Aus version

Today GTA vice city has been passed by the australian censors. The only stuff to be edited is the hookers just like in GTA3. Unless you wanna pay a bit extra for some vitual humpty dumpty ( are you that desperate?) the aus version will be ok. The release date is 29th of nov. To read the article:

Whatever gets banned in the game isn't the point I think. As mentioned by somebody else in the forum, as an individual person, I think I should be the one who should decide whether a game is suitable enough for me to be playing it. The fact is, if people play this game and then want to go out and beat a cab driver to death with a baseball bat, then they have something badly messed up with them, and I doubt that GTA would have started it.

Sorry if this topic was old but i hadnt seen it, i dont understand the censorship crap, i knew this was gonna happen badly. But yeah id rather have the proper version but i mean its not cause i want some, um, HUMPTY DUMPTY action lol, but i really just want the original. I remember peeps were offereing to pay $300 aus dollar for the original GTA3. But its kool, if it comes 29th or 28th Nov. And it gets pushed bak i will get it else where   i mean the whole copied version i would do, but i wanted the shop version. I dunno bout u all but i think the aussie crap has gotta stop, who can we bloody send the letters of complaints to ??? Anyways that was my novel of crap.

as a 19yr old in a democracy where at 18 i am considered to be of age, therefore i have an adult mind. i am capable of sound thought and reasoning. so why the f*ck does some tight arsed closed minded fa**ot have the right to tell me what i can watch/interact with, and what affect that will have on my mind.

 

i dont care  about the hookers, pft, all u see is the car bouncing away, and a few comments and groans. big deal, if im struggling that much i'll just load up gta3 on da pc (after changing regional settings) and cruise on down to the red light district in my lambo. or maybe ill just load up kazaa and d/l sum genuine porn, or if im really strugling go see me girlfriend...

 

my point is that i am an adult in a civilised democratic country  and im gettin told that i cant play a  video game

Well you sort of just contradicted yourself there.

 

If you were open minded and capable of reasoning you would be able to see from the perspective of the censorship board and all those angry parents out there. You would be able to acknowledge the reasoning behind editing out sex crimes in a video game. All I see is a bias perspective from a video gamer who doesn't like a game censored.

 

Also using the term 'fa**ot' to insult some one doesn't really affirm that you're mature and able minded as an adult.

Just curious, in other countries other than my own ( Australia ) is there a age limit on how old the person must be thats buying the game, im unsure of age limits outta Aus and stuff like that ?? Lemme know..

I'd just like to add another ramble to this thread:

 

I know that what's being edited out the Australian version is quite small compared to the rest of the game, but as a gamer I just like to know that I'm playing the whole game... beacuse if you go half assed about it, you'll always wonder.. "What if?"  

 

It's the little things that make the game ya know? Pulling out the prostitution part takes a little chunk out of the whole notion of GTA being a crime game.

well yer, my post started as a rant and then i changed half way thru, tho wat i sed i meant.

 

in regards to gta being a crime game etc. u cant rape chicks and so on, thats a very low class and wide spread as muggings and so on, so if it was a tru crime game would it not have this and others, like petty theft? dont get me started on flying planes filled wif passengers around. so these are 2 extremes of crime and both arent in gta, i wont be crying my self to sleep over that, (seems less than half a game now).
