My flying skill won't go up?

I've been in the air (in a Frogger) for almost an hour now and my flying skill won't go up.

Any tips on how to speed this up? Sick of wobbling all over the place during air races.

I've heard that taking off and landing boost it faster than just flying around - you may want to try that. Or winning air races.

But just flying should work too. Maybe in a helicopter, if you only hover, it doesn't help? Certainly flying horizontally should do the trick. It is very slow though, I won't lie to you.

It's 1% every 10 minutes in air, half an hour of landing flying for 1 or two seconds then landing and repeating will max out flying

i did the taking off and landing technique for like 10-15 minutes and my flying skill never went up at all

Are you sure? The best way to check is go on the socialclub and look at your stats there or better yet, compare with your friends or crew member...it will actual show you a numerical value and not just the bar which many times looks like it's not moving when it is.

i had almost 2 bars filled on the flying skill when i started and when i finished it didn't fill up at all

Go to the airport and steal a Titan. Repeatedly take off and immediately land- "bunny hopping" around the run ways. Takes about 40 minutes from zero.

The bigger the airplane, the less the control, but, the higher the gain.

If you get in a stunt plane, it takes a couple of hours from zero.

You have to land the plane properly on the runway which means going in the same direction as the lights moving along the runway on the map.

Also not true. You just gave to LAND.

There's an air race by Trevor's airfield, do it on your own, set it to 1 lap, I maxed my flying skill in about 15-20 minutes.

Earned alot of RP while doing it too, about 3k per race.

My flying skill never increased in real time but eventually I signed in and was an ace. Flying air races seems to boost it pretty quick and you see the progress in real time, plus it rises much faster doing air races from what i saw, don't quote me though I didnt have a calculator and a stop watch at the time.

You could always skip the mind-blowingly boring ways of grinding it and try some air races and death matches.

Alright, let me try to solo some air races, then. Although, not sure that will work. Will I need a buddy to let me win the races?

The bars won't move unless you go up to a certain percentage. Basically if its broken up into 5 chunks you need to go up 20% on flying skill before it will show. May be more accurate on social club stats

Finally maxed it out. After trying all the methods recommended, I can say without a doubt -flying in races is definitely the fastest way.

To be specific the race "Blowing In The Wind" by Trevor's airfield.

Just do 1 lap races by yourself. You'll max out in around 30 races or so.

Miss Malevolent

I just put a rubber band on the R2 button while I was in a helicopter, then went to bed. Maxed when I woke up.

I agree with HiddenStreet. I did the "Blowing In The Wind" race a couple of times and allthough it's not the most fun thing to do, it's (by far) the most effective way to train your flying skill.

I don't know if there's a better air race track, so I keep doing this one untill someone else comes up with a better one.
