It's just the angle, the render is just showing left and right, while the in-game picture is head on, so you can't really judge.

Possibly. It looks thinner, though, but I'm probably wrong or something. If Fidox could've taken a picture of the first model (from the first post) and done a head-on shot, it could've solved many of my questions

He looks the exact same in both, model and texture wise.

 

Just that in the picture above, Tommy's in a suit and wearing glasses (and he looks more pale because I think the person who took the picture is using ICEnhancer or something similar).

Yup ICE throws off the skin color. The dimensions on the face are identical though.

The cheekbones in the first picture look much more "thin" and more true to the original Vice City model, whereas the second one has much "rounder" cheekbones, for lack of a better word

 

Whilst the second attempt the cheeks were only flattened to match the original model more.And the are below it was altered too for the same reason.

So it's not true that the first version was more accurate.It contained a lot of misplaced bones just to make him look better.

It's a shame that there doesn't appear to be any real-life Hawaiian shirts that're similar to Tommy's down to the exact. Of course, you get look alikes, but nothing close to the original.

I'm liking it. The only thing wrong with it is the eyes. Just seem a bit.. uh... big I guess? Not BIG, but just a bit less squinty?

Amazing! :D I have seen alot of Hd remakes of characters and i must say that your are the best I have seen! :D But usually the remakes get scraped so I really hope this doesnt happen here :( Keep up the good work :D Btw are you planning on doing any more characters? like CJ?

I've been working on the Tommy model tonight, trying to make him able to rig perfectly probably OK-ish.The proportion of his head is "slightly" different from Niko's so I had to rescale his face here and there.Here's the result...EkONBgX.jpg

Thanks :) And yep, it is.I just finished Liberty City stories. I know it's a bit late, but I never had a ps2 or psp.

Anyway, I think Tommy's not gonna be rigged fully.The model I posted, now shares nearly zero resemblance with him.It's a shame, but it's either fully rigged or looks right.

Well, taking a character from 3D to HD can make a significant change in their appearance. It's not going to be perfect, but it looks nice, apart from the face being quite long.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the undershirt, but could you make a separate version of the shirt wheres there's no undershirt? It's just closer to the original.

It's just a temporary solution, originally made for my Claude mod.I'll try to avoid using it, and giving him a necklace and of course the chest hair.

I'm a little curious. so how do IV head models work? In one of your photos it shows the model with a neck and part of the chest:

And then the actual clothing model also shows a neck:

So is the head model placed over or something? I just want to know how it works.

IV heads have the neck and part of the shoulders/chest on the same model, so when the head moves around it doesn't become glitchy/have holes in it (the neck/shoulders stay static for this), however it doesn't have any of that on the shirt/clothing model, Fidox probably just added that to get the geometry/measurements and such right.
