UtricularEwe001
It's amazing that 12000 people volunteered to make a small boy's dream come true. Dale Nixon
It's amazing that 12000 people volunteered to make a small boy's dream come true. WinterEdit
"He's the kid Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll help him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a young guardian, a watchful toddler. A dark child." Â Anyways, that was a nice event. I saw it on news in here around a week ago. Probably and hopefully it was a fun day for the kid.
F63
I think that people only pretend to care for attention and so that people think of them highly. In a week, everyone will forget about him, just like with most things that people only pretend to care about, like Veteran's Day, 9/11, and breast cancer. Â Obviously, there ARE people that care about those, but let's not act like the majority of people honestly, truly care about those things 365 days of the year. I think people actually care about this story because I don't think an entire city ever transformed into Gotham City just to make a kid happy before. Unlike Veteran's Day and September 11, which happen every single year, this is something that doesn't take place annually. Of course, when something only happens once instead of annually, people are going to care about it more because it's out of the norm. Â Contrary to popular belief, some people actually care about the happenings in this world. Edited November 16, 2013 by tokyocean
lil weasel
Ok. So Less than 4000 kids have leukemia in all of the forms. The money spent on this ONE kid could have helped all of them if given to a research facility. But, then again, this Advertising might result in more people thinking to donate more money. Again, it comes down to which will keep more people employed finding a 'cure' or not? Everybody makes money without a 'cure' and only the Pharmaceutical companies make it if they do... Â Actually, the ones looking for attention are the ones who simply pretend to care. I find it extremely disrespectful that people actually have the audacity to simply pretend they care. If they really cared, they'd do what they could to encourage people to eat healthy, exercise, and stop the government from providing subsidies to corporations like Monsanto, which all would lead to a decrease in cancers and many other illnesses. Proper nutrition and exercise dramatically reduce the risk of disease. Not having poison in your food would also lower that risk dramatically. F63
This kids has Leukemia...I'm not sure you automatically get that from not eating your 5-a-day greens F63... Well, obviously some of these things are genetic and/or not diet-related, but I'm willing to bet that a large majority of illnesses and diseases are the direct result of poor nutrition.
