Vosa
Hey I've been playing this since the day it came out and all of a sudden it froze my xbox. Restarted and kept getting the unrecognizable disc error and finally got it to start but it kept quitting. Deleted everything gta 5 on my hard drive and every time I try to reinstall it gets to 4095 and stays there. That exact spot every time, and afterwards I go into the game save and it shows part 0, 1, and 2 but not 3. Anybody have a solution?

FAH-Q
Nothing much to say. It's either the disc itself or the Xbox. The same thing happened to me with my PS3 with IV. All of a sudden it stopped reading IV. Kept getting an error code. Never worked after that, but V works just fine. I would say it was the Xbox simply because there are two discs for GTA V on that platform. I could see one disc maybe having an issue but two? Try playing other games, see if they work... If other games work, then it must be the disc. Edited November 7, 2013 by CallTheCoroner
Vosa
Problem is I've had that disc problem with other games maybe 3 times in the past year or the tray wouldn't open. It's the older 360. Like I said I've played the game since release night with virtually no problems so I'm doubting it's the discs, however I've googled this and many people say gta 5 can crash older 360s like mine. Just weird because it's been fine for so long and now all of a sudden. Also like I said it gets to 4095 of the installation

It just happens like that, especially when it's old. Games like V will crash the sh*t out of an old console. You're gonna have to buy a new console. Thanks rockstar. Tried installing to a flash drive. Not working either.

Vosa
Didn't think you could do that on 360 lol. I'm not that upset because I got the 360 on Craigslist for like 150 bucks a longggg time ago so I got my money out of it. Just kind of grimy, rockstar must've known about this being a possible issue and kept their mouths shut to rake in the money.

Rockstar can't be held responsible for the shaky hardware of older xbox 360s succumbing to the strain. It's a pretty well known fact that the early 360s had terrible quality. MindCorrupt
Are you able to return the disks for a new pair? or trying them on another 360? Might be worth a shot before investing in another console.
Vosa
Are you able to return the disks for a new pair? or trying them on another 360? Might be worth a shot before investing in another console. I have class tomorrow night so I'll try to swap the discs at GameStop. Don't have my receipt so well see. Regardless I'm not going out and buying another 360 seeing as it is clearly obsolete now. If it's broken I'll just use it for Netflix until I can afford a next gen console. Gonna be dumping my money into boosting my car this winter so I doubt ill have a next gen console until spring. Which is fine, haven't decided which to get so that gives each system a chance to prove itself and I can see which exclusive games are more appealing. Wish I knew about this though, now I can't even kill a few hours after work with COD or something

I've had mine for 4 years and it still works like a dream. Some Jaspers probably did red ring, but each time they made variations to the hardware Microsoft definitely made improvements. At launch the 360 hardware was a joke. My 360 is one of the early 20gb 360s that gave an error code which ended up being Red Ring in error-code form. Had to send it away to be repaired by the store rather than by Microsoft. Haven't had any real problems since. 4 years since I got it back and it's still working strong. No Jasper either. Whatever they did to fix it did the job. I do wish I had the HDMI output though.
Vosa
Mine shows red lights and an error code occasionally too. I just shut it off and turn it back on and it's always worked after doing that haha. Pretty regularly actually. Not sure if that's a red ring or related to my current issue

Not sure if that's a red ring or related to my current issue If it's doing something like that then there is definitely something wrong with the system. I honestly don't know what I'd do if my systems died right now. If Next-gen was backwards compatible I'd just go with that, but that's not the case. Vosa
Yeah no doubt but it's been doing that like once a month for a few years and it's been fine so I haven't been worried about it. Yeah it sucks but idk oh well
Vosa
Hey I think I got it to work? So I installed disc 1 (the install disc) to the flash drive since it wouldn't complete on the hard drive. Then I moved it to the hard drive and am currently 20% into installing the play disc on the flash drive. I popped in disc 2 after the install and it would do the police siren rockstar logo thing then disc unreadable. Read that putting install disc on hard drive and play disc on USB works. I'll let you know, looks promising...
Hooves07
I have an older xbox (white brick arcade model with overpriced 20GB HDD). GTA V works fine. It may actually be your system. They do go out I am on my 4th since xbox360 release day.
