Tanks are not the problem, the problem is that people ALLOW themselves to get killed repeatedly. There are many options to avoid being killed...

 

1. Join a new session

2. Join a mission/job

3. Turn on Passive Mode

4. Run away

5. Drive away

6. Snipe the tank

7. Drive your PV into the tank

8. Shoot a few RPGs into the tank

9. Bring a tank to a tank fight

10. Use a jet

11. Use a buzzard

12. Get a mugger to pull him out of the tank

 

There was a thread from a guy who ALLOWED himself to be repeatedly killed by a tank for 30 minutes. How big does your ego have to be to allow yourself to be killed that many times before you take the option to flee. The whining about tanks here is getting annoying now. If you whine about tanks it just shows that you lack any type of tactical intelligence.

Got my first tank kill last night. Felt amazing. f*ck the tankers. And f*ck the insured tankers even harder. I just try and get them bad sport by driving in my super cars when they blow me up. Put a bounty on them before you blow them up so you don't pay 20k for their insurance.

I took the tank out in a public session, an hour or so ago, and had a blast. Killed only 3 bounties, never fired a shot at anyone else. The room was full for most of that hour. Most people would come around the corner, see me, and haul a$$. I'd honk. After a while they ignored me like I ignored them. One or two people decided to stand in the street shooting at me with rifles, then try to run up and I guess steal it or something. I just backed up, honked, backed up, until they gave up.

 

I don't blame them for being freaked out when they saw it, but I have to give credit to everyone who was in that session that not one of them messed with me since I didn't mess with them, other than the bounties ofc, and none of them seemed to take it personally either.

 

Eventually I parked at one of the constructions sites and got 5 star wanted levels, then drove underground to evade, rinse repeat. Some people came by and joined in. None of them tried to take me out, I didn't try to take them out. It was nice.

It's both lolworthy and depressing that so many of you guys can't handle a tank which is designed to be in the game so you have to abuse a system meant to deal with actual cheaters, hackers and abusers to deal with it. The Bad Sport system was meant to deal with people hacking game files to gain and advantage and other sh*t like that and for some retarded reason they tacked the Personal Vehicle bit on there, but tanks are a part of the game too. If you can't deal with someone having a tank just don't go near them, by ramming your PVs into the tank and filling the Bad Sport servers up with players just taking advantage of a perk of their rank and money then you're every bit as much of a dick as the people who actually belong in Bad Sport and I hope the same happens to you. From now on any time I hear some squeaking voice over mic whining about how they're going to ram a tank to send them to Bad Sport I'm going to personally take the time to fill out the Report form for abusing the Bad Sport function, because that's what it is. Maybe it'll do good and maybe it won't but f*ck you guys if you can't even lrn2molotov.

They'll accuse someone of "griefing" for just playing the game, and then actually grief the person in response, over some perceived slight.

 

I generally don't mind griefing, as long as the culprit is honest about it. To each their own. But these ones are so disingenuous.

 

People like that deserve to get reported.

You make a fair point. The top speed on the tank is quite slow. They're very easy to avoid once you know they're around. Being surprised by one is one thing, deciding after you're aware of him/her to go kamikaze repeatedly is a bit senseless and, agreed, an abuse of the already odd BS system. Especially when there are a number of other "legitimate" ways to go after them, which are already well detailed in other threads.
