This is the only reason I'm holding off on PS4

I would have already sold my ps3 to get money for the ps4 if it didn't mean I wouldn't get to play gta online again. Anyone else in this situation? I need to sell my ps3 to get the money for ps4 but it would mean giving up gta

Most places sold out of the new consoles, so it wouldn't matter much for now anyways. Unless you pre-ordered of course.

I'm sorry...I never understood selling games and systems. I just can't logically commit to getting a fraction of what was spent.

 

Let me make it clear that I understand that it may be necessary for some people who have limited funds for toys to do this....I'm just curious.

 

As for PS4 I'm waiting more because the launch games are likely going to be crap...and aside from BF4 there aren't really any that interest me anyway.

PS4 has 1 exclusive game worth playing (killzone). If you cant really afford it then you're not missing out on much.

I thought you could use the PS3 disc in a PS4. GTA5 surely would work in it?

Hopefully at least $200 for the system and the few games I have. I mean I could afford the ps4 without selling it but it would be a much tighter squeeze and I would feel like it's a waste to have both.

On the flip side back when I was buying and playing a lot of varied games you could buy, beat it and sell it for a loss of $10-15 most the time. Few games I see myself ever playing again. I know a lot of people like to replay games but I tend to look for new content so I never feel like I lost anything. So if your that kind of gamer selling thinks makes the most sense. I didn't pay a dime for my xbox 360 when it came out because my brother had a PS2 and I had an xbox and we combined both with a few games to get the xbox 360. (obviously a long time ago haha)

Aren`t they trying to get back compatibility through Gaikai? Was it scrapped?

 

No plans on buying PS4, so all my info is scarce at best.

Well if that's actually what you could get it's a little more than I would have expected by just guessing.

 

I can understand your reasoning. I just feel like one day I'd wake up and want to play a PS3 game I hadn't touched in 4 years....

 

I applaud you for having a sense of responsibility though. I know the hardest part about it sometimes is being the only kid on the block that doesn't have something the minute it comes out.

Well my wife acts like I'm immature for still playing games and if I didn't sell it she would throw a fit. I don't replay games much anyways. Mass Effect is the only series Ive really replayed a bunch.

I'm in a slightly different position. Before GTA5 came out i was dead set on getting a PS4 at launch or by Xmas. Then once GTAO launched I realized I had such little interest in anything else that I cancelled my pre-order LOL! I'll prob get one eventually who knows.

U can play gta on ps4 and xbox I heard and when u figure you've had the system for 5 yrs and paid 300 for it . I'm cool with depreciating the system and taking 120 for salvage value . 300 5 yrs ago is worth a lot less now . You could've been earning interest on that sh*t

Aren't there reports of hardware problems with the PS4? My brother has one pre-ordered, I heard it from him, about the problems with the system. So I guess if you aren't itching for one don't buy the first generation. This applies to pretty much everything manufactured.

Is this a fact? Sony shipped 80 million units for day 1. They are only expecting about 3 million units to be sold by the end of 2013. My local Best Buy seems to have an unlimited stack of them.

The new consoles are crap man go for a PC. No media server support no external input of any kind. If ALL you use your console for is gaming and nothing but gaming ignore what I just said. I like multi use stuff though. I'm going to PC these new consoles got nothing to offer

The ps4 does not play ps3 game discs. However some developers are selling a digital copy of ps3 games on the ps4 for $10. Currently, GTA5 isnt one of the available titles.

Foolish. I'm getting the gamesphere. It's spherical. And the PS4 can't even play MP3 or CDs. With all the cancelled DRM on next-Gen, can you really trust them?

I have it pre-ordered and I haven't even gone to pick it up yet. I'm not excited for any of the games available for it.

 

GTA has been a blast, the only game I can play everyday for 5+ hours without ever getting bored.

Yeah, actually. The models are some shipping with defunct HDMI outs. So they're unplayable. I think you get an auto warranty upon purchase, though.

I'm holding off on purchasing a PS4 not because of GTA V but because there aren't any games that I really want to play. I would prefer to wait until more games are released and for the bugs to be resolved.

 

I'm sure I'll pick it up within the next six months or some time over the summer.
