I took the tank out in a public session, an hour or so ago, and had a blast. Killed only 3 bounties, never fired a shot at anyone else. The room was full for most of that hour. Most people would come around the corner, see me, and haul a$$. I'd honk. After a while they ignored me like I ignored them. One or two people decided to stand in the street shooting at me with rifles, then try to run up and I guess steal it or something. I just backed up, honked, backed up, until they gave up.

 

I don't blame them for being freaked out when they saw it, but I have to give credit to everyone who was in that session that not one of them messed with me since I didn't mess with them, other than the bounties ofc, and none of them seemed to take it personally either.

 

Eventually I parked at one of the constructions sites and got 5 star wanted levels, then drove underground to evade, rinse repeat. Some people came by and joined in. None of them tried to take me out, I didn't try to take them out. It was nice.

See I had that happen last night. The guy in the tank was cool until my friend(he plays invite only never public) decided he was gonna throw a single sticky bomb at the tank to blow it up (yeah bad move and I told him so) then the tank guy came after us. See if you're not a dick about it I don't mind you owning one. Its the ones who just kill you 20 times in a row who bother me. If you get me while I have a bounty and then leave me alone I'm cool with you

Got my first tank kill last night. Felt amazing. f*ck the tankers. And f*ck the insured tankers even harder. I just try and get them bad sport by driving in my super cars when they blow me up. Put a bounty on them before you blow them up so you don't pay 20k for their insurance.

yep and i found the quickest way to get your car back is to call insurance and then hold select and press "request personal vehicle" dont call the mechanic as you have to wait 5 mins each time, I was getting my car back every 30 seconds and got the guy into bad sport within 30 mins;..

you sir are an excellent tank user.... if people played like you i wouldnt mind at all, its the people who try to blow you up while your in passive mode/run you over...

I put 4 sticky bombs on the road and it did f*ck all to the tank...

i like how we need to grow up, but you could just go play solo, with friends, with your crew or by invite only. if you're in a mission, they can't mess with you either...

 

maybe you should grow up and realize:

 

1. if you would have started sooner or ground it out harder, you would be on an even playing field. many many legit people over 100 with tanks out there, should they wait to have their fun just because you had things that took priority in your life and not theirs?

 

2. with all the ways for you to circumvent the assholes built into the game, it's time (since you're grown and all) to realize other people don't have to play the game you like to play it in order to have fun... maybe you should follow their example.

Ahh nero xv1 how you got owned by me with your own tank.. This french guy decided it was a good idea to tank spawn kill everyone because he kept getting his ass whooped when he came back to the fight. So I sniped him out of the tank and later on ended up taking his tank and spawn killed the sh*t out of him, even when he was in passive mode i would fake him out and run him over. Then I put a bounty on him until someone claimed it and he quit the game. I don't like it when people think the tank is go to solution when it is clearly not. Also while I was in the tank someone drove their PV into me but I didn't care and I ignored everyone in the room except this Tank asshole. They soon watched as I sat there decimating him over and over again, they left me alone because they all wanted the same....

What ? No cash on yourself you say ? Just dial up the phone when you respawn, withdraw 100 bucks and enable passive. Ta-da. Or even better, always carry some cash on you so you never get spawn killed.

I got the tank, the legit way btw, and I only use it in invite only sessions to fight the cops. Because tards will ram every car in their garage right into the tank and drain my bank paying for their ugly cars insurance and get me into bad sport.

I agree and I could care less about tanks except I lagged out yesterday and lost a fully pimped rancher xl because of some griefer in a tank. I was turning and I would have been blocks away except for that lag. Now $120K in the hole because you care about your k/d ratio and shot someone in a truck that was accelerating into a wall. Seriously there stupid and don't belong in freeroam.

also the tank is far from balanced

any other online games containing tanks has the sense to do it properly and not have the one weapon that can beat it unlock way after the tank itself

not to mention the ridiculous amounts of damage it can take from all sides

 

only redeeming feature is that you can snipe tank drivers but that hardly makes sense most of the time and should not be the nr1 way to take out tanks

a few stickies should do the job IMO

I can't believe so many people are complaining about tanks. Before the game was released, many of these SAME people were hoping for the return of the tank, and now that it is a legitimate part of the game, they bitch and moan about it.

There are SO many things you can do, from switching to several choices of OTHER sessions, to simply going to a different area in this MASSIVE map!

The bad sport system needs a serious makeover. There are too many ways of abusing it, and now we have people taking advantage of the flawed BS system, where you can be banished to the BS lobbies for accidentally destroying other people's vehicles.

There IS a need for a bad sport system, but THIS one needs to be fixed. To play a GTA game and expect people NOT to use legitimate weapons and tanks is f*cking STUPID. There ARE options available to anyone who doesn't want to deal with them, but unfortunately, most people enjoy abusing other people who are simply playing the game as intended.

Face it, if it isn't TANKS, it'll be ANOTHER lame complaint that people will use as an excuse to abuse others who annoy them.
