Franklin's Garage :-(

Recommended Posts

So I did the first assassination mission with Franklin, not knowing it would lead to a new house in the hills.

How do I access the car in his aunt's garage now? I poured a lot of money into that thing and it took me ages to get the right look.

With GTA V, you're supposed to read every fact on the web before you start playing so you don't run into glitches and problems later on down the road. Everyone has problems with this game, it seems. Losing stuff, modded cars, GTAO, hangers, helipads, money, etc. If you want to educate yourself on the game, you're supposed to read every fact, everywhere online including Youtube and other forums and places you search through Google. Most people will lose sh*t if they don't play the game a certain way. You can even lose Michael and Trevor if you decide to do so on the very last mission, "The Third Way." I chose Deathwish so I can keep all three characters and own as many cars as I have. Another good tip is to NEVER do ANYTHING with cars, helis, hangers UNTIL you 100% the game. Or you WILL lose stuff, it's inevitable.

Ignore Militia's post if you want to avoid spoilers..

as for the car, it should just transfer across.. at least it did for me..

I guess you lose it, but not sure about it. Maybe I'm going to check, but don't remember the exact location of the house. Anybody knows?

You can't open the garage after the moving to the mansion, but have you checked if your car is already there?

You can ignore me, keeping in mind everyone has glitches and problems. In the meanwhile, I have not lost a single car or any f*ck ups in my game...

Secondly, I don't even know what a spoiler is. I am just telling the guy how to PLAY THE GAME safely without losing things and wasting time and money.

Nor have I, right through to 100%..

Besides, I said to ignore your post to avoid spoilers, not avoid your post.(full stop)

and the spoiler is the bit that tells the OP what happens at the end of the game, clearly he hasn't got that far yet, so that is a spoiler..

Oh, ok, haha. Thanks for the information! I figured everyone wants to know the right path to take, though. It makes or breaks yor money and gameplay imo. Very important to play stock markets and sh*t properly too.

I'll have to find and mod the same car again then. How annoying.

Indeed.

Same thing happened to me, you can ride by Franklin's old pad, and you can hear his aunt shouting 'Don't come round here no more!', but you ain't getting in the garage. I had an Adder in there.....

At least playing as Franklin, you can buy Los Santos Customs, and then mod another car for free.

Ah well, I've given up on trying to find another Stanier to mod the same. I loved that thing, racing green lowrider saloon with the pepperpot muscle-car wheels, but it feels like a change in Franklin's tastes now his home is so lavish. I replaced it with Poppy Mitchell's Cognoscenti Cabrio (first one I've seen in game) which I resprayed a dark metallic brown.

'course, if we had loads more garage space I'd have both...

Yeah Staniers are rare as hell in my game. I've only seen them in spawn twice, and driving nearly any car besides a Stanier seems to change their spawn to something else. Also hold on to that Cabrio if you like it, as it's the only one you'll see on the street.

I bought this, modded, sitting in impound whenever I want it. Really good car for a "sedan" type. High end one, it's great!

Well, I have no idea if your car will still be in the garage, but I can get you inside...

1. Drive to your old house and park your vehicle in front of the garage door. Make sure the vehicle is touching the door.

2. Exit your vehicle.

3. Now you want to get some distance away from the garage. The reason for this is because you need the garage door to reload. If there was an obstacle touching it (the vehicle you just parked in front of it, in this case) it will reload open rather than closed. Run through your old backyard, hop the fence, run across the street and enter the 24/7 store. That should be enough distance (I just tried it).

4. Head back to the garage. The vehicle you arrived in should still be parked there and the garage door should now be open. Hopefully your old car is still there.

Incidentally, I use this same method to enter Michael's home as Franklin or Trevor. Park against his garage door, then I leave the area and return, entering his house through the now-open garage.
