I'm currently level 30 and trying to rank up, I currently have job offers from Ron, Lester and Martin. I load up the mission and invite players,

Sometimes nobody turns up so I have to do it alone but I think it is hard going at it alone sometimes especially these missions. It's ok to do a Gerald mission alone because they're not that hard.

A few times I've had people come join me on a mission. A mission that came up was the Lester mission where you need to take a chopper to the top of the skyscraper and collect the briefcase, I told the people in the game we need to get a chopper from that place around the corner but they try and climb up the building, whilst I sit in the car Beeping them to get their attention, they know its not gonna work. That's one thing that annoys me.

Another one, Martin mission where you need to get to him upstairs in the mansion by parachute or helicopter, a person joins me and disregards this, driving straight into the gateway and getting us killed. Will people not read??

I feel the players I'm playing with aren't using their heads. I was driving along the highway fast on the way to a mission and one player decides to jump out the car and kill himself, costing us a life!! WTF?

And if the mission doesn't go their way, they exit! I need to be playing with people who want to complete the missions and not mess around.

I done a Lester mission with a friend yesterday called Quarry Quarry. I picked up one van and delivered it, he died picking the other up. I went back for it and he had jammed it on a hill against a wall! There was no way of moving it and eventually it became damaged.

Does anyone want to play? PS3. MikeMurph1

Too many people messing around.

Find a good crew that communicates well.

What do you expect when you carry out essentially military operations with a ragtag group of twelve year olds programmed just to shoot anything in front of them?

One of the things that I get up in arms about(I won't say angry :)) is, you join someone for a mission and they insist you jump in their car even if you have your own, they want to drive and show you how good at it they are. Well of course, they're crap and like so many GTAer's, don't know the difference between driving fast, and driving quickly. So, it's crash crash, thump bang, spin flip, cops shoot, crash all the way to the job and by the time you get there, all your armour was wiped out 3 mile ago and you're now lucky if you have half your health. They drive the car straight into the middle of the scene, stop, you get out and die before you close the car door.

Then on the fail sheet, they select 'continue' and vote for 'down the drain'.

Lol people on GTA can be as dumb as a rock. They also lack Imagination.

That Skyscraper mission, I call Merryweather and have them fly me up to the Skyscraper across the street where I snipe the guys on top of the opposite skyscraper. The I parachute onto the top of the site where the briefcase is on and kill everybody.

I slide down the crane afterwards and mission complete :D

Now that I have the Buzzard though...

It's worse when they select "Restart" and you're forced to either deal with the whole scenario again or get a bad sport for leaving.

Disagree.

It's one of the biggest gripes I have with missions.

In single player they tell you - or give you major hints what to do. In Multiplayer you're on your own but you don't realize this until you've tried and failed a few missions.

For example, when needing a helicopter I thought I would go the the strip in sandy shores - no helicopter. You need to know exactly where a helicopter will spawn for the missions.

Worse still, some missions give bum advice, like the one where one of you is suposed to snipe while the other gets to the helicopter. I find it just as easy if both players go straight for the helicopter.

The missions should give more help for players at all levels. IMHO

I am with Cooperative Union X.

Thy only have 270 members but whenever I do a mission or even a race they always join and in free roam they always have your back.

In missions we are extremely organized and it is rare that we fail.

on a side note- you will level much faster racing.

Not really, you can just select "freemode" at the voting screen and not be penalized. It will direct you to free roam even if a majority of the people vote for something else...

Some missions are a bit strange to figure out. Take 'extradition' for example. The one where you are supposed to go to the military base. There is no hint at all, that there are two lazers at the sandy shore airfield that you are supposed to use .

When you fail a mission, you don't go to the voting screen. You go to the "leaderboard" screen where you can select to continue or restart. It seems that if anybody selects "restart," or at least a majority, then you just start up the mission immediately again with no other screens. It takes a majority or all to select "Continue" in order to even get to the voting screen.

I've had people just wandering around in missions leaving me and another to finish it, annoying as they get paid, then they sit there in the voting screen for the whole minute before selecting freeroam..

I will admit, alot of missions I haven't done before and so first time I did the titan mission (it says to get a helicopter) they've delivered the titan before I could find a chopper - the obvious way in is jump over the fence..

Haha, agree with OP. LOL. So many times i sit in my car wondering what the hell the others are thinking.

Instructions say... get a heli... how they take this as... everyone race to the front gate and get shot.... Get police involved... Blow up their own car... take off in the wrong direction.... Collect the needed item and then and only then.... decide they dont know what to do... and do a tour of the city...

I do not get it... even the first time through the mission where you need to go to the top of the building i knew i needed a heli because it told me i needed one... I did not circle the building in my car for 20 min looking for a hidden elevator. I did not climb a ladder... i found a heli... by the time i did... all others died or left... Clueless?.... Lazy? ... what is it?

I am now at the point... if i do a mission, and your not with me... your against me and your getting run over or killed .... before you make it to the target and f*ck the whole thing up.

I like to join Gerald missions and just wander around the beach beating up pedestrians, enjoying my freedom from the police. I don't feel bad about it either, because Gerald's missions are easy enough that one drunken half-blind man could beat them with his eyes half-closed.

this post reminded me of a noob encounter i had the other night, did a couple of races with just one dude & on the 3rd race he selected rally, bit odd as there was nobody else with us,was just about to roll a spliff so i decided to hang around to see what he wanted to do,he drove,it was a twisty track in the hills & neither of us had our mics on,he obviously didnt have a clue where he was going & everytime time he got the wrong way message he purposely died so he was facing the next checkpoint,it took him 20 mins to finish the race lol can only think he thought he would get the rally trophy, musta been choked when he didnt.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum here. I don't want any help at all in how to do missions, imo it's way more fun and longer lasting than if the game says, go here, pick up this rifle, shoot those guys, deliver this to here, every step of the way. Although I agree it's annoying (well at low levels it was before I could call one up) when you need a chopper for a mission and they all stop spawning.

It's a bummer. Not that many people want to do missions because they don't reward that well.

I was playing with a guy the other day who insisted on putting the difficulty on hard. He wasn't good enough and got killed so that he had no life's left and I was trying to hack a laptop, so obviously I couldn't as NPCs kept spawning in and killing me.

The invitation system sucks as well which is a shame because I think the missions are well made.

I actually agree with you, but when players are new to Online they often have no idea how little help you get.

When you tried a mission a few times you figure out what to do, and even better that there are often several ways to do them.

Which is why it's such a shame they cut the payout for replays IMHO.

If only you could anonymously rate the players you work with after each mission, with the game shortlisting the players you liked better so that you'll likely work with them again in the future.

The game is already recording pretty much every stat, so it could quite quickly point you to players you worked well with before, naturally forming teams and partners in crime for you to work with in the future.

Also I agree that the online Missions require far more polish and explanation - sometimes they get confusing and messy. It also might help if the consequences for failure were higher but people often just end up mucking about.
