Calling Merryweather to send mercenaries to kill another player

When you call in a hit with merryweather, does the marked player know that you did it? Can you just randomly call in hits and nobody will know that it was you?

Yes, they know it was you and it alerts them that people are on the way. It's best to do it to the lower level players as they don't see it coming.

yea its so dumb it lets the player know. would be so much better if the other player has no clue its coming. if merc's are called on you all you have to do is go inside your apartment and they go away

I used it once on top of a car park, guy I was fighting was down in the street in cover and neither of us could get a kill-shot angle. I called a mugger from Lamar and the Merryweather mercs at the same time, mugger hit him first and knocked him over so I started rattling down suppressive fire, then the mercs finished him off.

 

I sent a team of mercs against one dude before and got an unsuccessful message, so I think they're better used to compliment your own attack instead if making one by themselves.
