Is there a way to check how many kills you have until the next tint?

I know I can see my total kills in the stats screen for a gun, but this seems to include NPCs as well. For instance I want to unlock all tints for the SMG. How do I know how many player kills I have?

 

Also, do these kills include free roam, or is it just DM?

social club page stats,or your stats in the menu in game should do,i think only player kills count not NPC'S

Any kill is a kill. I hardly ever get involved with people, a lot of npc though.

not when it comes to racking up headshots for face tattoo,all have to be player kills,so many deathmatches haha

Right the stats screen says I have 1900 kills with the SMG, yet I can't buy the 100 kill tint. So that stat isn't helpful.

1900 player kills or NPC kills? all the unlockable stats are based on other player kills unfortunately,just do a bunch of Deathmatches

Click on the "Weapons" tab right next to (not under) Stats. Go to the weapon. It should show you exactly how many player kills you have with that specific weapon.

Yeah im looking at it, it says kills with: 1947 for the SMG.

to put it simply, no. unfortunately. i think only the social club tells you. i was in the same situation with my assault rifle. i find it ironic how my heavy sniper already has the green tint. that thing is a beast. i never thought that i'd be using a sniper rifle more than a weapon with auto aim. sniper kills are very satisfying.

yea it counts in freemode as well. only players though not npcs.

Well, to verify.. you're looking at stats that look like this (separate Weapons tab) and not this (Weapons under Stats)? If so, then I'm not really sure. The 'player kills" under the first image has been pretty accurate with which tints I have access to.

 

And.. also I just read an above response and yeah this is found on Social Club. The one on the game menu doesn't have that breakdown unfortunately.
