Currently sipping on a few of these at the moment:

...and I have the official glasses 'n all!

Times like these remind me of the height of boredom: getting pissed infront of an internet device with a gaming forum opened up in a tab, along with many other cyber communications. But yeah, who gives a sh*te. It's either this, or head up to the local and listen to the 14 hundreth conversation about why Amy Winehouse hasn't confirmed a comeback tour yet.

But gotta share your love for thee auld rum op. F*cking best spirit for me other than a good ol' Remy Martin.

Not to mention that the local will cost you 20$ or 15 pounds or whatever just to have a couple drinks and a plate of fries!

I can't drink Guinness to be honest. I like it , but one of them makes me feel bloated and like I have to go to sleep. LOL.

I don't see any problem with having a drink at night while on the computer or whatever else. It takes the edge off and eases you to sleep.

This Kraken rum is pretty decent , I think you are supposed to have it straight but I am not enough of an alcoholic to do that so I mix it. If i'm drinking a beer it is probably a Smithwicks or a Kilkennys.

@niko bellic half brother; I find myself liking you more these days, not to mention you're a drinker of my favourite beer.

I just cracked open my third can of Guinness Draught. I've got a few more (ice cold) cans in the fridge which I'm probably going to end up drinking before I go to bed. I'm less interested in going to parties every weekend nowadays simply because I prefer cracking a can of beer open in front of the TV.

I only started drinking Guinness Draught a few months ago, now it's my preferred beer. I used to only drink Stella Artois, but I just prefer Guinness now.

I drank half a bottle of red wine last night too. I've taken a liking to red wine recently. I can't stand white whine or rosè though.

To be honest, I've never understood the fuss about Stella Artois. From my limited American point of view, it seems like the European version of a low quality American beer like Budweiser or Coors Light.

My parents drunk that, when they'd drink (during special occasions and what not) and therefore I'd beg and sometimes get a drink or two (only during special occasions). That's probably why I was and still kind of am so into the drink.

I've never tried Coors Light but I've tried Budweiser. Budweiser is a good drink, but I seem to only drink it during sports matches, such as football, NFL and darts.

I can only drink coors light or Budweiser if it is absolutely ice cold. The second it warms up it is totally disgusting :( I guess i'm a bit snobbish about beer.

That's the great thing about Guiness: after a few pints, you have zero desire for food; you already feel more full than a Simon Cowell compliment.

Never heard of Kraken, but here in the UK we have a fairly respected bar/food chain called Wetherspoons, of which I was at the other night and had had a few double Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum's. Good stuff, mixed with Coke of course.

Out of unlikely chanced curiosity...does Buckfast retail in the US?

Kraken is pretty much the exact same thing as Sailor Jerry so you know the experience , more or less.

I've never heard of buckfast before so I somehow don't think it is around in the US, but we probably have something comparable. What is it?

Red wine is by far my wine of choice too - especially anything with (so called) Italian on the label. Most of my friends prefer rosy, and white tastes like f*cking vinegar - to me anyway.

Wetherspoons is in no way respectable. Just coming in after a night out in Sheffield. Pints of Kipling followed by an unacceptable carousel of jaegerbomb round.

EDIT: to clarify obviously I in no way thing jäger bomb s are respectable

One thing the UK has over the US is that you can get gravy chips at most drinking establishments. Here the best you can do are really crappy cheese fries.

So Sailor Jerrys is a continental thing? It was the first time I even heard of it/drank the stuff, so this is news to me. But like I said, tasty stuff.

Buckfast:

1646.jpg

It's a pretty notorious beverage here in Scotland, and I believe in England now too, that is a drink favoured by the Neds/Chavs that eventually caught on with uni students and the more middle class society. It's high caffeine content provides a pretty cheery drunkness. Infact, it's bizzare growing popularity has made it more expensive to purchase than some respescted wines!

Just as well you edited that post for some clarification - because that Jaegerbomb pish is f*cking brutal.

The only reason I said Wetherspoons is "fairly" respectable, is because they do regularly introduce some good ale's every now and then.

But then I'm advocating Buckfast as a good drink, so take my opinion how you will!

15 yr old single malt/cask Balvenie scotch. Top of the line.

Jim Beam bourbon. It's severely under rated and therefore cheap (don't say Jack Daniels cause that junk ain't bourbun).

Heineken beer. It has a slight flowery aftertaste so if you plan on drinking a lot go with Bud.

Voxx vodka. Vodka is pretty hard to mess up but it's not easy to get great. Filtered five times.

Everclear. 191 proof is awesome! It's super vodka. A shot of everclear was my first drink. The label warns this is dangerous but it doesn't say it's also incredibly painful. Not legal everywhere.

Bacardi Rum 181. 181 proof is awesome and unlike everclear this is somehow only slightly painful to drink straight.

Jose Cuervo Tequilla. The 1800 stuff is only slightly better and the bottles are tiny.

Liquors.. I guess your girlfriend needs something to drink. Oh wait, you people don't have girlfriends.

Best mixed drink. Scotch with literally a drop of water to bring out the flavor. Or boilermakers.

Not a beer-guy myself, I do enjoy a good glass of wine though preferably a good shiraz or a very good pinot noir (it's always hit or miss with those, either it's sewage water or it is next to perfect). If I'm playing it safe I'll go for a Cabernet, can't really go wrong with those mostly. I also like my weekly or half-weekly dosage of bubbles preferably something decent but in reality mostly veuve, not bad but also not great or moët which is kind of my guilty pleasure drink.

Estancia Pinot Noir is very decent.

Weatherspoons used to be okay, but most of them are sh*t holes nowadays, full of morons or old people.

@niko bellic half brother; It's hard to explain from my point of view. I've not had white whine for a while and I can hardly remember what it tastes like nowadays. All I know is that it's f*cking horrible!

@theadmiral; I used to like Strongbow when I was an early teen and was sneaking drinks down behind my mum's back, but nowadays I can't stand the stuff. A lot of my friends like it, but I hate it now. I can't even explain the taste, it's just horrible; makes me want to throw up. I was never a fan of other ciders though.

I haven't had enough of it to judge the consistency but it is a fine product. I'm not sure how you feel about Rose but the veuve ponsardin is very good and not terribly expensive for the basic one. Around a 40$ bottle.
