No they don't. Actually if it were up to SA fanboys GTA would be more like COD.

How so? I like GTA:SA and have never played a COD game. There's no connection.

Because all they seem to want is for GTA to just rehash the SA concept over and over again. SA was great because it was original at the time but if they kept doing that it would just became another cookie cutter game. GTA refuses to do that and some people hate them for it.

The game has a lot of problem, no one can deny this. What I'm trying to do is different: since there are hundred of topics about bugs, glitches and stupid gameplay decision in this forum, here I'm just trying to understand where R* LIED to us. Overhype is a different beast, is bad but is not technically "cheating"... I'm disappointed too, but a LIE is something worse, and I still can't find a real LIE.

What is true is that R* isn't stupid, they played with emotions and subliminal messages, like showing franklin in green walking in the hood to give us a "CJ feeling"... that's why half of complainers here cry because "no hood, no gang wars!!!"...it isn't totally respectful toward the consumers, but since R* NEVER said "we're back in the hood with gang wars and gangsta life", it's OUR fault to have those expectations.

I'm mad too, don't you think that I love GTA V 100%, but that's why I'm currently seeking for a REAL LIE. Still can't find it, unfortunately

Well they showed in the singleplayer trailer that we can purchase houses on that dynasty 8 website, even Amanda mentions to Michael once about buying a new house, they obviously cut that feature out. So thats one "lie".

GTAO went from being completely unplayable to perfectly smooth in a matter of a few short days. But yeah, they don't care about their customers at all ;)

The fact is that it doesn't matter what Rockstar did with this game because people like yourself will never be satisfied and will ALWAYS find something to complain about.

When GTA VI drops you guys will bitch about that and say how great V was. Unreal.

How am I supposed to be satisfied when my campaign gets slashed because of the stupid online? If you are satisfied with that then too bad for you, because this is unacceptable.

I couldn't care less about wiggling out of an argument on gta forums. I really couldn't. But since I dont really want to go through thousands of pages of gta articles that have been published recently I guess your right.

You win, rockstar delivered in every way they said they were going to. Every single way. From the extensive car and weapon customization. To the world of video game changing online. I just hope the next gta comes with a bottle of lube. Cause goin dry really got some of you guys falling in love.

Guess thats just your preference when getting bent over tho.

Thank you for explaining our countrys court system also. Maybe since you have a firm grasp on that you can look up sarcasm on google and know where im coming from.

That's my point. There's nothing wrong with the campaign. You just refuse to be satisfied.

Sucks for you, because I'm having a blast with the game, both online and off.

Wish you all could just enjoy it as well.

You do have a point, I don't get why stuff like gang wars and safehouse purchasing couldn't make it in single-player.

Tell that to the people who are still getting their characters deleted. Oh, and the numerous glitches and bugs.

GTA V single player is all well and good, and even the multiplayers is sort of fun, but to call it "perfectly smooth" is nonsense.

I'll leave the thread before I get accused of being a 'gay pussy rabid CoD fan' or whatever, since those seem to be the go-to comebacks for anyone who disagrees with anyone else on this forum.

That is true. I remember R* saying that there were no purchasable houses in GTA 5 (I think to Game Informer). Was this trailer after they said that, or before? Because if it was before, then they didn't exactly lie.

Juggernate007:

"ou win, rockstar delivered in every way they said they were going to. Every single way. From the extensive car and weapon customization. To the world of video game changing online."

I never said said. I asked you to provide me evidence that they lied. You still haven't done that, so you can't say R* lied.

"I just hope the next gta comes with a bottle of lube. Cause goin dry really got some of you guys falling in love."

Someone sounds mad that they lost.

"Guess thats just your preference when getting bent over tho. "

Still mad.

I love people like you though, I really do. "Hurr durr, R* lied and GTA 5 sucks!" "Where did they lie?" "Shut the f*ck up, they lied! I don't have time, but I know they lied!" "Alright then, so you have no say" "Suck Cockstar's dick fa**ot!"

It happens every time. And yet, I laugh every time, because watching people be that pathetic over something they start themselves is just an amazing thing to watch.

I don't want or expect a rehash of San Andreas. I'm glad GTA V changed it up. It's not perfect but I like single player just fine. Not all of us want the same thing over and over again. Jussayin'

R* kept on bragging about their ''ultimate'' open wolrd/map which is sh*t, especially the countryside, even JC1 had better vegetation. The story is sh*t, the characters as well. Sure, it's GTA, the gameplay is unmatchable but I think we can all agree that GTA V is one of the most over-hyped ( if not THE most over-hyped ) game of all times.

Oh and GTA Online is a f*cking joke where LS is almost a ghost town and there is no wildlife.

I say GTA V is a test. They were testing new things like 3 characters in one game, new plot, see if people prefer MP over SP, larger map or larger storyline, yoga and tennis instead of the classic modes like paramedic/vigilante.

They wanted to make a gigantic profit and they spent around 1/2 their budget JUST on advertising. I think if they invested a portion of that money on more writers maybe they could have had nice diversity in the game.

Of course, I don't see GTA V as overhyped. When I play GTA, I play to steal cars (kinda what the title of the game is :p) and GTA V supplied me with beautiful cars and customization for those. Although the city of LS wasn't as nice as LC (I live in NYC so it might be my personal bias), the weapons were a plus to my experience.

Don't be disappointed if it didn't fill all of your expectations. Think about it, Rockstar sees the disappointment in this game so they might change it in GTA VI

But wasn't GTA IV a test of the RAGE engine originally? With GTA V they had the chance to put in way better activities than tennis and yoga, I can't imagine anyone wanting that in a GTA game especially from people who said how pointless bowling in GTA IV was. I'm glad they added customization, planes and a larger map back into the game, but I can't help but feel like some things should have been done better.

Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet, said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months.

To me this is a lie. But our opinions on a quality video game may differ.

Bull, san andreas was more "deep" and "immersive" world. Hell rdr was more realistic to this statement.

This was just 2 minutes on google. Sure I can find more.

GTA SA ... a more deep and immersive world?

I mean, I can understand Red Dead... but San Andreas? I can understand people liking the gameplay more or having 3 cities more, but finding it more immersive? Your standards for what makes a world that feels alive and convincing must be completely different from mine.

Yep, RDR's world was definitely more beautiful than GTA V's. Rockstar kinda stretched their ego a bit there.

It s more subjective than anything, so it's a lie and not a lie. As a lie, we mean something R* blatantly lied about. Nothing subjective. Like, if they said that there was gonna be a gun called 'M4' in the game. That'd be a lie that's in no way subjective

If you read my posts earlier I said they didn't lie. Just misrepresented it.

I was expecting a new medium of gaming that would change the way games are made. That was from a game informer magazine that I no longer have or id show it.

So whats the BOLD new direction?

Three protagonists instead of one.

Retired bank robber story instead of dealing with organized crime.

You can tackle a few missions in several ways (but not all)

and of course GTA:O is a massive step for them to take in terms of online. Especially because they intend to keep upgrading it.

SmoothGetaway

This is the full transcription of the gameplay trailer. Now, tell me where are the lies?

Narrator: With Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar have tried to re-imagine the open world game in a number of ways. The game world is beautiful, massive and diverse. A sprawling, satirical re-imagining of modern Southern California. Covering mountains and oceans, expensive stores, and strip malls. Urban decay, and untouched wilderness. Beaches and backwoods. The sublime, and the ridiculous. Greed, and hypocrisy.

Narrator: For the first time, the game features not one, but three would-be heroes.

Narrator: Michael, a once successful bank robber, and now less successful family man.

Narrator: Franklin, a humble street hustler convinced he's surrounded by morons.

Narrator: The less said about him, the better.

Introducing three lead characters, transforms both the narrative into one interwoven story and the structure of individual missions. Players can cut between vantage points.

Narrator: And from one high octane moment to the other.

Narrator: This helps to give missions new levels of diversity and intensity.

Narrator: When not on a mission, the use of three lead characters also allow for a touch of voyeurism. As you can drop in at any moment and find out what your new friends have been up to as they go about their days.

Narrator: The world is not only huge, it's packed with a vast array of things to see and do; cars to customize, planes to fly, clothes to buy, sports to play, nirvana's to pursue, oceans to dive, animals to spot, hunt, or be hunted by, freaks to watch, meet, and befriend.

Narrator: Bounties to hunt...

Narrator: And on and on.

Narrator: There's also been a huge focus on mechanics in the game, to make every aspect as fun and fluid as it is broad. Everything from driving and shooting, to tennis and bike riding feels fun and responsive. However, alongside all of this leisure, people also have to take care of business. For all their pretensions, these men are dangerous thieves.

Narrator: To survive, they have to setup and pull off a series of increasingly audacious heists.

Narrator: The player sets these up for themselves and decides how to execute them and with whom.

Narrator: After the take is divided, you decide what to spend your money on. Anything from sensible investments, like tattoos and fast cars, to risky ventures like stocks or Los Santos real estate. And then there's GTA Online which we will show you properly soon.

The only points where there could be some discussion are

1) "player can cut between vantage points" ---> technically correct, but half of the time Player MUST cut betwen points when the game forces you

2) "The player sets these (robberies) up for themselves " ---> technically correct because WE choose the way the mission goes, but half of the time we just prepare the tools, we don't "set" anything

3) "Invest in (...) Los santos real estate"---> technically correct since you can buy proprieties, but the true "real estate" site works only online.

The rest is just big words and hyperboles used by EVERY marketing campain in the world...or you REALLY think that drinking Red Bull you'll have a pair of wings?

I'm not accusing anyone, I'm here to debate, and if someone can shows real lies, I'll be very happy to talk about it.

Please tell me, what do you gain by defending them? They are a greedy company who USED to be good, cared about their fans and made great games, these days they sacrifice your singleplayer experience for online trash & overhype the hell out of the games like it's nothing you ever seen before. Not to mention they bribe big gaming reviewing sites to give high scores.

When these types of discussions come up, no one is 'defending R*'. Jesus.

That sounds so f*cking dumb.

News flash turds! We're defending reality. Thats what I get out of this. I get to keep living in a world where facts still matter!

I have my own complaints with the game but loudly yelling 'They lied!!' is something children do.

When they said a deep level of customization on guns and cars I expected more. Not the same 3 accessories for every gun. Or that 1 out of every ten cars has 2 bumpers to choose from.
