GazzaBloom Posted November 10, 2002 Share Posted November 10, 2002 Just watched Scarface on DVD for the first time. The guys from Rockstar North are obviously huge fans. It was surreal when Tony and the other 3 guys drive in the open top car. they turn a corner and it's the road outside of Ocean View hotel - exactly..!! Beach & walkway with palm trees one side and the row of hotels on the other - plus the girls in bikinis. Even spookier was when Tony goes in for the drug/cash deal (chainsaw killing) the other guys sit in the car and the radio is playing one of the songs from GTA III...! It was like a movie of the game. I've only just started Vice City and just completed all of Rosenbergs missions. That lawyer guy reminds me of the Sean Penn's character in Carlito's Way - is he based on him...? Any other Scarface/Carlito's way references later in the game...? GTA3Freak-2001 Posted November 10, 2002 Share Posted November 10, 2002 Yeah I saw Scarface a couple of weeks ago and it really shows that Rockstar had already planned to make Vice when they were making GTA3, I mean they used the soundtrack for the flashback station. I am in Australia so I haven't got Vice yet, which means I can look for the similarties between the game and the movie.
