I would have thought they would wait until next year since its the 10 year anniversary but i guess since GTA V just came out they need to release it now since its still has hype .

Didn't get too much into my vice city mobile version, wasn't really the same as playing it on the pc. Still a nice little app to have (wonder what requirements it will have)

Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.

Great, CJ and others will get fingers.

I really wish that when they make updated versions of this that they would update the PC versions as well. I know that it's an older game, but I just cannot justify paying for it again to get a few better features and much worse controls. That was the reason why I bought it for PC in the first place. To be able to have the advantage of higher quality gaming experience plus because it could be updated whereas the PS2 version couldn't.

Holy effin' CRAP, i mean, WOW, i'm impressed by the fact they could optimize it enough for mobile devices, San Andreas used MUCH MORE RAM AND CPU, i didn't even believe they would be able to fit it into a phone :3

Lock n' Stock

I thought they'd wait until the game's tenth anniversary. Nice to know though. I did have fun with the iOS versions of GTA III and VC, but I honestly prefer them on consoles.

I guess I should hurry up a little with playing GTA III and Vice City. This is a rather unexpected announcement, since October 2014 would be the 10 years anniversary of the game. It's still great, though! I would like to play it on my phone, but thinking about it further, the space is quite limited. But, who knows, maybe I can do some tricks...

Edited by Andreas.

Hope it comes onto Windows Phone.

I think it mentions Windows devices on the article so i assume it will be on there too .

Ahh, it does, that's radical. I didn't think Rockstar would even acknowledge the mobile OS.

GTA SA in 2004 was made for single core desktop CPU's and weaker graphics cards. You now have dual, quad and octa core CPU's on mobile, even if they're mobile they'll outperform a single core desktop CPU...

Amazing news, however I doubt my dual-core Xperia L will run it properly. We'll see, it seems to run almost anything, even VC very smoothly.

If phones could run superior version of VC and III, it was more than obvious that SA will work too. There's not much difference between them.

Wow, didn't expect that. Great news. But they could have already post the requirements for SA mobile. I can just hope they will be close to VC's.

I agree, seeing as how I've recently started playing the PC version. That said, the community was able to port over the more detailed car models and reflections found in the Xbox versions of III and Vice City to their PC counterparts, so I'm sure those still dedicated to San Andreas on the PC will work on porting over the improvements.

Also, it's not like the mobile version will be able to use ENB series or any similar mods, so we still have an advantage. :)

Mostly that they'll exist, I assume. Its been a while but I only remember a couple of missions having checkpoints back in the day...

If someone came up to you on October 29, 2004 and told you "Kid, you'll be playing that on your phone in a few years time" what would you say? My phone back then could barely handle Snake. It's things like this that really make me appreciate the growth of technology. The vast expanse of San Andreas in my pocket. Makes you wonder what will be out in ten years time. Will we be playing IV on our phones in four? Only time will tell.
