I don't get it, sometimes i just go and see what people are up too.

Maybe i get to see some cool stunts or wins and fail.

But when i approach them, they start shooting.

If you want to shoot people's limbs off, then death match is a good place to start.

 

For the people that are doing that, any good reasons?

And do not say that you are trying to defend yourself while nobody started shooting at you first.

Because people can be dicks.

 

I remember recently how one player was leaving LSC, and I stayed back so he could get out. Moments later, he opens fire on me, and kills me.

 

Let's just say I didn't let him get away with it.

Free roam is worse than death match as there are no rules.

 

And a pretty good reason is because it is entertaining for some of us. I might be an ass to some at first but most of the time full map pursuit and crazy stunt-kills are a consequence of shoot at first sight. If the player starts whining after an attack I'll leave them alone, no problem, I won't go around making you mad.

Its probably becuase the majority of the time if they dont attack the person they end up getting killed by the person coming at them. We've all done that. Oh hey he might be friendly and than nope, person turns out to be the biggest ahole in the session. Its a product of the game, the mistrust.

most of the time, people wont start shooting unless you approach them in a hostile manner. Other people are like me start shooting because they dk why you're coming near them and you're not talking on the mic so youre getting shot

 

 

grow a pair or play by yourself if you cant handle confrontation

I actually think it would be cool if each player had an indicator as to whether they have a tendency to shoot first. If someone comes up to me, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I might even aim my gun at them and -- even when I'm not mic'd -- say "Just keep driving, buddy." Very often, they do leave ... and are probably surprised that I didn't open fire.

I came across a guy last night on a BMX messing around doing jumps etc.... so I stopped to take some pics, all good until some a**hole turned up and gunned us both down, we teamed together and taught him a lesson.

Mistrust is a part of this game. I pretty much always shoot first now; for too long I was being killed due to letting people get near me but now it doesn't happen.

Because free roam is the place to have fun, and passive mode only works on foot.

And lol, i am not whining, did i said: "OH MY GERD, YA PPL S*CK 4 REALZ!", no i didn't.

I am just asking them why they do it.

If I see a dot on the map coming towards me I'm always prepared to shoot because you can't trust anyone on this game. You should already know that by now.

Because this game supports sh*tty online play with the bounty bullsh*t and the lack of things to do besides grief... I'm sure many people are just being defensive. The rest are assholes...

It's all reactionary, a reflex given to them by another player who did the same.

 

It's the same reason that Dayz went from survival PvP to basic PvP.

I dont have all the missions done so I'm not "lacking" yet... but once you've got a bunch of money, and bought everything, what is there to do? (I know we dont have half the promised features yet so I guess we'll see)..

 

But compare that to SA-MP where there's always something to do (depending on which server you joined). I'm not saying GTAO should be setup exactly like SA-MP was, but they could have at least taken some of the great ideas from that community.

9/10 times when a player comes near you the intent is to shoot you so most of us prefer to just shoot you first I was out in the ocean screwing around on jetski then a buzzard flies out and machine guns me. I was no threat to him players shoot down froggers cargo bobs titans just for kicks the freemode is kinda lame since its basically an informal death match.

This is pretty much what I feel, also.

It's gotten better lately, but I still can't walk for 4 blocks before I get run down, gunned, sniped, whatever.
