  1. 1. Should Zombies Be Included In GTA 5?

Hell f*cking no. Where Undead Nightmare was done brilliantly, it worked because you were in a desolate wild west setting. How the f*ck would zombies be allowed to take over LS with an army base about an hour (in game) from it?!

How do Zombies take over the entire USA in the Walking Dead, or every Zombie movie ever?

I feel the amount of time needed to implement zombies and designing a city to look like it has been ravaged by an apocalypse could be much more better spent adding new features for replay value, something which SP is seriously lacking.

Depends what you want out of a game, I guess. I've played the story three times. One of which to 100% (true 100%).

Normally I would replay the story. It's what I would do at this stage of every other gta but I find the story in V to be very weak, possibly the worst so far between 3D and HD eras. It doesn't help that it is extremely short which relates to my earlier point. Not enough content was put into SP. Very online oriented GTA.

People are aware of the fact that almost everything in Online can be done alone, in Solo mode, right?

You're missing my point. There isn't enough things to do in SP in general. Boring activities, entertaining ones are few and far between.

Zombies? No, I Think they could do something with Aliens though, maybe using the same attacks like from Michaels Grass Roots mission and having a mode like survival or even a mission

I've always thought zombies in a GTA world is a match made in heaven. If they did it right it could be one of the better zombie games. Start it from the beginning just another cruise in Los Santos 'til you start seeing people run and getting eatin', as the story progresses the city digresses... just seems to perfect.

I'm not giving my hopes up though.

It'd be fun but it'd need to be special to stand out. Maybe intelligent zombies, or like the ones from World War Z. I think it'd have to be set in the dark, thanks to the altruists destroying the sun, or some bs like that.

I'd like to see an alien world type that can adapt to choices, kind of a cross between GTA and crackdown.

I'm not sure about a gambling DLC tbh, I think it'd be heavily multiplayer based whereas I'd prefer some strong single player dlc. IMO a gambling dlc, if not implemented and done properly, will be a bigger failure than PlayStation Home.

You're missing my point. I just stated an opinion/observation on zombie games today and how they're cheap/poorly written and how it seems to be a fad that's going to die out and then you come in, completely missing the point of my opinion and misinterpreting it and making it out like "people should not play zombie games period" rather than "zombie games aren't very well written".

Clearly you haven't played the Walking Dead, or Deadrising, or Resident Evil (classic, anyways), or The Last Of Us.

It'd be better to accept that there are properly written zombie games than saying they aren't well written. A zombie DLC would be so much interesting than a Franklin & Lamar thug lyfeeeee story.

There's some properly written zombie games, but you also have to remember the poorly written ones. Especially considering that people like zombies because they're cheap, easy thrills to kill that, depending on the type of zombie/writer, take little to no skill to kill. I would much rather have a thug life DLC rather than a zombie DLC.

And as they said before, an alien DLC would be a lot more fitting for V, considering all the hints and all.

Those have no way of impacting how a Zombie-esque DLC would play out. Just because several people wrote awful zombie stories doesn't mean Rockstar would follow the same pattern.

Hell, let's take another trope for example. Let's say.... Damsel in distress? What if someone from each protagonist is taken and held hostage by a criminal organization or something along those lines. There have been good hostage situation movies and bad hostage situation movies. Now explain to me why Rockstar would decide to build off of a poorly written story instead of using the considerably better story for inspiration? You're acting like Dan Houser and who ever works with him are complete bumbling idiots.

You're implying GTA 5 didn't already use the Damsel in Distress trope with "Meltdown" and "Lamar Down" and "Fresh Meat".

And is Dan Houser really that much of a god to you? Think about it. I love GTA just as much as the next guy, but you gotta admit GTA 5 isn't god's gift to the earth. It's got it's flaws, both mechanically and story-wise, in this case it's story wise. If they skimp on the plot of GTA 5 and dumb it down to the point where it becomes way too easy, then how do you think they're gonna approach a zombie game? "ALRIGHT GUYS, WE GOT ZOMBIES. NOW LOAD UP YOUR EXPLOSIVE MINIGUNS AND MOW THEM DOWN".

When exactly did I say that Dan Houser is a "god" of sorts? You've heard me bitch and moan about GTA V and how I think it's got one of the weakest stories to date. So where exactly are you getting this accusation from? I never implied that GTA V didn't use the Damsel in Distress trope. So where exactly are you getting that from too?

Now you're attempting to argue with me for the sake of arguing. If you can't support your argument and believe that the story would ultimately flop because you have your doubts then you have nothing to actually contribute. I wouldn't want to see a Zombie DLC, but I definitely wouldn't be extremely upset or surprised either. So just because I'm disagreeing with you because you're not giving any valid points instantly makes me into some sort of Dan Houser praising nitwit? Sh'yeah, makes sense right? ...right?

I've already blown your argument out of the water about the story being a mess because there have been sh*tty zombie stories, I've already disproven the whole thing about Zombies just being a "gimick when looked at in the right angle" and we've already discussed how you wanted another unpopular idea and somehow feel the need to bash another one. How exactly could Rockstar be ruining the game if it was a non-canon zombie DLC? Undead Nightmare wasn't cannon and most people loved it. GTA needs something to spice it up after the sour taste the base game left.

I'm asking you to submit a valid argument instead of just blindly bashing on a trope used in video games. You don't have to do as I ask, in fact I expect you not to but I'm still upset that you're not going to contribute anything to the thread that actually supports against or for the Zombie DLC idea. And you know you'd eventually purchase the Zombie DLC or at the very least try it out at a friends house. You wouldn't be able to avoid it since you "love GTA as much as the next person".

But hey, I'm not gonna reply if you reply to me seeing as you haven't supplied any proper reasons yet. Message me if you have actual reasons.

You're making the implication that the gabber themed DLC thread wasn't a joke, but okay, moving on.

I'm now thinking back to the red dead zombie DLC you mentioned and I'm not sure how good of a score it got with the reviewers or critics, but wouldn't it be a bit cheap for rockstar to do zombies again? Why not aliens? I'm not sure why you're so upset that I'm not "going to contribute anything to the thread that actually supports against or for the Zombie DLC idea". I already stated I was against it because it is cheap, gimicky, and already done to death multiple times. Not only by other game companies but, as mentioned earlier, by rockstar aswell.

Just a zombie mode. A bonus zombie mode. That will do me. No cliched story about getting to some haven. Repaint the city - nothing fancy, just some burn marks and smoke from buildings. Bung some vehicle husks about. Scrap traffic for extra zombie peds kicking about all over. Make them climb ladders, why not. And no fuzz. Just fuzz zombies.

Let me use the creator tool with the zombie mode, can make our own fun.

Dont forget at night there is no power... the city is dark.

When you think about it in the right angle, zombies are a cheap gimmick in the bulk of video games today, and movies, and media. It'll be deader than the WW2 shooters in the early 2000's in a few years.

Nazis > Zombies > Aliens...

Officer Ronson

The reason as to why stories such as Resident Evil or The Walking Dead work so perfectly is because zombie fiction never existed in their universe, also the infection is something spread all over the area of the events, in Resident Evil the town's water was infected with the T-Virus, people slowly died and began to turn either by drinking the water or through biting, in The Walking Dead's case everyone was infected, they still are and will come back when they die or when bit they will also slowly die and come back as the undead.

I feel very strongly about this. NO.

I know zombie are "fully hectic", everyone has opinions blah blah, but I never want them to ruin GTA with zombies.

Keep that for stupid games like saints row.

I say yes and no. why yes and no you ask? well, yes because i really hate the queer ass zombies and sh*t in all these games, but in gta, that would be something worth while, think about it, gta 5 has good mechanics, and it has great graphcs and potential. definatly this would be a good idea, if any of you may remember that san andreas had a multiplayer mod called san andreas-multiplayer, or samp. this mod has 10k users at anytime and it has many, many, many servers, one in particular was a dayZ server modded to feature san andreas' mechanics and features but with dayZ components. id reccomend you look it up on youtube if you havent heard of it, but the dayZ mod for samp had zombies running around and punching you, think of that but in gta 5 and gta 5s mechanics and graphics, and especialy multiplayer components tied into that, it made the mod seem like a completley new game, i may be getting off topic but that was a great mod, if rockstar would stop worrying about money and stick to what matters, fun and opportunity then maybe we might have a bit of a series going on. But rockstar is worrying about their way of doing things and ban people who modded a lobby just to edit a car or buy a car and a house and get their buddy something. samp had great features, like having people mod their own lobbies i.e. the dayZmod, that has been downloaded hundreds of times, all rockstar cares about is cash, maybe its time rockstar got their head out of their ass and let the community do something on their own,way off topic but still, allow us to mod servers and include zombies, or cats, or even talking elephants if we want, e bought the game so we shouldhave a say in a aspect or two of the game.

i say no too because rockstar is too worried, as stated above, about money than having fun with a product, rockstar does things for no reason other than to piss the community off, for example, delaying heists. why delay heists? one hacker, wga people wil hack and discover things on their own, rockstar stop being a hardass for once and do ANYTHING besides laying on your ass all day and not delivering the entertainment that we desire. i mean, were playing a 60 dollar game that we liked then but now its getting stale, zombies may be a good idea hardasses, but until something major changes i dont see someting like this that could change the title in a good way forever happening anytime soon. but you never know, san andreas turned from multi theft auto to good ole samp. Thanks for listening to my gigantic ass story.

Instead of cashing in on the waning success of the zombie genre, why don't we have a dragon themed DLC like Skyrim?

Yeah, sounds pretty f*cking dumb, right? Well there we go.

You know, they could do the alien DLC in a "They Live" type fashion. Not zany and exaggerated as f*ck (Saints Row), but kind of creepy and disturbing in a way. Although the movie did have some pretty good humor.

Let's say Ron stumbles upon some glasses, or a similar device. It could work.

Non-canon like Undead Nightmare, of course. Why not?

Just give us Survival Creator and we can easily make a zombie mode ourselves. Just spawn A LOT of enemies without weapons and they will come running towards you and just like that you have zombie mode with levels even!

I would be very satisfied with this!

If you want zombies, play Plants VS Zombies. This is GTA, not RDR Undead Nightmare GTA Edition.
