Cool Things You Didn't Know About: V Edition

- Kind of related to my previous post, if Trevor drinks many many shots of booze at the strip club (once he owns it they'll keep serving him as many shots as he wants, whereas they refuse to keep serving Michael and Franklin once they're too drunk) he'll pass out and wake up on the couch in the back office.

 

- If you land on top of a cable car on Mount Chiliad (using a parachute) it will instantly stop moving you'll get a two star wanted level. It's also possible to make the cable cars fall down by shooting them, including when you're standing on one. This usually results in death from the fall but it is possible to survive if you're not too far from the ground at the time and lucky. Then you can have fun knocking the cable car down the hill. 

 

- If Michael greets peds while wearing the Epsilon robes (at any time, not just during the mission where you have to wear them for several days) he'll say Kifflom to them, and some will reply back with Kifflom and other Epsilon related comments. 

 

- Once you have a parachute trying to do a dive into water can suck because it often triggers the parachute and makes you freefall super quick to your death even when you're not very high up. But one place I've found where it still lets you do a nice high and satisfying dive without the parachute appearing is if you climb up the structures that have what almost looks like diving boards sticking out over the water along the north edge of "Terminal" in southeast Los Santos. If you jump over the end of the "diving board" it's a spectacular high dive. 

 

Early in the game before you have a parachute you can do dives from even higher up. The higher your lung capacity stat is the higher it's possible to trigger a dive from. If you have it maxed out you can do a sweet dive from the very top of the red Elysian Freeway Bridge (also in southeast LS and possible to climb up from the ground if you walk along the beams) into the water below.

Maybe an already known fact, but Lester is inspired/based off of Bentley, the anthropomorph turtle from the Sly Cooper series, as they're both nerdy/hackers who organize heists and are stuck in a wheelchair

I agree. Much more compelling than anything said in ending C. My favourite is Franklin (to Michael): "Man, that was your best f***ing friend!"

I disagree, I don't like them as endings. I like how in ending C Trevor was hidden and Micheal rescues him, triggering Trevor to say that it's nice see he's all worked up

 

Plus the final cutscene is great, with the sunset and all

Yeah I live for the more serious moments in the story. Some humour is fine but the overall balance was a bit too on the lighthearted side for my taste with V. Still there are some good dark/compelling/emotional scenes in there. The final scene of C isn't bad but the ending as a whole is a bit too fairytale-like, the way they gloated over Devin helpless in the trunk only made me feel sympathy for him and distaste for the protagonists, and it just didn't have as hard hitting dialogue.

Dunno, Devin was a piece of sh*t who used people way less powerful making them believe that working with him would get them somewhere and then get rid of them when he doesn't need them anymore, something T remarks while he's in the trunk

 

I understand he was pissed off at the Molly incident, but didn't give Micheal a chance to explain and sent a f*cking private army to his house and almost killed his family. Certainly not a saint, so his death was something he had coming

He did have it coming but gloating over someone while they're helpless like that is just distasteful to me.

can’t believe i just found this out. i always considered switching weapons in vehicles a mess but i just realised it can be switched while the character wheel is up so it goes to slow motion and makes it far easier at high speeds.

one thing i didn't know is that you can complete Blitz Play without killing anyone lol. took 33 hours but it's doable 😁

I like to kill Stretch with one. I guess you can use them in some missions if you want. But yeah with the usually having to be in cover relatively far away from enemies combat style of V they're not exactly useful. Not handy either since you can't even buy them.

Also, in Grand Theft Auto V a Baseball Bat is not used, and is actually very rare. It was an iconic weapon in every 3D Grand Theft Auto game, at least for me.

Pretty much no melee weapons at all are used since unlike other GTAs it starts straight off with guns. I get that working up to using guns wasn't exactly necessary by the time of V but it's a shame they didn't still find a way to include some melee combat in missions.

- Whistling for a cab, in a stealth stance while in FPV will result in a glitched - and creepy - animation

 

- Was having a fight with 3 Lost members on their bikes as Franklin, on the road by Stab City, when a mountain lion defended me and killed 2 of them 😂

 

- Didn't know it could happen, but random people may steal your car. Parked Mike's Obey by the side of the road in Vinewood to find Pamela Drake when a pedestrian got in the car and drove away

 

- People react to you Super Jumping. Noticed it in Director Mode

I've had that happen a couple of times too but seems to be super rare, I'd forgotten about it until you reminded me. Both times I can remember it was a homeless person, I wonder if it's specific to them.

Didn't see who it was, just saw the personal car blimp move away on the minimap

The protagonists may not ragdoll depending on the vehicle accident. Like half a week ago i’ve been playing, T lost control of his bike and bumped into a bit of dirt, instead of falling he simply rolled off the bike and stood still.

I was driving high speed in my Super Drop Diamond and crashed into one of pillars in downtown. Suddenly... I died. Didn't get ejected from the car though. I have never died in a car accident before in this game. I think that's cool.

-I’m probably an idiot for not noticing this before but the player can kinda push people, not like in IV with a button but with fastly running into them, they always end up falling down lol.

-Some NPCs may pass out from the player ragdolling into them, i don’t wanna call this dying, more like passing out because otherwise it’s too stupid.

-Most people around the beach or fat people will ignore Trevor’s insults. There was this fat lady hanging around the beach that got insulted by Trevor like a hundred times and she didn’t even answer lol(If i remember correct, anyway i couldn’t do bring her to do much lol).

-Probably most know this already but white uniformed security guys will have a red blip like Regular enemies or gangsters, although they can still open fire like cops.

-If the player gets wanted near fort zancudo(dont remember how many starts it was) and there is a jet flying around, there will be a red blip on the map for that jet even tho it will just fly away and not come for the player.

 

These has been seen on XBOX 360.

 

Edit: One more thing.

-The player can stop NPCs from getting up like in gta IV if they run towards them while they are down, it’s a bit easier in IV tho cuz you can do it with simply walking towards them lol(man thats funny af when that last deadbeat on the street trying to get up with his AK and you simply stop him with walking towards him😆).

Yeah, that's rare, but it could happen

 

- You can cook projectiles with L1+X while in a vehicle, that's cool

- Cars never explode in GTAO the way they do in V, fell from the sky in my Deluxo on the roof and nothing happened, while in GTAV I once exploded from a 5meters height

- GTAO protagonist is stronger and faster than M, T, and F in general

- In GTAO you don't get ejected from car no matter what

- Shooting vehicles doesn't decrease accuracy, quite the contrary

- Railgun has no effect on car windows and the bullet (?) will just pass through

Doing a replay of the campaign.

 

So I just completed "Did Somebody Say Yoga?" Now, the part where Michael returns home after his trip, most player's can see the yellow marker in the kitchen and go straight for that. Apparently there are lines though if you search the house first for each room, checking Michael and Amanda's room, Jimmy's room, Tracey's room, as well as more lines shouted by Michael when he walks through the living room, dining room, and says "Is anybody back here?!" if you walk out back to the pool.

 

I thought it was pretty neat that they added these unique lines for each room in the house, even though 99% of people probably never bothered wandering around the house before grabbing the note from the kitchen. Makes me wonder what other things people have missed.

 

Not as interesting, but I also saw a Trevor switch scene I have never seen before. Trevor confronts a neighbor outside of Floyd's apartment asking him "Is it really too much to ask you to turn down your f*cking television set" before pushing him into the wall and knocking him out.

I think the character switch system in this game is always act like a weirdo xd,like some particular scenes between certain missions literally never happened for once when I first finished the story 3 times. But when I replay the game for the 4th time-some magic happened,many scenes I never saw before start to show up,like the Trevor beat neighbor scene u mentioned and some Trevor and Patricia hold hands together scenes finally happens to me.But after I started messing with aniamtions on menyoo I find out some interesting scenes are still not present in this replay......

I called F to hang out then switched to him. When T came by and got out, his car’s engine was still running.

 

Another thing. I once picked up michael with a Maverick(as T) and he said something like “Yeah, what’d you drive?😑”. That was good.

I've had the same experience, some switch scenes seem to be much rarer than others, and in some playthroughs even though I've stayed at a point in the story and tried switching tons of times there's some I haven't been able to see. I think many of them are time sensitive and that makes it harder to get them.

 

For example there's some creepy Floyd ones it seems you can only get in the early hours of the morning (like perhaps only in a 2 or 3 hour period) that are tricky to get, one where Trevor holds a pineapple menacingly and Floyd says something like no Trevor it's prickly and those parts are sensitive and Trevor smashes it against the wall and says "wasting food makes me sick", and another where he's trying to touch Floyd with a creepy doll with a penis drawn on it and Floyd complains that it's "sticky" and Trevor says something like that's the essence of life boy. I'm obsessed with seeing everything in the game so it drives me mad lol

I think the last time I replayed that mission I noticed that! Great. Another thing I noticed was if you're not driving on a road (or perhaps just in certain places that aren't a road) during the part where Michael is becoming intoxicated you can make that part go on and on as Jimmy won't push him out of the car until he's in a suitable place.

 

Also there's a similar thing in the mission Marriage Counselling. You naturally trigger the mission by going in the front door of Michael's house, and the cutscene starts where Michael goes to the bedroom and catches Amanda cheating. But if instead you enter the house through the back to avoid the mission marker and go upstairs you'll find the bedroom door locked and Michael will comment on it and call out hello.
