anyone else only play in private sessions?

i love public sessions, sometimes u get the good, most of the time the bads!! i love spawn killing ppl and getting them to blow up my insured chopper. love chasing ppl around in my entity with my armor piercing pistol, so much killing and mayhem happens some nights i dont get to do a single mission lol

For you, maybe. While you were playing with RPGs at the airport (I presume) in GTAIV, I was spending the majority of my time racing. Neither play style is better or worse. Different strokes for different folks, ya know?

 

 

 

I was actually able to befriend 10 people in one public session so we could all do the Titan achievement.

 

I mean... you all talk hard all the time. Seems wussy.

 

I'm glad to hear you were able to make some friends and complete an achievement, but some of us aren't playing GTA to make friends or to socialize. I'm being devil's advocate though, as I do regularly enjoy free roam (free aim, like a big boy). But the cool thing about GTA is that it allows for numerous play styles, none of which are any more or less legit than the other.

Only to sell a car every day (without needing to worry about pathetic spawn campers) and then jack NPC vehicles until I get a nice bounty on my head.

 

Then I'm right back to public sessions.

Races can be joined or hosted from public or private lobbies.

 

You seem overly concerned with how others spend their in game time (to the point of trolling this thread), why is that? You shouldn't take it personally, we're all just trying to enjoy the game in our own way.

I have been using invite only, mainly to avoid painful ear rape.

Today I was playing a couple of public sessions, spent about twenty minutes with a friend each in our own sub checking out the sea bed and got 'kicked by other players'. Started a new public session, same again. I wasn't even near the other people. I'm afraid i'll become a bad sport if this keeps up.. Suppose i'll stay invite only ;[

It is what it is. Most public sessions suck balls if your looking to make some cash or just drive around. People shoot you down for no reason, there is NO respect for those in a simeon vehicle. Seriously what good is it to get into a kill war with someone trying to sell a vehicle. Just cuz you couldnt find one in time, you have to wuss kill someone else who did? And also f*ck up the vehicle itself so its now worthless? Get f*cked.

 

I play invite only the majority of the time. Until they have done a better job seperating the community and give us more content, that is where I will spend 80% of my time.

I'm the opposite, I only play in public sessions. I like the challenge of a dynamic open world PvP environment, you never know what's going to happen. Have to be able to think on your feet to overcome the various challenges it presents.

 

Plus, I like meeting new people. Last night I was in a lobby with two guys who were rap battling. One was friggen amazing, and he sounded like Eminem lol.

 

Only time I start invite-only is if I need to do something that can't be done amidst the general public, like performing tests.

If i wanna game with just my buddies and grind on missions I will play invite only, but, if i am just looking to pass the time I will jump into a public sesh and run down bounties. Last night jumped in to a public game and it was all out war... alot of fun though.

I've been playing more privates just so I can be more focused on getting things done. But mostly public with randoms.

I use private to get the rare vehicles and to tune up my cars.

 

That way no one can keep blowing them up when you are trying out new mods.

Plus getting the BF Surf Bus thingy is hard as its so slow and easy target.

 

Easy to get away from spawn killing though - use you phone to quick start race - you can do it so fast and you character just stands there getting gunned but not killed while it loads up.

 

I love online with a full lobby of craziness - You can stay clear if needed - MAP is big enough.

But diving in to running gun fights is awesome. I'm no good at shooting so I just get wasted all the time but its all good fun.

I don't really have issues with public sessions. If people mess with me, I'll either run them around the map until they get bored, or fight back for a bit. If it's too stupid, I'll just find a new session, unless it's one with friends in it. However, the sessions with friends in it tend to be safe because the few friends I have in this game tend to have crews of like-minded people who will stop any bullsh*t presented by other players.

The only time i go into a private session (which is very rare) is when i want to rob armoured trucks and cant seem to find a lobby with all players above the required level.

 

Public lobbies are what i enjoy most. Always gotta be on your toes & aware of those white dots.

I would say maybe 30-40% of the time I do when I first log on and don't feel like playing with anyone at the moment. I wouldn't enjoy playing it a majority of the time though since it feels so empty and boring without knowing someone could chase you at any moment.

I only play in either private "Invite only" or crew only lobbies. The few times I've been in a public lobby I always seem to end up with kn*bheads so it's not worth the hassle.

actually its the first thing i start with... try joining a open lobby! but it seems the only proper way for me is to join a friends session.... im always happy when it works/join and see a ton of people in that session... only thing is many people come in and leave instant moment... many people just passes without honk a horn or stops blow your brains out and move on... then no one ever joins invites you send them but they all keep inviting me! people who dont know how messages on theyre cellphones work, maybe some good Players here want to add me for some serious gaming and try to enjoy the game for now? ps3 : Delminator

It's funny how you think that doing anything in GTA shows how ballsy you are. I'll play my game that I bought however I want guy. How much you random elitists seem to care about what I do is kind of just obnoxious and borderline f*cking creepy.

I mean... I get it to just go look for cars or something... or to get people to fly a Titan with you. Like with 10 people in it. Or just... do something really coordinated. Like get a whole crew up in the air and parachute at the same time.

We are doing survivals, missions, whatever we can think of. The advantages are many, especially since we always have enough to fill up any mission we might want to try.

 

The only "disadvantage" I have is not participating in what I see as retarded free roam mindless gangbang. Some like it, some don`t. I don`t.

 

My main goal for this game was to play with friends, in a relaxing manner, doing whatever we might feel like doing. Public lobbies aren`t relaxing for me and neither are for the friends I play with.

I will only start in Invite only mode or Crew session mode so any crew members from multiple crews can join if they want. Sometimes once I get all my normal money making thing done I might join a public.

Been doing invite only/crew and friends servers since the start. Every now and then I'll try a public lobby, but I'd rather join an offroading session with my crew or get money in invite only and play my guy like he's a custom character in SP.

Yes, day 2 I got sick of the a-holes that thought they were playing gta4 and griefing me for $2000 a pop even though I was in passive mode and had zero interest in play grab ass with them. Could they not tell? Me standing out of reach immune to their gunfire? Then I

Why do you care how others besides yourself play the game? Someone playing in an invite only session or solo session does not effect you in anyway. Just because you find public sessions fun doesn't mean everyone does. Stop imposing your will onto others and play the game how you want and let others play the game how they want.
