I really liked LS, it had more of an ''alive'' vibe. Pedestrians actually talking to eachother or focused in updating their LifeIndaver statuses. Police Officers on foot that travel on pairs stopping at Homeless people commanding them to move along, the sound of Sirens and Firetrucks, the ambulances responding to somewhere and Police on pursuit of vehicles, the unique pedestrians you can find around like Jesse or Baygor The Epsilonist.

The Highway filled with vehicles and that change from LS to BC, where you can actually see that LS is filled with smog and such, the gardeners taking care of the Country club and Road Workers drilling holes.

Mirror Park with the hipsters and that really nice lake, the normal suburban area.. the beaches with the people that are bathing or gettin' themselves a natural tan, Sports freaks; Joggers runnin' around with their dogs or people in bicycles doing some sort of race.

Solomon's studios with the Sec Guards and the Alien or Astronout dressed Actors plus that Italy scenary being worked on by Staff, Michael going around showing Jim that hes happy with the outcome

East LS/Strawberry with the Gangs hangin' around the Projects and Grove Street with their pimped up cars, sometimes goes up in a fight, the Families greeting Franklin but with Michael or Trevor they're hostile to.

The ports filled with actual workers going about their day transporting trailers from here to there and the weird French Disorted Police Siren sound that goes around plus that beeping.

I really feel LS has more vibe rather than LC

My thoughts, exactly. In my opinion, there is no comparison to be had between IV and V. I played in LC for 8 years, and after seeing San Andreas remade in HD... Well, let's just say I don't regret selling my copy of GTA: IV as soon as I picked up V.

Liberty City will be missed, but long live Los Santos!

1st. of all, Im not your Dude, Buddy.

2nd. There were a lot of Corrupted Goverment Officials and Police Officers in most of the games, I remember Colonel Cortez giving you missions such as to steal a tank from a Military Convoy and stop the french GIGN and other agencies from Arresting him.

3rd. You're not fighting Terrorists all the damn time, the only time where I've killed a Terrorist was on the Hostile Negotiation mission, other missions had me kill G-Men and yeah make me infiltrate facilites.

4th. Just because I like those missions doesn't mean I want Grand Call of Theft Duty: Modern Autos, making those assumptions just make you seem a Little bit sutpid.

1. well ok I guess

2. So Colonel Cortez was a corrupt goverment official? We had to work with Toreno (he was CIA) but that was just a few missions.

The FIB plays a major part in the SP of GTA V, you even have to do 3 of the 6 heists for them??!

3. Yeah I didn't say that

4. It seems you missed the point GTA is all about real criminals

You say you like to do "cool" stuff like infiltrating a building and getting the target out, sound familiar??

Thats exactly the sh*t you do in COD or Splinter Cell, now creating a war between two mafia families thats more GTA

I think you should stick to COD because Rockstar just wanted to try something different with GTA V (or at least I hope so) next GTA will be all about real criminals again that dont infiltrate buildings but do Gang Wars

Well im not going to play COD, because I hate it. If you think that I like COD just for having Action Packed Missions in a GTA game then you should truely go see a Shrink once a week.

An for me the only real Criminal in the whole damn Series was Tommy.

Los Santos has a much better atomosphere. Simply because it might look more live and full of rich scumbags, but it's as bad as any other smug, grey, criminally ridden atmospheres like in IV and so on.

GTA IV. I haven't been to LA, but I lived in NY and I must say that R* got the feeling of it perfect. It was only missing more peds, and random niggas coming to whoop yo ass.

GTA V looks like LA, but I don't know about the feel.

Edit: You mean which just felt better? LC was way better than LS... Ain't sh*t to do in Los Santos but get drunk, get shot, then drive out to Blaine County...

Creating a mafia war is also "action-packed" but its your definition of action thats not typical of GTA that sh*t happens in games like COD, Splinter Cell thats why I suggested you play these games

so CJ, Niko, Johny, Luis, Michael, Franklin and Trevor !! are no criminals WTF?

I think V feels extremely "alive" and fun, whereas IV felt more static and gloomy. Both great feelings in their own ways.

V feels much more alive. The gangs actually attack you now unlike in IV where they would just run away screaming. There is just much more action to come across while roaming around the map, random encounters/ hitchhikers, animals, angry rednecks...

Don't get me wrong, I like IV, but I just really prefer the sunny bright west coast vibe, especially cause I actually live in LA. This game makes me feel at home.

Defiantly GTA V for me, love IV but I do love the vibe of V. The streets are packed, people on the beach, it feels like a true vacation and it resembles LA perfectly.

I love V more because I love the feeling that during the heists we are ripping off a bunchy of rich folks. I didn't feel a hint of guilt during the jewelry store heist. IV doesn't give me that feeling.

I disagree. While gangs are more prone to attack in general the peds feel like lifeless zombies IMO. When it rains they no longer react like grabbing their umbrellas or trying to find cover. They just walk around like it's bright and sunny. Lame.

I've probably logged nearly 100 hours playing GTA V and have spent some quality time walking around the city, but the most peds seem to is just stand around talking. I have seem gardeners in Rockford Hills and construction workers, but that's about it.

In GTA IV I saw peds buying food from vendors, looking through shop windows, sweeping footpaths, maintaining parks, watering plants, jogging in Middle Park, trash collectors on route in the morning etc. GTA V genuinely feels like a step backwards in that regard and the "random" encounters aren't really random.

They're heavily scripted. I'd even say RDR was probably a bit more dynamic although most of the situations repeated they occurred in different parts of the map. With GTA V it's always the same dude/dudette in the same spot who needs help with something.

V has much more going on, but the character-switching I think has a side-effect of emotional detachment. In IV, Niko is you and you are Niko. In V, although you do identify with the character you're currently controlling off-mission, on-mission you're frequently prompted to switch and you can't help but feel detached. All three characters are you but also none of them are you. Therefore I think as Niko you can feel more immersed in IV's atmosphere, though you can achieve this feeling in V if you stick with one character in free roam for a long time.

- V still haves gardeners, they aren't just in the parks anymore. They take care of the Country side club or other things.

- There are road crews around industrial areas ''Fracking'' and replacing the road

- When Idle, pestrians are most likely to update their LifeIndaver status or play Ifruit Games, take out cigarretes or most likely talk to eachother.

- They still look at Shop Windows.

- Unlike IV, they will look at both sides before crossing a Street, if it happens that the

stoplight changes to Green while they are crossing, they will jog to the other end.

- You can actually find them inside certain shops looking at the products, this is most common to the 24/7s though.

- Trashmen are actually rare to find, but they do their stuff unlike IV where you just see them hang around.

- You can spot ambulances or Firetrucks being dispatched somewhere

I don't feel like this being a stepback from IV.

- Yeah. That's the only place I've seen them, but I've only seen a couple. I saw peds maintaining all the time in GTA IV.

-They were in GTA IV too.

-The GTA IV equivalent was peds talking on phones, drinking coffee, reading newspapers etc.

-Ok I saw a ped looking in a shop window before, but it doesn't seem to happen a lot. At least not as much as GTA IV.

-They done that in GTA IV too. If the light changed they jogged across the street. Not sure about looking both ways.

-Peds in GTA IV were seen in places like Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell, but GTA V has a poor amount of interiors so...

-The fact they're so rare means it's a step backwards to me. I saw them every time the early hours of the morning rolled around in GTA IV.

-They do that in GTA IV. Maybe not firetrucks so much, but ambulances yes.

I just feel GTA V isn't that more advanced and in a lot of ways it is a step backwards whether people like to admit it or not. Remember when it was said that you could follow peds around as they go about their daily business? This seems to be complete bullsh*t. The most I've seen a ped do is pull up at an apartment block, get out of his car, walk around the back, light up a cigarette and that's it.

GTA IV makes me feel like I'm apart of a crime ridden sh*thole whereas GTA V feels like a holiday.

The gleaming skyscrapers, cold, trash filled streets, the sound of the subway smashing the tracks, seagulls near the water etc just make GTA IV that more atmospheric to me.

GTA IV definitely had an incredible atmosphere. It's what carried my enthusiasm and appreciate for the game these past 5 years. However the game is dated, heavily, and it shows. However with the advent of GTA Online, it seems Rockstar is poised to forward-port Liberty City and possibly other locations into this modernized engine.

Can you imagine Liberty City improved and optimized? It's an extremely exciting thought.

Yeah. It's dated and I can't wait to see LC on GTAO when R* get around to it.

I think GTA IV gave off a stronger idk if I say that because I'm from NY but I a tually felt like I was In NY ... It's a dark city so it worked out perfect ... The subway stations even felt real being there ... Only thing that was weak was the number of buses you see riding were non existent and I'm in NY there are tons of them .. I know that's nothing to complain about but i used to ride the public transportation heavy ..... Also the project buildings on there ... Looked too real

- Yeah. That's the only place I've seen them, but I've only seen a couple. I saw peds maintaining all the time in GTA IV.

There is Carlos at Mike's house, he cuts leaves and uses a blower most of the time I see him, the same happens with the other ones, they mostly spawn at rich people houses anyways.

-They were in GTA IV too.

This ones are more dynamic, they're not spawned in a huge mess with Pickaxes, instead they can be seen using drills on a road with cones and a huge truck full of rocks.

-The GTA IV equivalent was peds talking on phones, drinking coffee, reading newspapers etc.

They still talk on phones, on IV I never saw them drink their coffe just holding it, were in this one they actually drink it and eat donuts, take selfies, take pics of your completely tuned car and give you a complement too, if you happen to step in as Trevor where they are talking on the phone, you can actually hear them talking about him, they still buy from Food Vendors but thats a very rare occasion, you can see them waiting at Bus Stops and drink Coffe inside a bus, I see them on balconies in Vespucci beach...

-Ok I saw a ped looking in a shop window before, but it doesn't seem to happen a lot. At least not as much as GTA IV.

With that I kinda agree on

-They done that in GTA IV too. If the light changed they jogged across the street. Not sure about looking both ways.

Never saw that happen.

-Peds in GTA IV were seen in places like Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell, but GTA V has a poor amount of interiors so...

There is not a poor amount of interiors, most of them are locked out after missions and unloaded. I actually pretty much know why there ins't a functional Hospital interior. Anyways, atleast in here they do something instead of staring around aimlessly or sitting without doing nothing

-The fact they're so rare means it's a step backwards to me. I saw them every time the early hours of the morning rolled around in GTA IV.

Because they appear on Residential areas only, I mostly see them around Mirror Park and Rancho.

-They do that in GTA IV. Maybe not firetrucks so much, but ambulances yes

Firetrucks were never going out, I've never seen a single ambulance roaming around in lights except for the Schotller ones.

I completely feel the vibe more in GTA V. When Michael speaks his first lines, when he dives into the sea for the first time to swim over to the yacht. It's just awesome. IV had the vibe too, but it wasn't as powerful for me, more depressing. As for what has the most vibe, neither. GTA Vice City has the most vibe. So much so that when I hear a song from the 80's or a sign with a vibrant pink colour, I think of Vice City, not to even mention Tommy's ridiculously good lines. Nothing has surpassed that yet for me.

The problem I have with V is, as soon as Trevor got a safehouse in the city, there was literally no need to go out into the sticks and experience what the game tries to hard to achieve. You would travel all that way to get to a mountain, I felt there needed to be some kind of other town or city, nothing to the size of Los Santos, but something to travel too, It didn't feel like I got anywhere when reaching the most north point of the map. Yes there is paleto bay, but it's just a tiny village. I mean something along the lines of Broker/Algonquin in size.

but TboGT had the best Online in IV saga (Because it kinda brightened up the sh*thole)

TBOGT had the best online? With literally the smallest number of game modes and old ones being ruined (Deathmatch on small maps COD style, Races with nitrous and superbrakes (ugh), Free Mode with Buzzards)? How does that make a good and unique multiplayer experience?

In IV, the Annihilators were only a threat to stupid airport lovers.

Wait a minute... Someone who actually gave a sh*t about gamemodes on the IV online?

Sorry. But Free-Roam is all anybody cared about, the rest of Online was horrible. And I'd imagine Freeroam would be just as terrible without friends. TboGT had the best freeroam AKA the only mode people cared about in the IV saga.

GTA V, end of discussion.

Watch out guys, the leader of the internet is here....

I know what you mean OP, they said V has 'real' peds that do things which is true to an extent, but i do think IV felt more alive. Only seen large amounts of people at night outside clubs that you can't get into >.>

Also there was people at the side of the road trying to fix their broken cars and also a couple of places people were pulled by police.

In V they just kill them and carry on driving round. It's missing that something
