Found a way to swim out into ocean without dying

I did a dive in a Shamal jet recently and discovered something new.  I have a flat screen TV where, even when it gets as dark as it gets, you can still see the outline of the plane.  18 minutes after landing in the water, I hit the "bottom," but instead of the entire descent stopping, only the camera view stopped descending.  The plane kept on descending into the abyss, growing smaller and rapidly smaller until it disappeared off camera.
