I agree that Rockstar have put out a very average attempt for GTA: Online. Particularly compared to the incredibly polished, "best game ever", GTA V.

 

Online is pretty shoddy simply because some of the key game mechanics are just basically wrong.

 

I'm hopeful they'll fully review the "fun" aspect of GTA: Online to make it a far more addictive, rewarding and original experience. Such a shame to have a potentially awesome game running with poor systems. It is all very correctable if they plan a re-write for version 2.

 

I've noticed the lack of players in lobbies too. I'm assuming this is something R* are looking to correct at the moment. At least, I hope they are!

Yeah I can't get in a lobby with more than 5 people. I'm almost done with this game, it's ridiculous cause R* f*cked everything up.

This news article says that Future Shop will give a free copy of BF4, AC4 or COD Ghosts with any game trade-in.

 

Just thought I'd share it with anyone else who might be interested. Now I can trade a broken online game for one that works!

Same it's really frustrating, I had to go on my low level alt and find a nice full lobby forcing my friend to join so I can switch characters and finally enter this server. It's painful.

its been the opposite for me. now im in the lobby with 2 or 3 other players and atleast one of them is a total griefing [email protected] who will seek you out because they have no one else to hassle. it kind of sucks.

Its gotta be the servers. Yesterday was fine, and today every session I joined it was 6-7 players tops. Plus I lost a truck I modded yesterday.

 

Then I get the same truck, modded it again, then saved to story mode. Come back to online and its gone again. But for some strange reason, it saved the $ amount I lost modding the truck.

 

But I never got the standard rockstar warning about the cloud servers being down. wtf.

You think they're level-restricting free-roams? I was wondering about that, it did look like I was encountering abnormally high levels on my main account and more normal levels on my 2nd account, but I wasn't entirely sure.

Go into the options and change the controls back to veteran I believe. It's just like the BF3 controls

I rarely end up in a session with more than 8 people and if I do it quickly thins out after about 15 minutes. I play free aim and usually early in the morning since I work graveyard. This probably has a lot to do with it. I really wish they would fix match making to work per mission and not per session. It really needs a bigger pool of players that want to do the same thing. I don't care if I end up in a different session than when I started when I go back to freemode. I just want people to compete against. I have over 32 hours played online and I think I've had one 8 player race in that time (maybe, it might have been 6 or 7). Generally I only have one or two other people with me for ANY mission I do. Basically if your not in a crew and/or don't have any friends the online experience is worthless and terrible

Thank God. I thought I did something wrong and it was just me. Seems like all of is are having the same issue today. They should consolidate some servers.
