+1 with OP, love the idea. I would love to watch a movie while someone keeps buzzing my apartment trying to get in, or while a helicopter flies outside my window to taunt me, not to mention hearing people shout the N word on mic in the background.

I can't see the issue with this tbh. It's live streaming we all own consoles with which we live stream all the time. Now let me try to give an example to clear up the mass confusion.

 

E.g.

 

Me- Enjoyed a session on GTAO

Her - "Want to watch a film?"

Me - "OK" *heads to apartment and turns on TV. Apartment TV edge is removed to allow full screen HD could this truly be done!!!. TV guide, micro transaction. Done.

Her - *happy

Me - * happy

FILM ENDS

Her- *bed

Me- *straight to garage with gifted $$$ incentive for the film.

 

ALTERNATIVE - PSN, LoveFilm, Netflix etc. etc. It's not a great leap.

 

Whilst in FILM mode all distractions are removed, no buzzers, turn your mic off unless some keen dev makes it so that it will do so automatically *shock*. Excess discs wtf why?

Now I'm not saying that this is just what I'm looking for in a game but having seen the GTAO environment it is not a stretch to imagine. Not really getting the hate tbh?

The only benefit of this would be to invite people over in the virtual GTA world to watch a movie with you...so maybe RL friends who live far away..or something to that affect.

16 players in the world is not enough what so ever. You're asking for movie rentals? So that some of the 16 players sit in their apartment/movies for 2 hours? Also, rockstar can barely handle a video game, let alone movies.

I've seen nothing to suggest this idea sucks as bad as folk have suggested and each issue raised has an easy fix. When they start releasing Batmobiles as exclusive DLC with rental purchase, watch the masses jump onboard.

 

Next gen is round the corner and my guess is that GTAO will crossover. Yes new disc/download for GTA 6 but the profile will remain as will characters. Peace out
