a useless number is what i like to call it. it brings no benefit other than having a number next to your name for the remainder of your session.

I've always assumed it means "Job Points", but have no idea what those points count towards, if anything.

Job Points are used for when the heists arrive.

So, when you have a (x) amount of Job Points you can complete a heist of a higher tier regarding JP.

Job points. They don't seem to count for much, there's a theory they'll be needed somehow in relation to heist preparation...

I've heard they're used for tie breaking, presumably whoever has most JP gets ranked higher if everything else is equal after a race/death match/etc but I haven't witnessed this.

Complete conjecture.

They are points left over for a feature that Rockstar scrapped from adding to the game after it was determined the game is a failure.

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

They're used to determine the winner of a playlist. Kind of like tournament points.

Highest points at the end of a playlist wins.

Ignore them for now. They have no meaning.

I can imagine you waiving your hand Obi Wan Kenobi style while you say that in a quiet voice.

Job Points...and they have NOTHING to do with heists.

At least some of you are slightly creative when it comes to just making sh*t up. The rest of you are just idiotic.

I thought R* said that they're only there to show how many missions a player has completed in a free-roam lobby. & as post #17 said, I'm pretty sure they have nothing to do with the upcoming heists.

JP = Job Points. It's an indicator of how constructive you are actually being. If you see someone with high JP in that session, they have been completing jobs, running races or playing Deathmatches. If you see a player with 0 JP, they either just joined that session, or they have been doing nothing other than screwing around in Freemode.

It's a quick indicator of if the players on that lobby are doing stuff (jobs, races, missions, etc) or if they are just f*cking around in Freemode blowing up each other's personal vehicles.

In all the hands on previews the magazines had detailed their rewards after completing missions - the cash, the rp and the jp. I remember in all the reviews R* had said they would be 'used for heists'.

But as of now, I guess its more or less a scoreboard to keep for your current free roam session in regard to how many missions you have completed in your session.

Job Points, Used in Playlists, Higher number of Job Points is the winner.

If you ever played a Mario Kart game, You'll know exactly what these are.

Japanese Points. They just make you look like you a reasonable person in free roam. They are probably the only stat that matters in the game.

Pure guess but maybe it is heist related. Maybe due to the possible high reward of a heist you might have to have a certain amount of JP from other smaller missions within the lobby before you are allowed to access it. Like maybe you have to build it up to 50 or 100 per session, and then you can do a heist with other players who have got to the same amount of points.

Pure guess work but if as a previous post said that the hands-on reviews mentioned it being heist related then maybe it will be kinda like that.

As for it being for just simply who has 'won the lobby'. I don't get how that works seeing as I am nearly always higher than everybody else in a lobby due to how many races and missions I do, and yet there is no indication of winning anything or any perks.

As somebody else said, for now it's Just Pointless
