work on my hairpin turns (the first 3 arrow turn in the middle of the race soon after you start going off-road, and the last 2 close to the end of the track)... as I know that I need to take them much faster to break into the under 2 minute threshold.

I only got 2.04 on my 10 lap try with the Bati. Been meaning to give it another go on the Akuma, confident of getting seconds off but not sure I will get round to it if I've got mates on tonight. My bro has a pic of his 1.57 so I can post that up, he was gonna have another go as well....

I was in the top 100 for Grass Route 2 on Friday, checked now and rank 254 !! need to shave a few secs off that later !!

Also I am currently rank 17 for an air gta race lol don't ask me which one but I have atendancy to check leaderbords after every race and noticed I was 17th ? only ever played it once so god know how !!

In regards to fastest lap times can anyone confirm if having catch up on and giving the pack a 30 second headstart (as long as lap race !!) that it can shave time of your 2nd plus laps ? what I mean is does catch up only slow down 1st place or does it speed up last to a higher speed than normal ? sucks if it does ! cos my theory would be if you want some of the fastest lap times it might be worth doing a RRR1 session where we don't all go at the beginning and perhaps leave in 20 second intervals, this means who ever leaves last will have a good chance of making a fastest lap even faster (does any of this make sense !!?? :) )

Its a good concept Don but I think u were right forst time that it slows 1st rather than speedin up last... Personally the best way would be a racin partner that you can really stick with, use the same car and stay in slipstream throughthe whole course, overtaking each other and slipstreaming, rinse, repeat, (or a shake and bake as t0lly calls it) as that does give a significant speed booost

It does speed up the players in the rear in my experience. I have wrecked out and been a half lap back and walked them all down in a matter of three laps. However it is much more productive to use the slipstream trick...its why we run these challenges solo.
