SausageInACan
So as the title says, I am about to start making my first computer. Does anyone have any useful tips before I start? Also I will be most likely asking questions throughout my build, so if some people could keep checking in, that would be great!
ramarar
What would you want the computer to use for? Gaming or daily work. What is your budget? SausageInACan
I already have all of my components. I was just wondering if anybody has some tips before I actually build the computer. I have already tested, it with the ram, cpu, CPU cooler, and GPU and everything worked great. Now I just need to get it in the case and connect everything. WBaker
Ground yourself. There really is nothing to this. Enjoy your new computer!
SausageInACan
I make sure to keep touching my case when I am working on it.

Finn 7 five 11
Out of curiosity, which components did you select? If I remember correctly you made a topic, am I right?
marmoo
Best tip I can give anyone is on 1st time build always have someone with you who has done it before themselves. They don't do anything part from advice but as you have already started this may be too late. Grounding is important as previous person said but also, take your time. Something don't sit right or feel right, don't make do, start again But most of all ENJOY! @finn - only part I can identify is Corsair PSU Edited November 10, 2013 by marmoo
SausageInACan
Yes I have already finished making it, and it is running very smoothly. The only thing that is not very good about the build is the cable management. Edited November 10, 2013 by SausageInACan
Ryan
Get some zip ties. They'll help with the cable management.
Lunytunes
Make sure the airflow is sealed and can escape once you close the case. The CPU needs a lot of air flowing through it so that it doesn't over heat and it will heat up if you're gaming on it.
SausageInACan
Make sure the airflow is sealed and can escape once you close the case. The CPU needs a lot of air flowing through it so that it doesn't over heat and it will heat up if you're gaming on it. The best thing about my case is that it has alot of room for air flow, so right now I am not to worried about that. Get some zip ties. They'll help with the cable management. My case and motherboard came with a bunch, but i am just not good at deciding where to put the cables, but i think i did a pretty good job for the first time i have built a pc.
