dr00gy
Personally, I don't think it was worth the effort. All of that just for a crappy story and a short mission where some bloke legs it one. Was anybody else disappointed with this?
Backfire6
What? After collecting them it doesn't give you anything? wow....I'll remember not to collect them then.

grasseyeball
I was hoping for a great LA Noire throwback - investigate this guys house, interrogation etc. but it was just another short and simple s&f mission. The only thing you get in return is (eventually) 100% and a t-shirt to boot.

Tonesta
Letters are collectables - same as pigeons in IV, tags and photos and horseshoes in SA, and packages in III. They're there as an incentive for people to go out and look at this incredible, detailed world Rockstar have created. If you don't like simply exploring and collecting, then clearly you're not going to like this part of the game. Personally I really enjoy it as a contrast to the somewhat more intense missions - and I guess there's enough people like me that it's worth R*'s while to keep putting them in every GTA. p.s. Why parachute onto the bridge stantion? I landed a helicopter there - took no time at all. Now admittedly the helicopter then fell off once I'd got out and I had to jump off. But it didn't take long! spamtackey
In the HD era, Rockstar have fallen painfully short in terms of rewarding the player. GTA III: 100 Hidden Packages - Almost All Weapons and Body Armor at Hideout FireTruck - Flamethrower at hideout Vigilante - Wanted Bribes at Hideoute Paramedic - Health + Adrenalin at hideout + Infinite Sprint GTA VC: 100 Hidden Packages - A lot of weapons at hideout Firetruck - Fireproof Ambulance - Infinite Sprint Vigilante - Extra Armor Pizza - Extra Health GTA SA: Tags - Weapons in Los Santos Hideout Oysters - Infinite or at least full breath Horseshoes - Weapons at Las Venturas and Full Luck Photos - Weapons at San Fierro Vigilante - Extra armor Paramedic - Extra health Burglar - Infinite Sprint GTA IV: Flying Rats - Nothing Drug drives - Nothing Car thefts - Nothing Car texts - Nothing GTA V: Bounty Hunting - Nothing Gun Smuggling - Nothing Hunting - Some money Epsilon - Either money or a useless tractor Flight School - Flight stat increase but no bonus for completing them Sports + Yoga - Maybe some stat increases, but still... Letter Scraps - A short bland mission Spaceship Parts - Space Docker car Nuclear Waste - Nothing (to my knowledge) Submarine Parts - A small amount of money. What happened to the rewards? I love the game very much, but i really liked the 3d-generation approach to rewards. At the time you got 100% completition in VC you felt like a one-man-army. Your health was higher, your armor was better, you had free weapons outside your mansion, your mansion contained small "trophies" (like the broken statue when you had collected every statue) and your mansion got more vehicles around it (water chopper, limo). SoulTrain75
i love finding the hidden things. thats one of my favorite things to do in gta games. it gives me a reason to explore some areas of the map i would probally not explore to much otherwise. i wish they would add more hidden things to collect through dlc that would be cool. simonp92
The reward is terrible yes,but it's still one of the best hidden packages rewards in a GTA game.
Lay
I'm still half way through them, I like to explore so I don't mind its a sh*tty 'reward' for doing it.

Yeah, they all lead to one thing, 100% completition. And the reward for having completed the game 100% is seeing a f*cking UFO. This is the kind of reward you'd expect from a f*cking Sims game or EXPANSION PACK even. Good god ...

I had to land my chopper between the things and get out and grab the letter scrap... then die and respawn to go after the next one... or was that a spaceship part... I forget. Either way, it was a pain and I tried to get on from the mountain area by driving big trucks over to it and climbing on them and jumping over but it never worked. dr00gy
I didn't say that they shouldn't include collections in GTA, I was simply stating that I was expecting more of a reward or outcome for completing the notes. The prize for the UFOs is quite cool and something we can use and have fun with, plus the cutscene was better than the letter scraps. I love exploring both irl and in games, that's pretty much what I spend most of my time doing in games (Skyrim, GTA, Minecraft) and I said to a friend that it's great how many places you see that you would probably never come across if you didn't do the collections. I just wish that the cutscene was more of a big deal and had more 'wow' if you know what I mean. It was just a let down for such a huge task, that's all. Shame.
