Why did they think it a good idea unlock mods through race wins?

unlocks are only fun if you unlock something awesome. having to wait to be level 100 just to unlock the color you like on a shirt is crazy. im not even going into how much they want to charge for a simple color change.

This is the worst when selecting pearlescent paint when you can't even preview what the color combinations will be like before you pick your primary color and yes the color prices are stupidly high.

Unlocking through race wins is one thing R* got right. I don't know what it is these days but everyone wants everything handed to them on a plate.

For starters, anything you're aiming to unlock is WANTED not NEEDED. You can race legit and unlock everything (unless you can't race). YOU choose to beat a friend over and over.

Agreed. I can see why they did it (Stop rich players from always having an advantage, obviously) but still.

The win system is sh*tty, not that mod are unlocked with it. they should have uped the wins required to mod, and worked races on a point system. eg.: first gets seven wins, second gets six and a loss.

And don't worry about those in here talking sh*t on you friends skill, most of em boosted their wins and are only flexing their e-nuts because you can't prove it anyways.

If he dont like to race he wont need the upgrades. If he enjoy racing he will unlock the upgrades soon enough. Stop rushing the game for your friend and he will enjoy it more.

I understand how it may seem like a bad idea but R* wanted people to try out the activities and races they had available. They needed something to make people do races rather than just reaching a certain level which is why some mods you need to be a certain level to unlock.

It makes sense to unlock race-mods based on your driving accomplishments, but only looking at race wins is a broken system. Instead of rewarding skilled or prolific drivers it just makes people farm the shortest quickest races 100 times.

Really it should work along the same lines as the driving skill stat. Unlocks could be based on some nebulous 'driving points' which are earned based on distance travelled, crashes avoided, stunt jumps passed, race entries, race wins etc. That way you'd get your race mods for using vehicles and playing the game properly. Races would still probably be the best way to unlock them but they wouldn't be the only way and you wouldn't get such a farming problem.

It's only unfair if you race with custom vehicles on. Then yes, people with better upgrades have a better chance to win, which means you have a lesser chance to unlock the upgrades by yourself.

Personally, I don't mind this system, but they could have just made all mods available from the start and youcould buy them soon as you got the money. Of course, that'd make it super easy for money cheaters, but don't they get whatever they want as it is? The way it is now, the system rewards cheaters and farmers while punishing legit players.

just curious why farming should be punished... you act like its a glitch. hate to break it to you, you're not making it to 1000 running 150 missions one time.

Just because you chose not to be bored and mix it up, don't cry like an entitled bitch when people aren't a.d.d. and wanna grind it out. wr still do ALL the same work, were just better at time management.

I know though, anyone with better stuff than you MUST be cheating...

it's kind of backwards that it's all or nothing

I get unlocking mods by racing but if it only counts wins it doesn't really make sense.

I have beaten custom cars in a stock car but it's really hard

Good Gods... Really? Yes, you should have to win to get performance upgrades. Oh sorry, do you want level 4 engine upgrade? Well, you don't need it if you don't race.

It's also pretty damn easy to find custom off/catch up off races, you just keep searching...and just because someone has a custom car doesn't mean they're an amazing racer, 99% of them boosted wins.

Btw, people blaming R* for how the community plays races is hilarious. Lmao

They probably should of went with race in x amount of races to unlock mods. Not wins. That way suckas like me with a 41-239 record could get the mods.
