The story of Stevie.

(long read ahead, want to do something while my bounty disappears. most of it is irrelevant. suggest tl;dr)

 

So, as you do, I stole a car requested by Simeon. Unfortunately, I also got a nice, hefty 9k bounty on my head. I hastily dashed down to the docks to sell it.

 

And this is where we meet the random player. In this instance, I'll call him Stevie. As I came in to sell my FQ2, Stevie, like a pro, landed his cargobob on top of me. I have no problem with this, it's what any bounty hunter would do. Well, in a better way perhaps. With the ridiculous power of auto-aim, I drop him, and sell the car.

 

This is where the fun begins. As well as a 9k reward, Stevie's also going to want to avenge his death. I bought myself some time by calling Lester to hide me from the map for a minute. I utilised this by running up to the nearby dock roof and camping out.

 

On his first attempt. Stevie tried to take me out with a sniper. Of course, he didn't know where I was. Easy kill.

 

On his second, the result was the same. He ran in the open. I shot him open. (yay moving target)

 

On his third and final assassination attempt for a while, he got his crippled Cargobob and made his way towards me. Only took a few sniper shots to bring it crashing down.

 

So, then a cop made his way up the ladder, forcing me to kill him, giving me 3 stars etc eventually leading to me getting killed by them. I wasn't very entertained by this whole waiting game, so when I respawned, I once again gave Lester a call and hid my blip from the map. This time, I used it to escape from the docks and get to the nearby helipad and commandeer a Buzzard.

 

I flew up to the Maze Bank building and waited for him to make his move. Stevie finally came crawling up with another cargobob, and when he realised that I was probably going to shoot him down before he got to me, he made a detour. This was the last I saw of good ol' Stevie.

 

I thought he was going to try and snipe me, but I was positive my character wouldn't show up due to the draw distance.

 

But he sniped me. Not from the end of his rifle, but from the game. Which is what i'm sure of, as I hadn't wronged anybody else...

 

tl;dr: someone failed to claim a 9k bounty on me and eventually kicked me out of the free roam - at least I think so. He's the only one with good reason to do so. No crew members with him or anything.

 

Story of Stevie over - What gives with the kick system? There was also a time where I was in a small public free roam with four friends and two randoms. Suddenly, my friends and I all start getting kicked from the game.

It was a nice read.

 

I too got kicked a few times from freeroam. Probably because people hate those who have passive mode on. I remember once I just logged in and they kicked me before even I could exit my apt.

 

I play Invite only these days, so I don't care.

99% chance you didn't actually get kicked by players, but it's the default msg you receive when you lag out.
