Race maps

I hope they come out with new Race maps soon, or allow player edited maps soon. I have to say it's getting a bit old doing Criminal records/Down the drain with super cars. which is 75% of race lobbies. Race is my favorite game type and I'm excited to see what people come up with when they finally do release player edited maps.

I plan to do a lot of custom races when they get the creator working.

I will say this though, if you though Criminal Records was short, I am sure someone is going to make some pretty stupid rep spamming races when this gets released.

Good point, but I think Rockstar has to approve races for general use. if it's just a race with a start and finish right next to each other I doubt you'd be able to reap any sort of reward from it. unless they scale races by distance/time in which case races like criminal records would have severe payout reductions. Which is fine by me tbh.

If you can make a metre long race you probably will need to do it about 1.5 million times to amass any worthwhile rewards, or as MeatShield says you won't get anything from it

I guess there will be minimums and maximums in the race creator.

I believe they are going to make a minimum checkpoint system. I plan on making a Real Grand Tour race myself. I want a race that encompasses the entire interstate around the entire map.

think me and grndzero have discussed the "grandest tour" before and im totally up for that...

 

minimum checkpoints would be a good way to enforce it... but i would like to see a 1/4 mile track aswell as some longer more technical racing.... jsut a shame we cant get NOS lvl 1,2 and 3 upgrades at LSC, as drag racing comes down to timing, quick starts and pedal to the metal...

 

if your on psn though hook up with me T0lly, Katrina90 or ToBContinued from the GTAforums, ive racd with each of them, some a few times over and they are good racers that like to vary it up a bit, had a muscle cars round "over the hump" last night wtih T0lly, that was fun...

 

i think i might start and Approved Racers thread, so we can each post with the names of racers (from the GTAF of course) that we approve of, in terms of not being a dick, hosting well (i.e listening to majority votes, tunring catchup off,m changing class type, predeciding whether to change track or reply etc) clean racing and genreally good people,, that way we can all get together for some racetimes... obviously the more times you see someones name in posts, the more they have been raced with and the higer there approval rating will be,

Hrm, just me an idea mo-seph, a 1/4 drag track at any of the airports. LSA and Zancudo for up to 16 cars starting in a flat line with a large checkpoint(if possible) at the end so no one has to start behind anyone else. Trevor's airfield could host smaller ones.

thats totally what i would like to see GrndZero LSX woudl be awesome at night (as it is already in the lap circuit on their)

 

be interesting if the content creator lets us add things like cardboard, that would make a drag race interesting...
