A logical argument about everything wrong about GTA online

1. Bad sport system.

If you thought punishing people for engaging in vehicular combat between two people in a game that's all about combat, then you must work for Rockstar. Firstly there's no way to know if someone is in a personal vehicle or not. Secondly why is it MY responsibility to ensure that I don't blow up another person's personal vehicle? Ideally when people don't want to risk their personal vehicle being destroyed they would use a less expensive or stolen car. Don't get me wrong, the bad sport system was a pretty good idea to punish cheaters. But there's really no reason to extend it to people who just blow up vehicles.

2. Insurence

Not much to say here. There's really no reason for the person who destroys a personal vehicle to pay the premium. In a world where you're a criminal who goes around killing people and blowing up their vehicles, apparently it's commonplace to pay the premium for the person you just killed. The thing is, with this and the bad sport system, it takes responsibility completely away from the player. It should be a BAD THING when your personal vehicle gets destroyed. You should be CAUTIOUS when using it. Not going around and using it in dangerous situations. And truth be told most premiums aren't that bad. If you can afford a Z-type you can afford the premium.

3. Impound.

Imagine this scene, you're cruising down the road with a 1 star wanted level, and minding your own business. When all of a sudden you get killed. By a player, cop, or other. Now your car is in the impound lot 10 miles away. Pointless feature in my opinion. I suppose it COULD be reworked to be better. Maybe it only gets taken to the impound if you die by a cop with a 4+ wanted level. And not by a player/suicide/crashing. And maybe being able to pay a fee and having your mechanic bring it to you from the impound.

4. Almost complete lack of ability to gain money without exploiting.

I really don't see why we can't replay missions. Just raise the prices a little bit and bob's your uncle. Maybe create some more money sinks (new mods, businesses like in the single player, etc).

5. Missions

You should be automatically teleported to where the mission is. Gets kind of annoying having to kill yourself twice to teleport.

6. Bugs

A couple major bugs. Not being able to hijack/steal cars. Having cars turn invisible.

its honestly pretty easy to get money, if you're good at racing, but i'd much rather do a simple exploit than deal with down the drain and criminal records for hours

not to mention how broken matchmaking itself is

Kill yourself twice to teleport to a mission location? I'm sorry, but I'm kinda confused here. What are we talking about?

When you start a mission (given by gerald, ron, etc) you start wherever you currently are in a map.

However if you lose all your lives (usually 2) you can restart the mission and teleport close to where the mission is.

A logical argument?

1 - There are plenty of players who enjoy randomly blowing up other people's personal vehicles even without being provoked. You don't think they should be punished for that?

2 - See above. If you blow up my car you should have to pay for it.

3 - Where do YOU think your car should end up if you're killed? An impound is as good a place as any as far as I'm concerned, especially when you just died.

4 - Completely untrue. I'd say you've still got a lot to learn about the game.

5 - Before you start a mission it shows you how far away you are from where the mission takes place. Use this to your advantage so you don't have to drive too far ;)

6 - All games have bugs, and if you're talking about not being able to steal other people's personal vehicles, how would you feel if you just spent a million dollars on an Adder, another $100K in mods, and then someone stole it from you? That would suck, wouldn't it? Don't bother telling me that insurance would cover it because you already complained about the insurance.

Any more logical arguments?

Lmao. Ok. I get it. However, the complaint is a silly one. First off, driving to the locations IS part of the mission. Secondly, every mission tells you exactly (to the exact meter) how far you must travel for the first leg of it. So you can choose to start missions that are close or decline missions that require a lot of initial travel.

Killing yourself to purposely fail the mission just so you can be teleported to the starting location seems silly.

Which is annoying should just teleport you there by default especially during timed missions.

Impound is the mechanic that annoys me most. I hang out in blane a lot and having to go to ls every time I die is a chore.

chores in games = bad.

At least add more impound lots around the map.

When a mission pops up on your phone it tells you exactly how far away the mission is. Why don't you try using this to your advantage?

You forgot:

Awful cloud server that's incapable of holding more than a couple of text files without short circuiting

Lack of basic and fundamental lobby options

The awful bank system

AI have no purpose other than giving jobs or special tasks

Cash cards

Rockstar releasing a half finished game

Lack of fast travel

Missions that are only variations of "Fetch this", "kill this", or "escort this"

Deathmatches categorized under missions

Exaggerated costs for the most basic of needs

Mission payouts that are less than ammo costs

Armor that can't block more damage than a couple of water pistol shots or a few bumps in your car.

I know that, but why even waste your time with spawning you there? Especially timed mission where you literally have no chance of completing it when you are in some locations at the start. I'm glad you enjoy driving across map regardless as to whither you're in the mission or not for usually a small payout however I don't.

I hear ya,

I'm struggling to find fun in it anymore and was loving it up to about 2 days ago.

Rank 69. Crew is hardly on anymore.

Lobbies are emptying.. Slowed right down.

So much potential, such a big ball dropped.

Pretty sure the mere fact it's Grand Theft AUTO, means, that by default, you're going to have to DRIVE to do things.

Moaning about having to drive to a mission ?

Because that totally makes my suggestion of teleporting TO THE MISSION useless.

Moaning about having to drive to a mission ?

You can already teleport to the mission by killing yourself and restarting said mission. There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't just be able to teleport there from the start

Killing yourself to purposely fail the mission just so you can be teleported to the starting location seems silly. Lazy.

Driving a faster car to get to a location seems a little lazy.

Not walking everywhere seems a little lazy.

Not floating in mid air and waiting for the earth to rotate below you until you are where you want to be is lazy.

Efficiency =/= laziness.

I don't see why this is such a big deal. It was ranked low on my list. It's a simple matter of 2 minutes between killing self and restarting the mission.

First of all stop spreading the bullsh*t about being a COMBAT game, that's just the lamest griefer's excuse.

This is a sandbox game about CRIME, you're meant to pursue your criminal career and joining partners for the jobs.
PVP is intended as a "mini-game", since it has scores, duel options etc... but is NOT the game.

So i buy an expensive car and i have to keep it in garage or use it in solo session because you can't blow it up without being bad sport (it takes several cars btw, not "just one by accident") or have to pay the insurance for me? ...seriously dude did you read what you wrote here? :D

Impound is quite annoying, true. But you know what? If i don't want to go get it, i let the cops destroy the car, call the insurance to get another one and then call that lazy ass mechanic to bring my ride back to me.

There are 2 way to make money in the game, you choose:

Exploiting = Tons of easy money by exploiting a bug that could come back like a boomerang (have you ever heard of character loss or vanishing cars?) or repeating the same mission/race over and over and get bored of this "repetitive game" (said the grinder).
Playing the game = Lots of fun with friends (get a Crew) and some sweet money (70-100k per session) and RP by playing different missions, races etc...

About the missions driving, two choices here too:
1) Learn to use your phone.
2) Drive and enjoy the ride, better with friends (it also unlocks an achievement)

Bugs:
All games/programs have bug, if you think this one's are too annoying, sell it on gamestop and buy a COMBAT title from a more reliable software house like EA :D

Making double post for this because it looks neater.

A logical argument?

1 - There are plenty of players who enjoy randomly blowing up other people's personal vehicles even without being provoked. You don't think they should be punished for that?

No, that's part of the game. Should people be punished for killing people unprovoked? It's generally better off to destroy their vehicle too as it won't be impounded if they have a wanted level.

2 - See above. If you blow up my car you should have to pay for it.

Why? Think about this logically. If I kill you and blow up your car, how the f*ck are you going to bill me for that? Not to mention it's not in the true spirit of the GTA series.

3 - Where do YOU think your car should end up if you're killed? An impound is as good a place as any as far as I'm concerned, especially when you just died.

Where I left it when I died?

4 - Completely untrue. I'd say you've still got a lot to learn about the game.

I'm not saying it's impossible to gain money, it's just impossible to do it in a practical fashion. There's no real argument against being able to replay missions.

5 - Before you start a mission it shows you how far away you are from where the mission takes place. Use this to your advantage so you don't have to drive too far ;)

Again, not the point. The point is you can ALREADY teleport to the mission. It just takes a whole two minutes. Not really any reason not to.

No, I'm talking about the hijacking NPCs. Some lobbies will mess up where no one can enter non-personal vehicles. And since Rockstar had a whole two weeks to fix online after the game was released I'd expect the game to be relatively playable.

Any more logical arguments?

The bad sport could work better with lighter punishments and laws. Like bad sport server for 4 or 8 hours with 6-8 cars per 24 hour period. I mean you pay the person's insurance anyway which I think is fine, makes people be careful when attacking.

Money is so easy to get... sell luxury cars to spray shops every 60 minutes or so for $8000-9000. once a day sell a car to Simeon from his text message for $5000-10,000. If you race you even make decent money getting last place.

Mission pay outs are definitely annoyingly low... wtf is a Simeon mission only $1000, f*ck that... You get more from robbing a store...

You call this a logical argument?

You call that a refutation?

First of all stop spreading the bullsh*t about being a COMBAT game, that's just the lamest griefer's excuse.

What the hell else is there to do? Missions get old and robbing stores is tiring. 95% of people shoot on sight.

This is a sandbox game about CRIME, you're meant to pursue your criminal career and joining partners for the jobs.

PVP is intended as a "mini-game", since it has scores, duel options etc... but is NOT the game.

Crime includes murder and blowing sh*t up.

GTAO revolves around combat.... Only two major things you can do with money. Cars and guns. PvP is DEFINITELY more than a "mini-game"

it takes several cars btw, not "just one by accident"

Actually, I'm currently a bad sport for destroying around 3-4 personal vehicles that were chasing me and 1 of my friends' personal vehicles.

So it's pretty damn obtainable by just playing the game normally with no malicious intent.

1) Learn to use your phone.

2) Drive and enjoy the ride, better with friends (it also unlocks an achievement)

Because my phone totally teleports me to the mission. I'd be better off just killing myself and restarting the mission than driving. It's faster. More efficient. There's no reason not to. Missions are for gaining RP and money. The less time the better.

4. Almost complete lack of ability to gain money without exploiting.

I really don't see why we can't replay missions. Just raise the prices a little bit and bob's your uncle. Maybe create some more money sinks (new mods, businesses like in the single player, etc).

Armored trucks. 5-10k each

Bounties. 1-9k each

Simeon vehicles. 4-11k each

Crates. 1-3k each

Stolen vehicles. 2,500-9,500 each

That's just from free roam. I'll make at least 100k in a 2-3 hour time frame just from free roam.

How is there a "complete lack of ability to gain money without exploiting,"?
