why do we get charged for calling a friend?

If you attempt to call an in game friend, successful or not, you get a $10 charge ...

 

Anyone know why??

Because your plan doesn't include daytime minutes. Or if you're calling a friend it means they're in a different session, which means it's long distance and free nationwide long distance isn't included in your plan. Get a better plan.

Too bad GTA is set in america, where most people have to pay to make phone calls.

 

the only exception is if u have a fed phone.

What's a fed phone?

Federal/ govt assistance phone. Basically some pos flip phone with pre-paid minutes on it that do not roll over. 100% free. Usually tapped.
